“I’ve been broken and then put back together so many times,” BTS leader Rm told the fashion brand 032c in his final interview before enlisting in the Korean military last year. “I realized that the person I think I am doesn’t really exist.” On his heady second solo album, Rm digs into that existential dilemma, interrogating the relationship between his world-conquering presented self and the “ordinary young man named Kim Namjoon” that he would be if he hadn’t taken the pop-star path.

Ryan Reynolds just confirmed another cameo in Deadpool 3 during the latest episode of Welcome to Wrexham. Reynolds’ Wrexham AFC co-chairman and actor, Rob McElhenney, landed a cameo role in the film. His visit to the set in London was documented in the series, however, most of the footage was heavily censored or blurred.

Reynolds and McElhenney teased the audience with the latter’s oversized jacket in the episode, which concealed his costume and thereby his secret role in the movie. Director Shawn Levy enthusiastically welcomed McElhenney to the set in the footage.

Bring Me the Horizon have unleashed the new album Post Human: NeX GEn, only letting fans know it was coming just hours before its release. The LP marks the UK band’s first full-length in five years.
While the sudden release is a surprise, the album has been a long-time coming. In fact, it was supposed to arrive last September but was indefinitely delayed due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
Fans have already heard a handful of the songs off Post Human: NeX GEn, as they’ve been sporadically unveiled over the past few years. “DIE4u,” “sTraNgeRs,” “LosT,” “AmEN!,” “DArkSide,’ and “Kool-Aid” were all previously released as singles.
The 16-song album marks Bring Me the Horizon’s first official full-length LP since 2019’s amo, although the band did release the 9-song EP Post Human: Survival Horror in 2020.

When you think about shows that have gone off the rails, Riverdale, Dexter, Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, or Glee usually come to mind.
The majority of the time, it isn't enjoyable. The digression can make for poor television.
However, there are certain cases where it makes TV gold.
Creating Uniqueness
Keeping an audience interested and on the edge of their seats can be challenging.
We want to be enthralled, but that comes with the fact that doing this means changing plots, characters, or many other factors.
Going off the rails does not always have to be a negative thing.
Community, for example, started as a traditional sitcom, but its ever-evolving nature created a cult classic and a truly entertaining hit that never became stagnant.
And then there's The Leftovers, a drama that significantly changed after its first season.

The advent of streaming television a little over a decade ago changed TV forever. One of those was the idea of releasing entire television seasons simultaneously.
Traditionally, on network television, TV series have been released one episode a week throughout their season.
HBO and other premium cable networks have also released one episode a week, although the seasons are usually shorter.
However, when Netflix debuted its first significant prestige series, House of Cards, in 2013, it released every episode simultaneously.
For several years after that, Netflix released nearly all of its shows that way.
As other streaming services rose to compete with Netflix, they used different models.
Max, for instance, has retained HBO's traditional model of usually one episode per week.
Ironically, during this era, whole seasons of The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and other shows were released on DVD at once, likely encouraging the binge-watching habit.

There are many ways to end a show, and all of them have been done. We've seen characters move on to symbolize moving on with their lives, like Friends and New Girl. We've been hit with the realization of the purgatory nature of Lost's setup. We've seen Game of Thrones ruin everyone's hopes and dreams and twist the story in the final moments.
With some better than others, the finale of favorite series is always sad to watch. And even the shows which went viral all over the internet for being nonsensical and outright offensive at parts, deserve to have an episode that sets the characters off to lives behind the cameras. ABC’s The Good Doctor is not an exception.

Apple TV+ has now released the new tense trailer for Presumed Innocent, the limited series coming to the streaming service courtesy of David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams. The legal drama has Jake Gyllenhaal in for the fight of his life as he defends himself from allegations of murdering a peer with whom he shared a complicated entanglement. It doesn’t look good for Gyllenhaal’s character, as a plethora of evidence is working against him, and he can only continually profess his innocence.
The official synopsis reads,
“Gyllenhaal is set to star as Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor whose world is upended when a close colleague is murdered — and the evidence begins to point to Rusty himself. The role would be his first ongoing part in a TV series. Presumed Innocent was previously adapted for a 1990 feature film that starred Harrison Ford as Sabich, along with Bonnie Bedelia and Raul Julia.

