- Spencer Treat Clark was credited as "Sean at Nine" in release prints of the film, because he appeared in a scene that was deleted so close to the film's release that the credits had already been finalized and couldn't be changed. Clark played a grown-up version of Anderton's young son Sean, in a fantasy dream scene that took place after Anderton has been put in containment toward the end of the film. The entire scene was removed from the film just before release.
- At the 1:09:13 mark, all DVD and Blu-ray releases have a word substitution: In the eye-transplant scene, the word "Hard on" is dubbed with the word "Attitude". Whether this was redubbed prior to the theatrical release or done for home video release is uncertain.
- In the theatrical version, Dr. Solomon Eddie shouts something in Swedish into the bathroom at Greta. The subtitle reads something like, "Wipe your ass and get out here." This line is absent in the VHS and DVD versions of the film.
- For the U.S. theatrical release, the 20th Century Fox logo appeared before the Dreamworks logo at the beginning of the film, and the poster credits said, "Twentieth Century Fox and Dreamworks Pictures present." Since the U.S. version's home video/DVD rights are owned by Dreamworks, the Dreamworks logo at the beginning of the movie appears before the 20th Century Fox logo, and the back of the box's cover art says, "Dreamworks Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox present."
