Pam & Tommy (2022)
Enthralling mini series
Well made and a very good watch. I didn't think I would enjoy as much as I did and watched it over 2 nights. Great acting and interesting characters, you see a side of Pamela Anderson that I never knew and you feel sorry for her. Great watch highly recommended.
Death on the Nile (2022)
A remake that should never have been remade.
An ordinary movie that was way longer than it needed to be with a meaningless start, drawn out middle and an ordinary ending. The cgi was ordinary, the acting OK, the style of movie predicable. A remake that should never been remade.
Mother! (2017)
I have no idea !!!
It is an engrossing movie that starts well. It has you in and watching intently. But then goes further and further into the ridiculous. The last half an hour makes you wander why you wasted the previous 90 minutes. Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardeen give great performances in this movie but it is so weird towards the end the ridiculousness is almost impossible to describe. If you have nothing better to do and like Jennifer Lawrence worth the watch. Strange, weird and stupid.
Alone (2020)
Definitely not edge of the seat
Horror well maybe, mystery! The only mystery to the movie is how I managed to watch the entire movie.
It does start well and then the original storyline morphs into something totally different. It the harks back to a teenage college movie. By this point your wondering what's going on and why your watching the movie.
Then the two stories meld into one stupid story and just about everyone in the movie ends up dead. I also have to point out the acting is very ordinary.
Watch at your peril.
Red Carpet (2021)
They call this a movie?
If your suffering from insomnia this is your cure. A very ordinary movie with a very very ordinary plot. I would say spoiler alert but there is nothing to spoil. This truly is an awful movie which is about sex slavery. A noble and very serious subject which is is vaguely what this movie is about, mixed with gangs, drugs and some lesbian action. The longer this movie goes on the stupider and more harder to believe it gets. Did I forget the clown that wears a mask all the time? Better than a sleeping pill.
Fantasy Island (2020)
Fantasy what ???
A very confusing movie. Starts off well and as the movie rolls on all the fantasies start to intertwine and confuse the daylights out of he audience. My fantasy was for the movie to end sooner.
Rocketman (2019)
Funny, sad, happy and the sometimes awful truth about the great Elton John
A great movie and Taron Egerton gives a wonderful performance as Elton John. As someone that grew up listening to Elton John I had no idea what a sad upbringing he had, there was only one decent relative to help and guide him. His talent and showmanship shone through and he endured the highs and lows to be the artist he is today. This film as good as it is wasn't what I was expecting but it was engrossing and tells Elton's life through his (and Bernie's) great music. Definite must see.
The Dirt (2019)
Awesome movie go the Crüe !!!
Great movie and makes you get to see how rock bands really were. I was never a Motley Crüe fan but this gave me a great perspective and appreciation for the band. There are sad parts and happy parts. How the band survived and prospered without killing themselves is amazing especially Nikki. Motley Crüe rules !!!
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
One of the greats
This truly is an awesome movie. As a queen fan it gives you goose bumps and makes your hair stand on end. A great cast and a brilliantly written movie and a must see for any movie fan. The story of Freddie Mercury and Queen is the story of one of musics great singers and great bands. It gives a wonderful insight to how some of the greatest music of all time was made. I was lucky enough to see Queen in 1985 and it was a great concert and the movie reminded me again of what a truly great band they were. The final 20 minutes showing the Queen set at live aid is one of the greatest rock performances ever. A must see movie and not just once.
Hereditary (2018)
I lost my head over this
The movie starts off ok but the more you watch the weirder it gets. I was trying to work out if it was a horror movie or a comedy at certain points. After falling asleep when most of the cast are missing their heads or have been burnt to death. I was awakened to an even more weird ending with Toni Collete's character hanging off the ceiling and the son being pronounced a prince of evil, or something like that. I was glad when it was over and will rethink wether I do actually like horror movies or not. This movie is 2hrs 7mins long which is about 2 hrs too long.
Billions (2016)
Best TV series of all time.
Superb show that has the viewer craving the next episode before the current one is finished. The writing, the acting and the production are all terrific. The cast are perfect for their roles. I wish there were more episodes. A truly great show !!!
A Quiet Place (2018)
Tense but hard to believe
Good acting but a very far fetched and very hard to believe story. In the movie there are seperate back ground stories of love and sacrifice set on a farm in post apocalyptic American amongst a bunch of weird blind large sized cockroach looking monsters with super sensitive hearing. The family in the movie has to live in silence so the super sized cockroaches don't come and kill them. Lord forbid if some farted out aloud. In the end good wins over evil after the ultimate sacrifice has been made. The movie will keep most people amused but the cockroaches well ??
