Maria-Dolores is the movie debut of Belgian theater director Wayn Traub. It's a screenplay adaptation of one his plays and in my opinion he succeeded very well in bringing his play to a cinema audience (think 6 degrees of separation). The acting is fresh and modest and does the intriguing screenplay justice. The movie is filmed with a DV-camera and tells the story of the lives of 2 women who are constantly being filmed by a man who remains off-screen. Only in the end the relationship between these 2 women and the man who is so fascinated by them is revealed. Maria Dolores is a fine example of how beautiful cinema is not necessarily made with a big budget and provides romantic movie-going souls healthy food for thought.
