Becky Altringer was born Rebecca Pruitt at Los Angeles General Hospital in 1963 in the same ward where Marilyn Monroe was born. She grew up with her step-fathers' last name, Houle, and married Russell Altringer in 1981. They had a son, Kevin, in 1985 and divorced in 1990.
Becky met Cheryl Howell after her divorce in 1990, and they are still together. They raised two five-year-olds, her son and Cheryl's daughter Lindsey. They now enjoy taking part in raising their grandchildren.
Becky has been a private investigator since 1995 and started Ariel Investigations in 1998. She is the CEO and an advocate for abuse against women, children, and animals. Her career has been mentally, emotionally, and spiritually rewarding. She has helped families find loved ones and helped victims of rape, stalking, harassment, and domestic abuse. She has helped many of her clients get through divorces, theft, infidelity, and even exposing animal abuse.
Her breakthrough came when Academy Award-nominated documentary film director Kirby Dick and producer Eddie Schmidt hired and cast her in This Film Is Not Yet Rated, investigating the MPAA film rating system and its impact on American culture.
The most cherished moments in her life are spending time with her family and writing. She has completed one children's book, Oolygalees, and is writing two additional children's stories, along with a book based on her life as a lady P.I, Secrets and Lies.
Secrets and Lies are based on her life with several current and essential topics like the MeToo movement and are seen through the victim's eyes. It is a suspenseful, packed autobiographical depicting her turbulent memories of childhood molestation, rape, and sexual identity confusion - quite a brutal awakening for anyone to survive. She makes a startling change at the brink of hopelessness and leaps into love again - with another woman. It is a poignant story of a survivor, unwilling to compromise her integrity and willing to embrace her newfound identity while becoming a Private Investigator.
