Bad Teacher (2011)
Waste of Time
Wow, I don't even know where to begin.
This movie is full of attempts at crude humor that fall completely flat because they have no real substance to them, big name actors that somehow forgot how to act for this single movie, and plot holes. I'm not sure even treating this movie as a drinking game would save it, it's pretty horrendous.
Fractured (2019)
This is not how a hospital would handle this
Severe concussions (now more often called TBIs) CAN have violent or erratic behavior as a symptom. That symptom after a single TBI would likely mean that there was still depolarization occurring and would be something that they would DEFINITELY still be treating him, possibly under a medical induced coma.. and if they had determined that he was medically okay concerning the head injury, they would have already had the police mandate him be restricted to the psych ward with how he's acting. The only place I've seen this kind of negligence is a teaching hospital. I mean, forgetting the whole twist of it being delusions this movie is just rough to watch as someone who knows something about the injury and general treatment. Also the pacing is just incredibly slow.. with all the big names in this movie I was just expecting a better movie.
Bad Apples (2018)
Snooze Fest
What a snooze fest, no clear plot.. gore wasn't even that good because it was so low budget.. unsatisfying ending. I usually adore both good and bad horror but with with I just want my hour and change back. It wasn't scary even.
R.I.P.D. (2013)
Feel Good Buddy Cop Movie
Look. The graphics are trash- the dead look completely unrealistic and cheesy. However, the plot is cute, the humor is humorous, and it's just a fun feel good movie with the normal buddy cop tropes. If you want something light, this is the movie for you. Great for those who like Halloween themed stuff with none of the scare or gore.
Collateral Beauty (2016)
Heartfelt
Look, it's obvious from the trailers-- this is a sad movie.
But anyone who watched the trailers knows that. You know what you are going into. It is very formulaic, but the acting is good. Even the little parts are good. I would say if you watched and liked "The Fault in Our Stars" this is a good movie for you. It focuses on interpersonal relationships and the raw emotions that come with tragedy. If you are looking to cry, but definitely feel something, this is the movie for you.
I feel like a lot of the negative hype may come from expecting more from the movie than was ever promised. Two of the main actors are known as taking action movie roles. This movie was never marketed as an action movie, though. It was advertised as a drama about a man who had lost his child. That is exactly what it is. Sure there are some unexpected turns, but at the end of the day, don't expect what was never advertised to be there.
The Last Witch Hunter (2015)
It's like a D&D Campaign
Look. I see all these reviews talking about the semi-cheesy effects and the acting.... but seriously?? Vin Diesel is the lead. You knew what you were getting into when you saw this. He always plays the same Bad-A unemotional sort of cheesy character. It's part of his charm. Also I feel the graphics were beautiful without being too light hearted for a movie about witches. The whole plot runs like a D&D campaign, it is slightly predictable-- but anyone who has seen Ridick or any other Vin Diesel based movie should expect that. It's a feel good-fun movie with just a touch of darkness. It's really sad that it didn't do well enough in the box office for them to make a second one, I feel it really had potential.
