This past season of hit shows was heavily dominated by the CBS network, with multiple series like Tracker and Elsbeth making headlines across the television airways.
Ghosts is definitely in good company. There are so many great shows to watch back to back, especially with so many series on hiatus now that we're entering the summer months.
Season 3 of this whimsically funny show has come and gone, and viewers are likely already chomping at the bit for the next season—and we don't blame them after that epic cliffhanger in the finale.
What is Ghosts about?
The series revolves around Sam and Jay, a married couple from NYC who learn that Sam's late great-aunt recently passed away. Since Sam is the last living heir, she inherits her aunt's big countryside mansion.
Filled with hope for a new life, the couple moves in to renovate the home into a B&b business.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Thursday’s episode of Ghosts.
Woodstone Mansion was in for quite the surprise on this week’s episode of Ghosts.
The penultimate episode didn’t disappoint, revealing yet another ghost’s powers. It looks like Pete (Richie Moriarty) isn’t stuck on the property after all. Unlike everyone else, he isn’t bound by the ghost border at Woodstone and can travel wherever he pleases. Naturally, his first getaway is a trip to the grocery store with Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who immediately loses him due to the fact that he can’t actually see any of the ghosts.
Luckily, this wasn’t another Flower (Sheila Carrasco) situation. By the end of the episode, Pete had returned safe and sound. But the newfound confidence he got from leaving the property inspired him to take a trip to see his family. Hopefully he’ll be...

Ghosts fans were thrilled when Flower, the spirit who was believed to be “sucked off” in the season 3 premiere, returned. Flower was missing from the beloved series for most of season 3 before fans learned she had fallen into a well and could not climb out because ghosts can walk through walls. While fans were always hopeful the spirit would return, the reappearance of Flower restored Woodstone Mansion’s vibe. Keeping the secret was no easy task for Sheila Carrasco, the actor who portrays Flower on Ghosts. Carrasco recently revealed it was difficult not to tell those closest to her what was happening.

CBS’ hit sitcom Ghosts continues to delight fans, but the subject matter grew heavy on Thursday, April 18. While fans were thrilled to see Flower return, more surprises were in store. Leading up to the episode, fans of the series had already learned how most of the ghosts died, and now we’ve learned Hetty’s cause of death. That leaves just one ghost with an unknown death.
Hetty’s cause of death has been revealed
Hetty, the robber baroness who controls Woodstone Mansion, has been an important character since the series’ inception, but her death remained a mystery until recently. Earlier in the series, fans learned that Hetty’s diabolic husband, Elias, died when he was trapped inside a vault. Still, Hetty never spoke of her own demise.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Ghosts Season 3, Episode 8, “Holes Are Bad.”] Ghosts was filled with surprises for fans in the latest episode, “Holes Are Bad,” as the true story behind Hetty’s (Rebecca Wisocky) was revealed in order to save Flower (Sheila Carrasco) from her place at the bottom of Woodstone’s well. When Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) step away for a romantic weekend together, the ghosts stumble upon their long-lost compadre, Flower who fell into the Woodstone well after chasing a butterfly. It turns out that the ghost who was actually “sucked off” at the end of Season 2 was actually basement ghost Ralph (Tyler Alvarez) who was bunking with attic girl, Stephanie (Odessa A’zion). With that mystery solved, the question of how to get Flower out of the well was raised. In the world of Ghosts, spirits aren’t able to climb walls, but need ground to walk on. When construction...

One of the fundamental mysteries of Ghosts has been finding out how each of the ghosts ended up dead in the first place — the only common thread between them being that they all died at Woodstone Mansion at some point in history. The latest of the undead to get the spotlight is Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), the uptight lady of the manor and Sam’s great-great-great-great-great aunt, whose death story is finally revealed in Thursday’s episode.
Unlike previous death revelations on the CBS comedy, Hetty’s was intertwined with the welcomed return of Flower (Sheila Carrasco), who had been stuck in a well this entire time and not “sucked off” as previously thought. But her return wasn’t without its obstacles; the well she was in was about to be filled up with concrete, accelerating the ghosts’ urgency to get her out safely. Enter Hetty.