Scale, sweep, or schadenfreude; whatever you might be seeking in the films of Kevin Costner, you tend to walk away with the vistas. Think of the golden plains and stampeding buffalo of his directorial debut Dances with Wolves; or the jaw-dropping aerial shot of scavengers circling the atoll in Waterworld; and lest we forget The Postman, a work even the most harebrained viewers haven’t found the energy to reappraise, which still left you with an image of The Sound of Music projected onto a quarry wall, not to mention that statue of himself constructed for the film’s whacky finale. For better or worse, they aren’t easily forgotten.

Adapted from the novel of the same name about how 98% of the population tries to live in a world from which the rest of the people have suddenly disappeared, The Leftovers is a unique show in many ways. If the first season was criticized for selling viewers yet another Lost, the second season placed the show in the category of "the best thing on TV right now," and the final season forced the viewers to recognize its obvious greatness.
However, the love from critics and viewers did not translate into a large number of awards – during the entire run, the show received only one nomination for a major award.
This has not stopped The Leftovers from gaining popularity and finding its audience, which continues to grow even seven years after the finale. If you've watched The Leftovers a hundred times and have been looking for something similar, you've just found...

[This story contains spoilers for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.]
Kevin Durand is all smiles right now. The Thunder Bay native doesn’t have the energy of an actor who’s nearly three decades into their career. If you didn’t know any better, his enthusiasm would lead you to believe that he’s a wide-eyed and bushy-tailed newcomer. With recent projects like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Abigail and the upcoming reboot of The Naked Gun, it’s understandable why Durand is savoring this moment that harks back to when Lost introduced his unforgiving mercenary Martin Keamy in season four (2008).
With Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes outperforming opening weekend box office expectations at $58.4 million, the long-term outlook for the sci-fi franchise is rather sunny right now, and despite his cliff-falling ending, Durand is not ruling out a return for his baddie, Proximus Caesar.
“Does Proximus crawl out of that ocean?...

This article contains spoilers for Outer Range season 2.
Many shows in TV history have lived and died by their mysterious nature. Ongoing storylines in classics such as The X-Files, Lost, and Fringe had fans theorizing about main characters’ fates, the creative team’s intentions, or the deeper meaning of it all. Recently, shows such as From, Severance, and Yellowjackets have the same kind of devout following, and the same overarching enigmas that keep audiences coming back for answers.
When looking back at Outer Range’s first season, it’s easy to understand why the show was picked up for a second, and why the show had to come back – to unravel some of those riddles that season one left behind. While the sophomore season might have created more questions than answers, at least some of the puzzles have been solved. But don’t worry, if you’re still feeling out of the loop,...

Even if you spend all your free time watching a variety of TV shows, regardless of language, rating, genre, or time period, you're still far from watching every show imaginable. All the studios, producers, and platforms have now created so many hours of content that it will be hard to fit in just one life.
While that may be disappointing to some, it also means that you will always have something new to watch. So if you are looking for the next hidden gem to check out, you can start with something from the list below.

With season finale time right around the corner and many of our favorite series coming to a close, it's time to be brutally honest.
The shortened seasons felt the full plight of the dual strikes. And you know what? It sucked.
Yes, the overall experience of having a shortened season has been a misfortune to diehard TV Fanatics.
But also, the quality of the seasons delivered to us has generally been any combination of disappointing, boring, unhinged, or perfunctory.
It's an unusual situation when we craved the return of our favorite series for so long but quickly realized they should've forgone a rush job to salvage the television season and given themselves time to cook up better, stronger full seasons.
At the risk of sounding ungrateful, this shortened season could've been an email for some series.
It's not the first time strikes have severely hampered the quality of an otherwise excellent series.

Review: With so many shows on television and streaming platforms, it can be nearly impossible to distinguish yourself from the pack. While Outer Range may be a complex blend of genres, the first season was unlike anything else. Blending elements of everything from Yellowstone to Arrival and The Twilight Zone, Outer Range ended its first season with some substantial cliffhangers, while the second season wastes no time diving right into the murky complexity of this story of multiverses, parallel timelines and so much more.

