After his famed role as Don Draper on AMC’s critically acclaimed drama series Mad Men, Jon Hamm has experienced a particularly peculiar career transition in recent years. Also known for his work in Sucker Punch & Top Gun: Maverick, the actor, 53, has acted in both highly regarded film and TV roles during his career.
But did you know, nestled within his portfolio of work, there lies a film that has almost slipped through the cracks of cinematic memory?
John Hamm in Stolen | 2 Bridges Productions
In 2009, he took on the role in Stolen, a frequently overlooked chapter of Hamm’s life that true cinephiles may recall. Though the actor’s renowned charm and depth could elevate any role, this murder mystery remarkably stood as an endeavor that slipped past audiences and critics alike.

"You stand on the sideline too long, the game is gonna be over." Paramount Movies has revealed an official trailer for a psychological thriller titled Shadow Land, being dropped on VOD this summer. The latest from the same stuntman filmmaker behind Air Force One Down before. Haunted by relentless nightmares foretelling his untimely demise, Former President Robert Wainwright summons his past psychiatrist to his upstate residence who discovers the threat may be more real than imagined. With his trusted advisor, they embark on a mission to uncover the truth, navigating a dangerous path that could end up exposing a global crisis. This sounds like a completely crazy nonsensical script that is might be trying to comment on current events. But anyone with half a brain can see right through the Bs. Starring Jon Voight, Marton Csokas, Rhona Mitra, Philip Winchester, and Sean Maguire. It looks much more kooky than it does thrilling.

A reboot of Red Sonja spent nearly fifteen years in development hell before going into production in 2022 with director M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) at the helm. Before Bassett signed on, the project had passed through the hands of directors Robert Rodriguez, Simon West, Bryan Singer, and Joey Soloway, with Hannah John-Kamen, Rose McGowan, and Amber Heard being considered for the lead role. Matilda Lutz ended up starring in the film, and while we still don’t know when we’ll get to see her version of the title character in action, she did talk about the making of the film (and the metal bikini she had to wear in it) during an interview with Collider.
Lutz said she had a great experience working on Red Sonja, getting the chance to do stunts and horseback riding, to work with Bassett. She added, “What I think is different from what we know...

It may be difficult to think of a film series that is more aesthetically dated than the "Underworld" movies, and I include certain century-old silent movies in that statement. The first "Underworld" film was released in the fall of 2003, and it was infused with all the genre trappings of its era. The long black leather coats, the blue-tinted photography, the use of slow-motion, and the stoic-yet-capable badass heroes all reek of post-"Matrix" malaise, appealing only to young people who were 16 in September of 2003. What's more, the film's soundtrack featured some terrible metal tunes that old-world metalheads found to be shrill and whiny. Sorry, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and The Icarus Line.
The premise of "Underworld" sounds fun on paper, but the bleak, steely tone of the movie made the movie less-than-fun to watch. For centuries, vampires and werewolves — called Lycans — have been at war, killing each other out of sight from the human world.

Copland was supposed to be Sylvester Stallone’s comeback movie. Despite earning decent box office and generating Sly’s best reviews in decades, it seemed to be the final nail in his coffin as a leading man, and I don’t understand why. Before Copland, Stallone was headlining huge action movies like Daylight and Judge Dredd, and while they underperformed domestically and overseas, they were still big. One would think that Stallone would have been given an old-school action film to revive his career, but all of a sudden, he was slotted into cheap movies, such as the slasher thriller D-tox, which is also called Eye See You. That movie was so bad that it went direct-to-video, which pretty much meant the end of Stallone’s career for half a dozen years until he managed a major comeback with Rocky Balboa. It would get pretty dire for Sly, but Warner Bros...

When “Underworld” premiered in 2003, it was dismissed by critics, partly because its vamps, particularly Pvc-clad lead character Selene (Kate Beckinsale) hardly ever bite anyone. But the action-horror film, which costarred Scott Speedman, Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy, went on to spawn an entire franchise about the war between the Lycans and the Vampires.
If you want to watch the series in chronological order, you’d have to start with the second film, which is set in the early 15th century and doesn’t feature Selene at all.
Here’s how to watch all the “Underworld” movies in order.
Rhona Mitra and Michael Sheen (Screen Gems)
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009)
Although we got a hint of werewolf Lucian (Michael Sheen)’s tragic love story in the first “Underworld” film, this prequel tells how he fell in love with vampire Sonja (Rhona Mitra), despite the fact he was, essentially a slave to her father,...