“Ghosts” hit another landmark on Thursday night, as this week’s episode of the hit CBS comedy revealed the truth behind Flower’s disappearance — while also, on a much more profound level, explored the truth behind Hetty’s death in 1895.
In the episode, “Holes are Bad,” when Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) go away for the weekend, the ghosts are left alone — and discover that Flower (Sheila Carrasco) hadn’t been “sucked away” to the afterlife as they thought. Instead, she’s been stuck at the bottom of a well, and had no way of getting out of it.
While they’re gone, Sam and Jay had hired a contractor to fill the well with concrete — which would have left Flower stuck in there for eternity. But with no way to contact Sam and Jay (their efforts to FaceTime the livings fails), the ghosts struggled to find another way to save her.

[This story contains spoilers from the season 3, episode 8 of Ghosts, “Holes Are Bad.”]
The premise of CBS’ hit comedy Ghosts is a notably ridiculous one: After a near-death experience, Sam (Rose McIver) can communicate with the spirits who haunt the country home she inherited from her great aunt — a group of specters from all walks of life and historical eras who died on the property at some point in time. One of those ghosts includes Hetty Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), the great-great-great-great-aunt to Sam, who maintains a stuffy, Gilded Age-era attitude that prides wealth and power and shows a disdain for modern times.
In the eighth episode of Ghosts‘ third season, however, we learn a surprising fact about Hetty that brings more depth to a character who has slowly revealed herself to be more than just an uptight robber baroness from a far-off generation. Unhappily married to a devious man of means, she is pinned into a corner when her...

As teased in the episode’s promo, Hippie ghost, Flower, will seemingly be found in the well she somehow landed between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3. CBS But what does that have to do with Hetty? “There’s another promo that reveals slightly more in that we’ve all discovered that Flower is in the well,” Wisocky tells TV Insider. “We’re all panicked about it.” As for the story surrounding Flower’s predicament,...

Ghosts‘ third season is keeping fans in limbo when it comes to missing ghost and hippie Flower (Sheila Carrasco). Ever since it was teased that she wasn’t really “sucked off,” a.k.a. crossed over to the other side, but was instead in a well on Woodstone’s property, viewers have been patiently awaiting her return. As previously reported, Carrasco, who plays the beloved character, had been pregnant in the weeks leading up to filming and gave birth to her first child when production resumed following the strikes last year. So, it’s understandable why the show would delay her return because you can’t exactly explain how a ghost is suddenly pregnant when they never seem to change. CBS While there’s no confirmation of Flower’s return quite yet, the question feels closer to “when” than “if” she’ll return. But as the season continues, she has yet to make an appearance,...

CBS is looking to scare up more laughs after handing an early Season 4 renewal to supernatural comedy Ghosts.
It is the latest renewal order for the Paramount-owned network, which also handed a third season to Fire Country and gave Justin Hartley series Tracker a second season earlier this month.
Ghosts, which is based on the BBC’s British comedy, has been a success for CBS since launching in 2021. Its third season is averaging over 10M viewers in live 7-day multiplatform viewing, which is marginally up from last year and streaming numbers are up on Paramount+, where the company said it ranked as its number one comedy in February.

It’s been a long wait for the Ghosts season 3 premiere – nine months, in fact, since the Ghosts season 2 finale ended on a major cliffhanger in May 2023. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes unexpectedly extended the usual planned summer break hiatus well into the fall and winter.

Now fans are finally finding out what happened immediately after Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) watched in shock from their car as a massive light beamed down from heaven to “suck off” (in the show’s parlance) one of the ghosts.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 3 premiere of “Ghosts,” titled “The Owl,” which aired Feb. 15 on CBS.
Flower, hopefully you’re finally getting to cuddle a few bears up there in the sky. Yes, you read that right: There’s one less ghost on “Ghosts,” as the characters said farewell to Flower on the Season 3 premiere of CBS’ hit comedy.
The series finally returned on Thursday (after a long strikes-induced delay), and we learned which spirit had been finally sent to the afterlife. After a few fakeouts, the ghosts discovered that it was Flower (Sheila Carrasco) who was “sucked off” in the Season 2 finale, as witnessed by Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar).
Flower is the 1960s-era hippie who died trying to hug a bear while high on acid, and remained a bit forgetful and drugged-out while living in the purgatory that is Woodstone Mansion.