The traditional pilot process may be dying out but that’s not stopping the glitz and glamor of the TV Upfronts in New York.
Traditionally, broadcast networks would be scrambling to make dozens of last minute decisions on a crop of new shows as well as heavily negotiated renewals as we head into the week of Upfronts. However, that is now largely a thing of the past as ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and The CW continue with their year-round development strategies.
This year’s Upfronts should be slightly smoother sailing than last year’s event, which was affected by the writers strike.
But that hasn’t stopped the majority of these networks – excluding CBS and The CW – as well as some of their streaming rivals in the shape of Amazon and Netflix from using the week of Upfronts to tout their latest wares and show off their talent in front of advertisers.

Looking at the crop of new scripted series selected by the broadcast networks for 2024-25, one cannot help but reminisce about the 20th anniversary of what may have been broadcast television’s greatest season ever.
The 2004-05 season introduced several genre-defying series — all but one based on original ideas — whose impact on TV storytelling is still being felt: Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, House, The Office and Veronica Mars. Remarkably, one of them, Grey’s Anatomy is still around, having just been renewed by ABC for Season 21, along with another show that premiered that same season, animated comedy American Dad!.
Aside from the fact that the current economic realities of the TV business will likely never support another drama going to 21 seasons, broadcast networks will also likely never take chances on so many unconventional ideas: a sci-fi drama on a deserted island that set the tone for modern genre fare, a...

While The Twilight Zone solidified its place in the cultural canon decades ago, there are times when it feels like we’re only scratching the surface of Rod Serling’s revolutionary series. Many of us know classic episodes like “To Serve Man,” “Time Enough at Last,” and “The Monsters are Due on Maple Street” due to their TV rerun presences and the countless references to them in other works over the years. Those episodes deserve all the acclaim they’ve acquired (if not more), but it sometimes feels like we really only talk about 20-25 episodes out of The Twilight Zone‘s original run of 156 episodes when we talk about that series.
In those other 130+ episodes, you’ll find not just some hidden gems but the heart of the show. At its core, The Twilight Zone was a variety series that often took some big creative risks. Not all of those risks paid off,...

Recently Netflix released the first season of 3 Body Problem, based on the book of the same name by Chinese science fiction writer Liu Cixin. This novel and its two sequels in the 2000s made Cixin the most popular author in his country.
With such fame, a movie adaptation was only a matter of time. The creators of Game of Thrones, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, took over the development of the adaptation.
3 Body Problem Was a Good Sci-Fi Show, But Not a Masterpiece
Before its release, there were many concerns about whether the series would be at least somewhat interesting: the book seemed too complicated, and Benioff and Weiss tarnished their reputations with the ending of Game of Thrones. 3 Body Problem turned out to be not perfect, but very exciting – a little rushed, but addictive from the first minutes.

Actor Kevin Durand plays Proximus Caesar, the villain in the newest film in the Apes franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

In an interview with the Inside Total Film podcast, Durand admitted his character has a few of the same tics as the tech titan.
“That’s awesome! I mean, even with the bonobo face, they compare me to Elon Musk,” he said. “I get Elon Musk all the time, actually, it’s very funny. People approach me with a look in their eye where I realize they are not meeting an actor that they like, it’s something bigger. But the fact that it comes through even when I’m an ape is fantastic!”

Since Station 19’s Ross is heading for a wedding, it was inevitable that we’d get to meet at least some of her family. And in the Thursday, May 16, episode of the sadly cancelled ABC drama (at 10/9c), Lost vet Yunjin Kim makes the first of her two appearances as Jeonghee “Jinny” Lee, the bride’s “full Korean sister,” per the network.
The character is described as being “very cross-cultural, well-educated and living full-time in Korea. She’s a woman at a crossroads and not comfortable with that uncertainty, so she spends her time fully knowing what everyone else should be doing with their lives.