Matt Damon dated a few notable talents before settling down with current wife Luciana Barroso. But all he needed was to date celebrities a couple of times before realizing he might’ve been better off with partners who weren’t famous.
Why Matt Damon refused to date other celebrities Matt Damon | Michael Loccisano/WireImage
Damon had a couple of public relationships with his fellow actors in the past. Perhaps his most known relationships at the time were with Winona Ryder and Minnie Driver. Although his relationships with either didn’t last very long, Ryder and Driver still spoke very highly of their ex.
“Matt couldn’t be a greater, nicer guy. I’m really lucky that I’m on good terms with him,” Ryder once told Black Book (via Yahoo).
Meanwhile, Ranker reported that some of Damon’s lesser known celebrity flings included Claire Danes and Underworld star Rhona Mitra.

Near the end of August, it was announced that the long-awaited Red Sonja reboot was filming with M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) directing and Matilda Lutz (Revenge) taking on the lead role. In early September, we heard that Oliver Trevena (The Rising Hawk) had joined Lutz in the cast – and Trevena’s character was the only one, other than Red Sonja herself, we ever got a description of. The actor had been cast as Tr’aal, “a gladiator-type warrior who joins Sonja in her fight against an evil emperor”. Unfortunately Deadline reports that Trevena has since had to drop out of Red Sonja due to scheduling issues. They also report that Rhona Mitra of Doomsday and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is in the cast, but no details about her character have been revealed.

Tessa Thompson (Westworld) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Super Pumped) are attached to star in the sci-fi thriller Ash, which the Grammy-winning musician and filmmaker Flying Lotus — otherwise known as Steven Ellison — will direct as his sophomore feature, as we first reported in January. Neill Blomkamp (District 9) has since then come aboard to exec produce the pic, which its financier XYZ Films will rep for worldwide sales at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
While at TIFF to meet with key buyers for Ash, Flying Lotus will appear in support of his segment of V/H/S/99, which is having its world premiere in the Midnight section of the festival.
The new film, for which the multi-hyphenate will also compose an original score, watches as a woman (Thompson) wakes up on a distant planet and finds the crew of her space station viciously killed, and must then decide if she can trust...

"Your eyes are getting worse!" Gravitas Ventures has unveiled a trailer for The Other Me, an indie drama from a Georgian filmmaker named Giga Agladze. This was quietly dumped this month without marketing or promotion at all, and no festival debuts. Jim Sturgess stars as an architect who is diagnosed with a rare eye disease, sending him into a surreal reality in which he sees people's "true motives". As these visions get more intolerable, he falls for a mysterious woman and confronts the truth about his own identity. The film's cast also includes Rhona Mitra, Orla Brady, Andreja Pejic, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, and Jordi Mollà. It's also executive produced by David Lynch, which is a bit strange. But this whole trailer is strange. There's one weird shot of shadowy figures, but the rest of it is just Sturgess going around yelling at nobody? Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Giga Agladze's The Other Me,...

Georgian writer-director-producer Giga Agladze has been a musician, a documentarian and Caucasus regional director of the Transcendental Meditation-focused David Lynch Foundation. Yet none of those things has any obvious bearing on, or makes much sense of, his debut directorial feature—apart from Lynch being on board as a prominently billed executive producer.
Shot in 2019 Tbilisi with a largely British cast, “The Other Me” has Jim Sturgess as a man whose sudden-onset blindness is sometimes literal, sometimes metaphorical, sometimes both. That’s symptomatic of . Its cast struggling against material with little real-world or emotional logic, the attempted “surreal” elements uninspired both conceptually and aesthetically, this is a misfire whose intentions are as murky as its results are hapless. Gravitas Ventures is opening on 10 or more U.S. screens on Feb. 4, simultaneous with release to digital platforms.

