They might not be at the level of John Carpenter or Wes Craven yet, but meet the directors who are keeping the B-movie flag flying...
B-Movies. Exploitation flicks. Genre cinema. Someone has to make them, and here is a list compiling the best of the today’s crop of filmmakers who are unabashed in their love of genres, and have honed their talents producing enjoyable and sometimes great B-Movies. While all the movies they make may not be great, do not dismiss them. The seeds of great things are contained in their filmographies, and it would come as no surprise if one or two of these guys are able to attain the same heights as luminaries like Hill, Carpenter, Craven and Corman.

The English actor and martial artist, Scott Adkins, has expressed his desire to work with bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal. Scott is reportedly impressed by Vidyut’s action scenes and wants to collaborate with him on a project.
In an recent meeting with Sunil Rodrigues, one of B-Town’s action directors, Scott made a reference to Vidyut and revealed that he had seen Vidyut’s film Commando and his videos online. The surprised action director took Twitter to share about Adkin’s reference to Vidyut.
Jammwal is also looking thrilled to be on Scott’s radar. He says, “It feels great to have my action scenes recognised and appreciated by an incredible international action star like Adkins. He has one of the best bodies in the business and some amazing action sequences to his credit in films like Undisputed II and Ninja (2009) among others.”

Title: Assassin’s Bullet Director: Isaac Florentine Cast: Christian Slater, Donald Sutherland, Elika Portnoy, Timothy Spall I feel bad for Christian Slater, Donald Sutherland and Timothy Spall. They must have either been manipulated into acting in Assassin’s Bullet, or straight out lied to. Those would be the only logical assumptions that can be made for why anyone would make the decision to be in this catastrophic disaster. Director Isaac Florentine, who also directed the Mma-based films, Undisputed II: Last Man Standing and Undisputed III: Redemption, now brings us a new film in his catalogue, called Assassin’s Bullet, which hits an all-time low. For the aforementioned Mma films, you could make the argument [ Read More ]...

Baseball has "Field of Dreams." Basketball has "Hoosiers." Hockey has "Slap Shot." In other words: you can't be a major American sport without a major American sports movie.
It looks like mixed martial arts might have found its major sports movie with this week's "Warrior," the story of two brothers (Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton) who both enter a massive Mma tournament. The film's already garnering rave reviews and strong social media word of mouth, and even generating some Oscar buzz. It looks on track to be one of the surprise hit of the fall.
While "Warrior" is certainly mixed martial arts' biggest and potentially most acclaimed appearance on the silver screen to date, it's far from the first movie set the world of Mma. We'll have our review of "Warrior" later in the week; in the meantime, here is a look at five important milestones on Mma's journey to cinematic legitimacy.

I'm a huge vocal fan of Scott Adkins and particularly his work in the Undisputed series of Mma prison fight movies. Undisputed II: Last Man Standing introduced him as villainous Russian Yuri Boyka, who went toe to toe with Michael Jai White's wrongly imprisoned convict. Personally I prefer the fight sequences in the follow-up, Undisputed III: Redemption, which were choreographed by the award-winning Larnell Stovall - currently working with Adkins and Jean Claude Van Damme on the fourth Universal Soldier film. Stovall posted this picture on his Twitter feed recently, which features Adkins, Stovall and the mighty Mjw all on set together, further fueling long-held rumours that White was involved. Could this mean a rematch for two of the best onscreen fighters in the business?...

After a day of passionate political debate with his Twitter followers, Sylvester Stallone is back talking about our preferred subject: the sequel to The Expendables. “Good day to say that the new story line for next Expendables is taking shape — many twists that i’ve yet to figure out yet — Jcvd possibility!” he tweeted early this morning. Really, what better way for Jean-Claude Van Damme to prove his ticker is fine than by joining this muscle parade. Stallone appears hopeful: “How bout Jcvd being the baddest of the bad? Painful and fun choice for the one who gets to do battle with him.

About eight years ago, the first of the Undisputed series was released to a few theaters. It starred Wesley Snipes, Ving Rhames and Peter Falk among others. Despite the moderate star power, it didn’t do very well in the box office. Judging from the relative success of Undisputed II: Last Man Standing, which I have read is more similar to Undisputed III: Redemption, the first Undisputed only scratched the surface of what appeals to its desired fan base. By this third installment in the trilogy, they have done a much, much better job at hitting the proverbial target, and causing the target to spew its bloody mouth guard clear out of the ring. In slow-mo.

See the trailer and pics from First Look Studios "Ninja," starring Scott Adkins, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Mika Hijii, Todd Jensen, Togo Igawa, Garrick Hagon and Miles Anderson. The actioner is helmed by Isaac Florentine ("Undisputed II: Last Man Standing") from the writing by Boaz Davidson, Michael Hurst and Zaki Rubenstein. It remains as true today as it did in the days of the ancient Samurai: the weapons of the Ninja hold legendary powers for both good men and evil. The deadly weapons of the last Koga Ninja have now been entrusted to an American Ninjutsu student (Scott Adkins, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Expendables, Undisputed) studying in Japan. Commanded by his Sensei to return to New York and protect the weapons at all cost, he must defeat the skilled...

Sit right down folks and prepare yourself for some badass ninja action -- the likes of which you haven't seen in a long while. That is, unless you went and saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine last weekend. For those who did see Wolverine, you may have been impressed with some of the awesome stuntery of Scott Adkins, the martial artist turned actor who played the 'roided up version of Deadpool (also known as Weapon XI) toward the end of the film. Don't worry, this isn't a spoiler -- there are shots of his epic fight scene with Wolverine and Sabretooth in the trailer. Either way, its a badass scene with some awesome fighting from Mr. Adkins. As it turns out, Adkins is not only playing hybrid mutants these days, he's also suiting up ninja style for director Isaac Florentine (Undisputed II: Last Man Standing) in the aptly named action film Ninja -- not to be confused with the...

Whenever a discussion is brought up on who is the next action star, I would undoubtedly put my money on Scott Adkins. Like I said before in a previous post, the guy is a talented Martial Artist and an awesome on-screen fighter with a solid track record in action films including the upcoming X-men Origins: Wolverine and Ninja. Beside his impressive physical abilities, he really showcase his acting chops in Undisputed II: Last Man Standing as Yuri Boyka, a Russian champion of a illegal prison fight circuit. Even though Scott was the villain, he arguably stole the show from Michael Jai White with his memorable badass performance. Its easy to see why his character is stepping up to the main lead for Undisputed 3. In preparation for getting back to the ring and deliver some bone crunching fight scenes, Scott is hitting the gym and training intensively. Scott Adkins Fanz...