In the world of late night, there are sore losers and then there are whatever you’d call Seth Meyers’ response to losing the 2024 WGA Award for Best Comedy/Variety Talk Series to good friend/fellow host/frequent stand-up partner John Oliver.
Oliver played guest to Meyers on Late Night Monday, where the two talked about their ongoing residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre—and the awkward things that can happen when the show has ended and they turn the stage into a space for a no-holds-barred Q&a with the audience.
While Oliver noted that “we do tell people that they can, and possibly should, leave” before the interactive portion begins, Meyers said that he really enjoys this part of the show. He then explained how “a very funny thing happened [during] the last Q&a. Both of our shows had been nominated for the Writers Guild Award,...

Although the Shameless actress Katey Sagal now enjoys an envious career, following her appearance in popular television shows, she once faced the common challenge of being typecast in Hollywood. After her iconic role as Peg Bundy on the hit sitcom Married… with Children (1987-1997) cemented her status in Hollywood, the show also confined her to the specific genre of comedy.
Katey Sagal as Peg Bundy on Married… with Children (1987-1997)
While the world considers Katey Sagal a versatile actress with great range, she recalled how Married… with Children typecast her in the industry. Although the show initially came as a blessing, following her 4 months of sobriety, Sagal recalled getting a sinking feeling about her career, as she kept getting repetitive roles after starring as Peg. But eventually, Sons of Anarchy came as her true savior, as the show pulled her out of the typecast misery and allowed her to explore her dramatic side.

Upon sweeping the four main drama acting categories at the 2021 Emmy Awards, “The Crown” stars Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor, Gillian Anderson, and Tobias Menzies all joined a special roster of lead or supporting TV academy honorees who were not part of their shows’ original casts. As members of the expansive Netflix series’ second of three distinct ensembles, this quartet and their co-stars were replaced ahead of season five by a new group of actors, some of whom could be added to said exclusive winners club later this year.
According to Gold Derby’s odds, the performer from the sixth and final season of “The Crown” with the best shot at Emmy glory is supporting female frontrunner Elizabeth Debicki. She played the role of Princess Diana for two seasons, finishing the job started by younger season four cast member Emma Corrin. One of the easiest ways to measure someone’s success is to count all the pop culture references that others make to them. In the case of Stephen King, they would probably hit a three-digit number, considering how many TV shows, movies, and other novel authors have been using King’s plots as an inspiration.
If you are interested to see 10 of the most popular TV shows that referred to King one way or the other, check out the list below.
Lost (2004-2010)
Heavily influenced by King's writing, Lost had no shortage of references and easter eggs to the author within the show. The most obvious are season 3 Juliet's choice of Carrie as a book club entry, and the future version of Jack reading a newspaper clipping with words like "Ted," "the Tower," and "beam" in it, all references to Stephen King's The Dark Tower.

Years after "The Sopranos" started what we consider the Peak TV era, there came a show that changed network TV forever: "Lost." It's a show that is as controversial as it is influential, one that helped bring serialization to mainstream TV, make the showrunner as recognizable among TV obsessives as the actors on screen, and delivered one of the most controversial endings in history (though it is a perfect send-off for the show).
Much like "Star Wars," it doesn't matter where you fall on the love/hate scale of "Lost," there is one thing all fans can agree on — the score remains consistently stellar throughout.
A big part of why "Lost" is still talked about so many years later is Michael Giacchino's score. There is a reason why Giacchino has played multiple concerts celebrating the music of the show since it ended in 2010, and why hundreds of people from...

In Apple’s Presumed Innocent teaser trailer, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Rusty Sabich paints with a broad brush, making adultery sound like a fairytale in which the wolf wins, and love conquers all. Anyone who discovers their spouse leading a double life will tell you differently, and Rusty’s about to find out what it feels like when the wool gets pulled over his eyes. Today, Apple TV+ dropped a steamy and intense-looking teaser for Presumed Innocent, the limited series coming to the streaming service courtesy of David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams.
Here’s the official synopsis for Presumed Innocent:
“Gyllenhaal is set to star as Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor whose world is upended when a close colleague is murdered — and the evidence begins to point to Rusty himself. The role would be his first ongoing part in a TV series. Presumed Innocent was previously adapted for a 1990 feature...

