Box Office Reporting
The coronavirus pandemic and the closure of most movie theaters has led to a temporary suspension of North American box office reporting by Comscore, the industry’s box office tracker.
The decision came after Disney announced it would stop global box office reporting, given the current large number of theater shutdowns around the globe.
“Due to this unprecedented situation, Comscore will be temporarily suspending our usual Sunday North American Top 10 Estimates, Global chart and commentary,” Comscore said in a statement. “We will update the status of studio reporting on Monday.”
Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, told Variety that there will be some revenues this weekend, thanks partly to drive-in movie theaters that have remained open.

Chad Michael Murray is joining the “Million Dollar Quartet.” Well, not really, because that was technically Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins — but Murray will play rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Sam Phillips on Cmt’s upcoming “Million Dollar Quartet.” Additionally, Jennifer Holland will play wife Becky Phillips; Margaret Anne Florence portrays his assistant-turned-girlfriend Marion Keisker. They’ll join Drake Milligan (Elvis Presley), Kevin Fonteyne (Johnny Cash), Christian Lees (Jerry Lee Lewis) and Jonah Lees (Jimmy Swaggart) on the small-screen drama. Why Watch? Because sometimes you’re in the mood for a Women In Prison film. The modern world isn’t too keen on these types of flicks, but at least someone is. This short has all the soap opera stylings and far-too-attractive convicts that honor the past, while utilizing the tech of today for a slight update. The acting is exactly as stiff as it needs to be without being wooden, and the existential crisis is given even more weight with the claustrophobic way that it’s all shot. What happens when a prisoner slowly spirals to the end of her mental and medical rope? What Will It Cost? Just 14 minutes of your time. Does it get better any better than that? Check out Condemned for yourself: The Laundromat (2010) Written and Directed by: Oren Shai Starring: Margaret Anne Florence, Ashlie Atkinson, and Aprella Trust us. You have time for more short films.

A pretty female inmate is given a death sentence in Oren Shai‘s moody noir short film Condemned, embedded above. But, the twist here is that Inmate #1031 (Margaret Anne Florence) isn’t being sent to the electric chair by the state. Instead, she’s going to get the shiv from another prisoner if she dares to fall asleep in her cell. The lesson: Never snitch, and be particularly careful if the warden tries to trick you into doing so.
This is a simple film with Shai focusing almost exclusively on mood and character. All the action takes place in a single prison cell without much backstory to explain the events that we’re witnessing. That’s good because the backstory is superfluous. Shai isn’t trying to reinvent a genre. This is a tribute to classic women in prison movies.
Of course, there’s going to be trouble in prison.
