Actor Blake Lively had the opportunity to work alongside Hunger Games star Julianne Moore in the romcom drama Private Lives of Pippa Lee. But Moore’s ability to get in and out of character on a whim initially caught Lively off guard.

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee was a 2009 movie based on the novel of the same name and directed by Rebecca Miller. Lively played a younger version of the titular character. House of Cards star Robin Wright would end up playing her much older counterpart.

Actor Julianne Moore has built up a successful career starring in several acclaimed film roles in many movie genres.
In 2005, she decided to dabble in the genre of romantic comedy. But one of the film’s funnier scenes was inspired by a real-life incident that could’ve ended tragically.

Trust the Man was a 2005 romcom film featuring an all-star cast that included Moore, David Duchovny and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The feature was directed by her husband of several years Bart Freundlich, who she met after the filmmaker sent her a film script. The pair have done three movies together. Danish director Susanne Bier won an Oscar for her incredible film In a Better World (2010), her second time contending for Best Foreign Language Film. The first was her equally involving and magnetic After the Wedding (2006). That earlier film is actually one of two popular foreign hits remade for Us audiences with Julianne Moore in the lead role this year. Taking over Bier’s duties on this other do-over is Moore’s husband Bart Freundlich, whose last film was the underrated 2016 Tribeca entry Wolves. In addition to bringing this story back on the screen, this is a reunion for the real-life couple with leading man Billy Crudup after the three of them collaborated on both World Traveler (2001) and Trust the Man (2005).
What’s most changed – of surprisingly few modifications overall – from the Danish original to the 2019 remake that premiered at Sundance are the genders...

After working mostly in TV, he reteams with his real life partner in Julianne Moore and Billy Crudup (with whom he worked on World Traveler and Trust the Man (2005) – further acting clout comes in the shape of Michelle Williams – who replaced Diane Kruger before heading into production back in May.…...

Here's some of the best stuff we've seen so far... The Best Movie Wolves What It's Like: Think along the lines of Whiplash meets White Men Can't Jump meets Friday Night Lights, except set in the world of high school basketball. Why We Love It: From director Bart Freundlich (Trust the Man), Wolves tracks the story of Anthony (newcomer Taylor John Smith), the star of his New York City-set high school basketball team and the pressures that come with being good enough to snag that scholarship to a top college (in his case, Cornell University). Woody Allen’s back catalogue casts a long shadow across contemporary romantic comedy. His tropes and trademarks are as ingrained into the collective sense memory as mother’s perfume. At the first tremble of a clarinet, mutter about mortality or meander across a Manhattan neighbourhood, we inhale the nostalgia like Bisto kids. And arguably we’d never have met Harry and Sally, walked the Sidewalks of New York or dined alongside Friends with Money without his influence.
The Longest Week is peppered with Woody base notes. Over the course of seven days, Conrad (Jason Bateman) has been stripped of the safety net of his wealth and the cushion of his ego, moved in with his cynical best friend (Billy Crudup) and accidentally fallen in love with his girl (Olivia Wilde). His eventual dilemma – to be or not to be a better man – is as timeless as Annie Hall.
Now, to coincide with its DVD release,...

It's time to have a good cry with Julianne Moore. Good grief, she cry's so much in her films that when you see it all edited together like this it's freakin' hilarious! The video called, Julianne Moore Loves to Cry, comes from pajiba's video editor Harry Hanrahan, and here's a note from the site:
It’s a telling video; if you ever want to minimize the talent of an actor, try isolating similar moments from different movies and reducing them to one three-minute video. The video is initially somber, but as you see the same face repeat itself through the video, it grows increasingly absurd.
I couldn't help but laugh through most of the video, enjoy!

"What kind of cryptic nonsense is that?," asks Annie (Piper Perabo) on Tuesday night's (Aug. 31) "Covert Affairs."
Yeah, that's what we'd like to know.
Spoiler alert! Watch the episode "What is and What Should Never Be" before proceeding further.
As "Covert's" summer run begins to wind up, we turn from Auggie (Christopher Gorham) to Annie, delving into her character more. While there's still a bit of that "operation of the week" feel, there's one major change in her life: Ben Mercer (Eion Bailey) is back.
Well, we always knew he was around. Joan (Kari Matchett) and Arthur (Peter Gallager) knew he was around. Shoot, maybe Annie's sister (Anne Dudek) even knew it. The difference is, Annie only found out for certain last night that he was alive and meddling.
We have to say, we wish he stayed away. Well ... okay, we're going to amend that. Part of us is happy that Ben is back.

Justin Bartha is in an enviable position. The actor, perhaps best known as the wisecracking sidekick in the "National Treasure" movies, scored a huge hit with "The Hangover" in 2009. He's also currently making his Broadway debut in an acclaimed production of "Lend Me a Tenor" under the direction of Stanley Tucci. The play runs through Aug. 13 at the Music Box Theatre in New York City. He is showing his dramatic range onscreen in the drama "Holy Rollers," now in theaters. But the actor faced several early false starts to his career—ones that might have stopped a lesser performer.Bartha thought he had won the lottery when he landed his first film role, playing a mentally handicapped man in a feature that starred top names Ben Affleck, Al Pacino, and Christopher Walken. The film was directed by Martin Brest, who helmed such hits as "Scent of a Woman" and "Midnight Run.

Though she won a Daytime Emmy in 1988 for her dual role as a pair of half-sisters on As The World Turns, Julianne Moore didn't gain a foothold in cinema until she was well into her 30s, but she quickly made up for lost time. In rapid succession, she established herself as a screen actor with formidable range and daring, giving memorable turns in Robert Altman's Short Cuts, Louis Malle's Vanya On 42nd Street, and Todd Haynes' Safe, which revealed a penchant for playing stifled upper-class housewives. Moore worked with Altman again on Cookie's Fortune, and took on more roles with Haynes (Far From Heaven, I'm Not There), Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia), and her husband, Bart Freundlich (The Myth Of Fingerprints, Trust The Man). Though dramatic turns have earned her four Oscar nominations—for Boogie Nights and The End Of The Affair, and, in the same year,...

Rebound centers on a 25-year-old man (Bartha) who starts an unlikely romance with his single-mother neighbor (Zeta-Jones). It will begin shooting this month in New York.
Bartha starred opposite Nicolas Cage in both National Treasure movies, in which he played tech expert Riley Pool. He also was in a previous Freundlich movie, Trust the Man, in a smaller role, as well as the Matthew McConaughey romantic comedy Failure to Launch.
Freundlich created a stir at the Toronto International Film Festival several years ago with the relationship dramedy Trust the Man, which Searchlight won in a bidding war but which earned only $1.5 million at the boxoffice.
Rebound marks one of the first projects for the nascent Film Department, which also is behind the World War II drama Brothers in Arms and the legal thriller Law Abiding Citizen.
