History's Mysteries looks at the life of Abraham Lincoln by examining the collected papers of his former law partner William Herndon. Troubled by the mythologizing after Lincoln's death, William Herndon collected interviews and letters to compile a detailed biography of the real man Abraham Lincoln. The documents result in a controversial biography and are later placed in the Library of Congress where they are largely forgotten until modern scholars publish them.
