Cold Case may be returning to CBS. The network is considering a reboot of the police procedural drama created by Meredith Stiehm. The original series aired on CBS for seven seasons before it was cancelled in 2010.
Kathryn Morris, Justin Chambers, Thom Barry, John Finn, Jeremy Ratchford, Danny Pino, Sarah Brown, and Tracie Thoms star in the original Cold Case series. The story follows Philadelphia Police Detective Lilly Rush (Morris) and her team as they work to solve investigations that are no longer being actively pursued by the department.

CBS is looking to reopen Cold Case. A reboot of the crime procedural, which aired for seven seasons from 2003 to 2010, is currently in development at the Eye Network, our sister site Deadline reports.
Fifteen years after the original series ended, this new iteration would follow an entirely different group of detectives dedicated to investigating unsolved crimes. Though additional details are being kept under wraps, one confirmed change from the original series is its setting; the reboot would take place in the Southwest, whereas the original was set in Philadelphia.

Exclusive: After bringing back CSI: Crime Scene Investigation with CSI: Vegas, CBS is looking to revive another Jerry Bruckheimer Television-produced crime procedural from the 2000s. The network is in negotiations with Warner Bros. TV for a reboot of Cold Case, which aired on CBS for seven seasons from 2003-2010, Deadline has learned. The followup comes from the series’ creator/executive producer Meredith Stiehm.
Set 15 years after the original series’ final episode, the untitled Cold Case reboot would follow a new team of tenacious detectives who investigate cold cases across the Southwest.
This is a new location as the original Cold Case was set in Philadelphia. The move would allow the potential new series to introduce a new group of characters as they tackle unsolved homicides.
Steihm is writing the script. She is executive producing with Jbtv’s Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed for Wbtv and CBS Studios. Talks between...

The whole idea of ‘anything you can do I can do better’ has been a part of business for a long, long time now, but in a way, YouTube is using this approach in kind of a childish manner that might backfire on them if they’re not careful. As John Finn of Screenrant tells it, TikTok subscribers might not really care if YouTube is setting their sights on upending TikTok, as the latter service has been growing in popularity over the years without any indication that they’re bound to stop. When it comes to business it does tend to appear

“The Walking Dead” is ruthless when it comes to killing off series regulars. It doesn’t matter if the character is an innocent child, a fierce warrior, or played by an acclaimed actor. No one is safe in the zombie apocalypse. Season 10 has upheld that motto thanks to a recent triple homicide in episode 12 “Walk With Us.”
Mary (Thora Birch) faced the reaper first. Mary defected from the Whisperers (where she was called Gamma) and aided the allied communities in the war. In a redemptive act, she saves her baby nephew Adam, Alden and Kelly by diverting a pack of walkers. Though she slays the zombies, Mary is ambushed by Beta (Ryan Hurst), who brutally guts her with a knife. The brute leaves her to die and rise again, but luckily Alden puts Mary down before she can join Beta’s undead army.

(This article contains only the biggest spoilers from the March 15 episode of “The Walking Dead” on AMC)
Since it’s based on a comic book, “The Walking Dead” doesn’t catch us completely off guard all that often. But it happened this week, in an episode that featured three major character deaths. But while the deaths were themselves a bit surprising, but what came after them, at the very end of the episode, was the real shocker.
The first death, Gamma (Thora Birch), we didn’t see coming because, well, that character is original to the show, and so she had been a wild card the whole time. The second death, Earl Sutton (John Finn), was tragic, as we had already seen his wife and son die at different points last season. So now his whole family is just gone.
And the third death we’ve been waiting for all year.

This Walking Dead article contains spoilers.
The 12th episode of The Walking Dead season 10, titled “Walk With Us,” opens with a riveting and apocalyptic battle sequence that ends way too quickly. It’s a five-minute scene in which everything in the settlement is on fire, including the mansion at its center. Fast cuts of Daryl, Carol, Ezekiel, Rosita, Aaron, Yumiko, Eugene, Lydia, and more fighting off the walker horde with archaic weapons drive the scene toward its inevitable conclusion –the Hilltop won’t survive this Whisperer assault. The heroes must abandon their home.
The beautifully-shot fall of the Hilltop ranks among director Greg Nicotero’s very best contributions to the series. Set at night in a backdrop of bright flames, it plays like The Walking Dead‘s own version of “The Long Night.” It’s a shame that AMC didn’t give the show the budget to stretch this battle...