The original Spider-Man films could’ve changed the career of one Yellowstone star but he chose to turn down the offer. Tobey Maguire’s Spidey role was reportedly first offered to Wes Bentley, who now plays the despicable Jamie Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama. Bentley revealed that he rejected the offer since the comic book movies were not performing well at the time, especially with the two subpar Batman movies from Joel Schumacher.
Wes Bentley opened up about his Yellowstone role and the role that he missed out on
Before he turned down the Spider-Man role, Bentley became a promising young star with his role as Ricky Fitts in American Beauty. Bentley went on to star in other movies like The Hunger Games, Interstellar, and Mission: Impossible 6.

"Seinfeld" could be an incredibly mean show. For peak cruelty, it's hard to top "The Invitations" in which George's fiancée Susan drops dead after licking too many envelopes. The finale is self-consciously nasty in the way it indicts viewers for having been emotionally invested in the lives of these relentlessly awful people for nine seasons. My favorite might be "The Yada Yada," where Jerry is called out as an "anti-dentite" for his dim view of dentists. But the series, created by Seinfeld and Larry David, knew how to go dark without alienating its audience — which is why they scrapped a Season 2 episode called "The Bet."
Unless you're a "Seinfeld" superfan, you might not know of this episode. If you are a "Seinfeld" superfan, you know "The Bet" quite well and have surely read the script that got leaked to the "Lost Media" subreddit earlier this month. It's been something of...

In the world of television, a “pilot” episode is the one chance you have to make or break your show getting to air. If it doesn’t make the cut, it’s consigned to the film vault of history, never to be seen. It’s extremely unheard of for a franchise to get two pilots. Star Trek: The Original Series being one of those rare second chances.
Bafflingly it’s been assumed for years that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had three pilots. As Tony Oliver, co-writer and developer of the Power Rangers pilot, first revealed at Power Morphicon in 2007, “the pilot episode, which turned into the first episode [“Day of the Dumpster”], they actually did three times.”
That means they shot three separate pilot episodes, right? Well, yes, but also no. It’s very complicated so we did the biggest deep dive research on the Power Rangers pilot ever. What we uncovered changes everything...

Yellowstone star Ian Bohen has some big claims about the Paramount+ series’ final few episodes, despite potentially losing lead star Kevin Costner. According to Bohen, Yellowstone fans are going to get one of the best finale seasons that could possibly be written.

Bohen’s big claims come at a time when the show is riddled with uncertainties and behind-the-scenes issues. Fans were almost expecting a disastrous final season like Game of Thrones or Lost, but the Teen Wolf actor has just raised everyone’s hopes.

[This story contains major spoilers from the season finale of FX’s Shōgun.]
It’s easy to picture Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada gazing toward the horizon with a beatific sense of satisfaction over everything he has achieved with FX’s smash-hit miniseries Shōgun. His character, Lord Yoshii Toranaga, enjoys several such moments in the show’s 10th and last episode, A Dream of a Dream, as his patient, masterful strategizing finally yields precisely the outcome he desires: absolute power for himself and peace for all of Japan.
Sanada’s moment of career triumph is not dissimilar in its decade-spanning tirelessness (at least, in entertainment industry terms). He began performing nearly 60 years ago as a child in Japan, apprenticing under the legendary actor Sonny Chiba on the way to becoming a major local star, before breaking into Hollywood with roles in projects like The Last Samurai, Lost, The Wolverine, Avengers: Endgame, Bullet Train, John Wick: Chapter 4 and many others.

Pakula-directed thriller of the same name, the original film starred Harrison Ford, Raul Julia, and Greta Scacchi. The newest version of Presumed Innocent hails from David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams, with Gyllenhaal and Negga commanding the drama.
Presumed Innocent revolves around a vicious murder that sends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office reeling when one of their representatives becomes a suspect in the crime. Kelley’s version is said to investigate themes of obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love as the accused fights to keep aspects of their life from falling apart.
