- TriviaThis episode contains another neat little reference to the fact that Ted Danson, who plays DB Russell, and Peri Gilpin, who plays his wife Barbara, previously worked together on Frasier (1993). Barbara has painted a cityscape of Seattle, which is where the Russells lived prior to moving to Las Vegas. Seattle is also where Gilpin's and Danson's characters (Roz Doyle and Sam Malone) met on "Frasier."

Disappointing Conclusion
Mike Crenshaw abducts Finn while Russell processes his granddaughter's room despite the conflict of interest. Sara is unable to contact Nick by phone. Ecklie is fighting for his life in the hospital. Moreno says that Crenshaw jammed Finn's messages in Russell's house. Meanwhile, Finn says that Kate is OK to Russell and that McKeen wants to see him. McKeen tells Russell that Jack Gilmore has stolen two-million dollars from him and he wants his money back. Russell finds him and Jack is killed by a sniper. Soon Brass says that McKeen used Russell to find the whereabouts of Jack Gilmore to kill him. When they have a new lead to be followed of the dirty cop Earl Whitson, they head to the desert to the house of his ex-wife.
"Karma to Burn" is the disappointing conclusion of the last episode of "CSI". There is no reason why Kate is still alive and being a liability to the gang of McKeen. Finn risking her life the way she does is completely nonsense. The recovery of Ecklie is OK, since he is a strong man. Morgan kissing Hodges has nothing to do with the plot and is ridiculous. The best part of the show is the punishment of McKee in the end. My vote is seven.