Steve Alexander has left ICM Partners after seven years as a partner on the heels of an expose in the Los Angeles Times that included allegations of sexual misconduct against the veteran agent.
Alexander is accused of having exposed himself to a male industry executive while the two were driving in Alexander’s car in 2016. The executive was said to have reported the allegations to ICM, which put Alexander on a temporary leave at the time. Sources close to the agency said that although the situation had been formally addressed with Alexander in 2016, it became a PR problem for the agency amid the #MeToo movement against sexual misconduct, especially after the allegation was reported by the Times in May.
An ICM Partners spokesman would not elaborate on the reason for Alexander’s departure.
“Steve Alexander is no longer employed at ICM,” the spokesman said. Alexander could not immediately be reached for comment.

A roboticist, George Almore, is on the verge of a breakthrough. Stationed at a remote, secret facility, he has been working on a model that is a true, human equivalent android. His latest prototype, J3, is almost complete.
Development of J3 has been achieved through two earlier prototypes, J1 and J2. Each prototype is an increasingly advanced version of his wife, Jules, who died in a brutal car crash. Driven by love for Jules, George has secretly skewed the focus of his work: developing the robots towards the goal of creating a simulacra of Jules.
As his work approaches its final and riskiest stages, external forces threaten to discover and shutdown his facility while the introduction of the highly advanced J3 collapses the delicate ‘family’ balance inside the facility.

When I started watching Skylines, I’ll admit the first thing that surprised me was that this is in fact the third movie. Thankfully with the recap given, this didn’t stop me from enjoying what was to come…
With the friendly alien hybrids now living on Earth, danger looms as a new virus starts to turn them against humans. Captain Rose Corley (Lindsey Morgan) finds herself coerced into leading an elite team of mercenaries on a mission to alien home world in order to try to save what is left of humanity.
The first thing I liked about Skylines is the fact there are plenty of familiar faces who are dependable at providing strong performances.

To celebrate the release of Skylines, the third and final part of the Skyline trilogy, we sat down with its eclectic cast and filmmakers to find out all about the thrilling third chapter.
Set several years after Skyline and Beyond Skyline, Skylines sees the remaining soldiers on the invaded Earth take the fight to them, heading to their home planet of Colbalt1 to save us all after those aliens living peacefully soon become hostile due to a deadly virus.
Director Liam O’Donnell tells us of the unique challenges of making a third film – and, yes, talk of Batman, Godfather, and more are discussed – whilst still breaking new ground with the story. While cast members Lindsey Morgan, Alexander Siddig, and Daniel Bernhardt tell us about the thrill of making the film and, despite its vast, sci-fi action nature, there are much deeper messages and themes in it than the audience may expect.

2020 may well end up being one of the worse years in recent memory but when we look back at this year, there will be at least one moment of joy in all of it: the release of Skylines.
Hard to believe that it's been ten years since the surprise hit that was Skyline but here we are, three movies and knee deep in mythology and world-building that has lead us to the final showdown. Writer/director Liam O'Donnell returns for the latest installment which stars Lindsey Morgan (one of the best parts of "The 100") as Captain Rose Corley, the leader of an elite team of soldiers sent on a mission to the alien home world in an a last ditch effort to save what's left of the human race.
The new movie also co-stars Jonathan Howard, Rhona Mitra, Alexander Siddig and James Cosmo.

I had initially started this review with a brief history of the place in my heart that I have for the Skyline franchise but you know what? Let me just say that I am a total sci-fi nerd, I love alien invasion film and I especially love a flick that has the balls to have insane ambition and looks to create a wide reaching universe. Skyline has always been that franchise! A franchise that knows exactly what it is and where it wants to be; a franchise that for the budget they have, always pulls out the stops and impresses from start to finish; a franchise that lets be honest doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

"We'll have to push beyond our limits." Vertical Ent. has released an official trailer for sci-fi action sequel Skylin3s (aka Skyline 3), from writer / director Liam O'Donnell, with VFX by UK's LipSync. In Skyline (2010) the alien invasion began... in Beyond Skyline (2017) the earth fought back... in Skylin3s, the highly anticipated third installment of the hit sci-fi franchise, an elite team heads to the alien's home planet on a final desperate mission to save humanity. Sounds a bit like Starship Troopers, no?
