- Jacy: Hey, tell that woman I'll be Eve. I've got to stop being so reclusive! Causing the fall of humanity might be just the kind of challenge I need.
- Karla: I don't know what you've got to smile about!
- Duane Jackson: Well, it was either smile about nothing or cry about everything... And I didn't feel like cryin'.
- Duane: I thought you hated Jacy.
- Ruth Popper: I don't hold grudges for 30 years! She was just a girl then.
- Sonny Crawford: You know who dropped in to the Kwik Sack in the middle of the night? Jacy Farrow. She just looked through a few magazines.
- Duane: I guess you're the only one who's seen her since she's come back. Is she still as beautiful as ever?
- Sonny Crawford: Never took off her dark glasses. She's beautiful - but, she's old.
- Karla: Duane, why are you poking that gun in the water?
- Duane: I was thinkin' of shootin' my dick off. It's caused me nothin' but trouble my whole life.
- Karla: Well, just 'cause you're havin' a mid-life crisis, I don't think you ought to try and shoot your dick off.
- Duane: Why not? It don't work half the time, anyway.
- Karla: Well, I wouldn't be the one to know about that. But, it's a small target and if you miss, you're going to ruin our new hot tub.
- Duane: I don't know why we're even talkin' about this.
- Ruth Popper: Because, the oil business has gone belly up and there's nothin' for you to do but sleep with every woman you can find.
- Karla: It broke my heart seein' Sonny in the picture show. Then I realized that wasn't what broke it. It was already broken. You broke it. Seein' him just made me realize I didn't have a whole heart anymore.
- Jacy: If you could get me back in love with you, you wouldn't have to spend so much time makin' deals in ugly towns, would you? I might put my daddy's fortune at your disposal.
- Duane: Well, I never had you in love with me. You had me in love with you and that was in high school.
- Jacy: That's a good point, Duane. Did I have you madly in love?
- Duane: Madly.
- Jacy: I guess I once could summons some pretty mad love.
- Jacy: I hope you're not gonna be too long. This looks like the kinda place I could get real depressed.
- Karla: You ought not to leave me alone on days like this. I can't even get drunk! The faster I drink, faster things happen to sober me up.
- Jacy: Gameshows are what life's really like. You win things that look great at the time but turn out to be junk, and you lose things you might want to keep forever... just because you're unlucky.
- Karla: You ought not to leave me alone on days like this. I can't even get drunk. The faster I drink, the faster things happen to sober me up.
- Duane Jackson: Women have a heartless side to them, don't they?
- Lester Marlow: This whole town is heartless!
- Lester Marlow: Marylou likes excitement. She says I'm not exciting any more.
- Duane: Well, it's hard to stay exciting for a whole lifetime.
- Sonny Crawford: The pills make me feel like I got a fuzz in my head, sort of a warm fuzz... not a great feeling. I'd rather see movies in the sky.
- Duane: Well, maybe you ought to lay off the pills until the Centennial's over. We're all going to need our wits about us once that gets started.
- Sonny Crawford: I think my wits live somewhere else now.
- Duane: I doubt she'd even remember me, Ruth.
- Ruth Popper: You remember her, don't you? Why should her memory be worst than yours?
- Duane: Oh, I just meant we weren't friends any more.
- Ruth Popper: I think you'd rather go pick on footloose wives than help a woman you used to love.
- Marylou Marlow: You're son's a stinker. You want to hear how he seduced me and ruined my life?
- Duane Jackson: I don't know if I do. I got a lot of bad news today already.
- Marylou Marlow: I might be pregnant.
- Duane Jackson: Would it be Dickie's or Lester's?
- Marylou Marlow: Oh, Dickie's! I told Lester I couldn't be his outlet anymore. He is a good father though. Sometimes I feel guilty; but, mostly I feel its every person for themselves. You know what I mean?
- Rev. G.G. Rawley: You are a sinner! Your *wife* is a sinner! Your kids - fornicate and sell dope.
- Duane: I don't claim to be perfect, G.G.
- Minerva: That girl has really put on weight. She was skinny as a rail when she was in high school. Wasn't she, Duane?
- Duane Jackson: Yeah. Kinda skinny.
- Lee Roy: [calling on the CB Radio] How 'bout it, Duane? You awake? Duane! You got your ears on?
- Duane: Yeah, I got you. Go on.
- Lee Roy: I think Libyan terrorists have kidnapped Sonny Crawford. He's been gone all night. They said on TV they sent in a bunch of hit squads.
- Duane: They didn't say the sent 'em to Anarene.
- Karla: You worry me so much. What were you doin' up there?
- Sonny Crawford: Oh, I was just watching a movie. I mean, I imagined I was watching a movie. It's just kinda like I got this VCR and it's in my brain.
- Julie: I don't see why you sent us here in the first place. These people are all Jesus Freaks.
- Duane Jackson: You're mother thought it would be a good idea for you to learn somethin' about the Bible.
- Julie: All I did was let a little boy from Nacona take a few pictures of my pee-pee. What's wrong with that? You and Mama go naked in the hot tub.
- Karla: Put that gun down, Billie Anne. Little Barbette might have a trauma for life if you shot somebody right here by the hot tub.
- Duane: How's your brain problem?
- Sonny Crawford: Well, got some pills.
- Duane: Yeah? Do they work?
- Sonny Crawford: Oh, well, I don't see movies in the sky and I haven't lost my car lately. I guess that's an improvement.
- Duane: You don't seem too convinced.
- Sonny Crawford: No. The pills make me feel like I got fuzz in my head. Sort of a warm fuzz. Not a great feelin'. I'd rather see movies in the sky.
- Genevieve Morgan: That girl never would let you alone.
- Duane: Yeah. But she's not a girl anymore.
- Genevieve Morgan: Yeah, well, the older we get, the more dangerous.
- Duane: Italy. That sounds fine. You're young. You ought to get out and see the world. You don't have to make the oil patch your whole life.
- Dickie Jackson: Been your whole life though.
- Duane: Oh, that's my limitation. It don't have to be yours.
- Duane: I guess we're the only ones in the hospital.
- Jacy: And it's full of beds too. - - I don't want you to try an fuck me Duane.
- Duane: I wasn't going to.
- Jacy: No you weren't; but, you're gonna tie yourself up in knots thinkin' about it every time we're together. If you just relax about it we could have a certain amount of fun.
- Lester Marlow: I heard that Karla and Jacy were in love. It didn't particularly surprise me.
- Duane: It didn't?
- Lester Marlow: No. They're both advanced women.
- Duane: Why is Sonny living in your trailer? Why do you think you can live with someone who's crazy?
- Ruth Popper: Sonny's a very mild person. And he loved me once. I would have been dead long ago if Sonny hadn't loved me. I think it's my place to take him in.
- Duane: You're gettin' awfully Christian in your old age.
- Duane: Sonny is gettin' sicker. One week he thinks he sees movies. Next week he thinks he's in movies.
