The Terminal List (2022)
Simply enthralling
A pattern is beginning to develop here where most poorly-rated shows on rotten tomatoes turn out to be good. This show made me remember the good old days of no nonsense action movies.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
She-Man and Mistress of the Universe
What an utter disaster. It seems Kevin Smith knows he is going to be paid anyway, so he decided to give was this filthy patchwork and destroy the source material. I would have given it negative 10 stars cos the one star is too generous. If you are familiar with MOTU please do not try this. If you are new to the franchise, proceed at your own peril.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Best NEW blockbuster of 2020
This is a totally different movie from the incoherent mess of the previous version. Its like Barry Allen used the speed force to go back in time to correct Whedon's mistake. I understand people compare DC and Marvel films but this particular Snyder version just has a different but absolutely spell-binding vibe about it.
The only downside was Darkseid's appearance that was not menacing enough.
Cyborg was the standout hero for me and I always wondered why he looked so pissed off in the Whedon version but now that I know his motivations, everything makes so much more sense
Batman Begins (2005)
Stays fresh forever
Nolan at is absolute best. Re-watching this in 2021 and I don't see many movies better than this masterpiece. The end when commissioner Gordon hands batman Joker's business card still gives me shivers.
Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (2020)
Relentless, Undiluted Excitement
Now this is more like it. A movie that doesn't hold back on it's bloody decorations. It perfectly captures the essence of the immortal game and impeccably times it's dialogue with well delivered catchphrases.
JoJo no Kimyô na Bôken (2012)
Unique, even among animes
This masterpiece is over-the-top, bold and it can occasionally come off as being cheesy. However, these all serve to make the show stand out from the rest with all its elements working synergistically to craft a unique piece of art. Although, I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch this as their first anime because it could be overwhelming.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Such an emotional movie.
This movie was not just about CGI but fantastic performances from the cast.
A movie is only as good as its villain (The dark knight is a perfect example) and Brolin as Thanos was absolutely impressive and menacing.
Watching the avengers getting battered a second time by Thanos was quite hard to watch. However, our favorite avengers fought back bravely. A honorable mention to captain America who was my preferred avenger- his handling of Myolnir was exceptional.
Boku no hîrô akademia (2016)
Best anime of 2016
After exhausting all Naruto, one piece and bleach episodes, I was scrolling through similar anime when I stumbled on a 'certain my hero academia'
It sounded like another boring high school anime and the first 10 minutes of episode 1 did not look very convincing which prompted me to shut it off and keep searching for other shows. However, something kept gnawing away at my soul that wanted me to find out what happens next and 2 days later I continued to watch the first episode. By the time it ended episode 2 couldn't wait and subsequent episodes became too tantalizing I couldn't wait. This show starts slow but if you can just have a little patience and get to the 2nd or 3rd episode it just accelerates into a deluge of excitement.
Season 2 can't come early enough.
