Review of Degirmen

Degirmen (1986)
9/10
Perfectly depicting the late Ottoman period
9 May 2020
Not one of the movies Sener Sen is best known for. But this is a definitely must-see for those who are interested in the late Ottoman period. Adapted for screenplay from one of Resat Nuri Güntekin's novels with the same name, the movie spectacularly reflects the political controverises in the period while the common people are desperately poor and unaware of the disasters coming for them.
