Warning: Spoilers
Great Cast- above avg directing- scenery- realism....in fact every thing about this movie is above average except- 'The Story'. Maybe some Alzheimer's families act like this but I'm guessing it's not typical. And the "happy" ending? Really? Maybe? Not likely. Not even in this 'upper class' version. Alzhemier families suffer- maybe more than the patient-sure. They try to get this right and touch on it- a lot. But it's more a movie about people who have personal problems than about how Alzhemiers- the disease- affects thier problems. The movie moves way to fast for Alzheimer's which is a slow grind kind of suffering- years and years of it. Not a case a person wandering off a few times or who knows how many times. A husband dies (not really sure if it's his heart or he killed himself) brought on by the stress his wife having Alzheimer's Could happen I guess-does happen, no doubt, but again- is it unusual? You bet. I kept thinking- put a lock on the door that she can't open for heavens sake or at least a buzzer or a bell. They seem well off- can't they hire a nanny or a baby sitter at least? Put her in a nursing home- she will be happy there- problems solved- REALLY? That is so naive. I could go on nit picking but- If i haven't made my point. I guess I don't get it- or the writer doesn't. There are few if any insights here about Alzheimer's or even "Life" for that matter.