The fighters on the frontline of the battle have managed to retreat inside Hilltop’s walls, but flames engulf the entire town. Carol (Melissa McBride) picks off walkers from her archer tower, but the horde is overwhelming. Ezekiel (Khary Payton) gathers the children and ushers them to an exit, but Judith (Cailey Fleming) has gone missing. The “little ass kicker” is taking out a group of the undead with her sword,...

In the history of problematic features that come with various services this is probably one of those that is among the least intense out of any others despite how John Finn of Screenrant describes it. The Netflix autoplay that was implemented and occurs when a user places their cursor on a title is kind of annoying at times since it can be distracting, but overall it’s not the worst thing that’s ever happened. All the same however Netflix has heard the subscribers as many have reported this and have asked how to shut it down, so they’ve responded. It does

James Gray aims for the stars in his ‘to the stars’ picture and he almost gets there. Lost between our world and his, the Ad Astra lands somewhere between what could have been greatness and what, in the end, falls short.
Another performance from Brad Pitt, aiming for the bleachers, sees him playing Astronaut Roy McBride. The film follows McBride as he undertakes a mission across an unforgiving solar system to uncover the truth about his missing father and his doomed expedition that now, 30 years later, threatens the universe.
The movie is far deeper than that plot can ever detail, it also captures something that is almost impossible to explain.

If history has proven anything it’s that the newcomers that develop and unleash a new idea for the people are going to come under fire eventually in one way or another. As John Finn of ScreenRant talks about Netflix is now feeling the heat, and might feel it even more in 2020 as it’s been announced that they might actually lose millions of subscribers due to the cost of the service. That’s kind of hard to believe since Netflix was able to beat out cable companies quite easily when it first came in. But then you might want to sit

It’s a rare thing to see an artist’s worldview change overnight. For decades, Nick Cave has been goth rock’s hyperliterate poet laureate, famous for his intricately molded stories about rogues and “badlanders” all in the throes of anguish. (He has also always written beautiful love songs.) But where writing about doom and despair once seemed like a lark — see “Stagger Lee,” John Finn’s Wife,” Murder Ballads, etc. — the freak death of his 15-year-old son Arthur four years ago rightfully shook him to his core. His last album,...

Thanks to IMAX we’ve got a new trailer to share with you for Brad Pitt’s upcoming sci-fi space exploration film Ad Astra. The trailer is packed full of new footage and offers us a bit more insight on the story. In my opinion, it’s the best trailer yet, and it shows off some stunning visuals.
The James Grey (The Lost City of Z) directed film follows Pitt’s character as he embarks on a mission into space to find his missing dad, who is played by Tommy Lee Jones. As the fate of all life on Earth hangs in the balance, his dad holds the answers to what is happening.

Roger Ailes in 1996 supervised the launch of a multibillion-dollar business few people thought would ever get off the ground. In 2019 he may have a posthumous hand in instigating something equally complex: a ripped-from-the-headlines drama about the media industry, complete with portrayals of people who still help make it run.
If that foray is successful, plenty of similar stories are waiting in the wings.
Ailes, who died in 2017, oversaw the debut and massive growth of Fox News Channel, a creation that both admirers and detractors acknowledge has changed the face of U.S. politics and news. On June 30, Showtime debuts miniseries “The Loudest Voice,” a warts-and-all account of Ailes’ early days building the outlet — and his later years, when former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson’s accusations of sexual harassment forced the network’s parent company to oust him, and sparked a spate of unsavory revelations about internal culture at media...

Brad Pitt is launching into the stratosphere in the first trailer for “Ad Astra.” The dazzling sci-fi drama stars Pitt as an astronaut who travels on an interstellar mission to search for his missing father.
The new footage begins with Pitt’s character, Roy McBride, praising his father, who never returned from a voyage to search for signs of extra-terrestrial life.
“I do what I do because of my dad,” he says. “He was a hero. He gave his life for the pursuit of knowledge.”
The clip cuts to McBride, who wakes up in a hospital room after free-falling from dizzying heights when his space mission seemingly goes astray.
“It’s crazy out there,” his wife, played by Liv Tyler, says. “There’s fires everywhere and plane crashes. They’re calling it a surge.”
The astronaut is soon called to compete a mission to save the planet.

The first trailer has finally been released for Brad Pitt’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Ad Astra, which was directed by James Grey (The Lost City of Z). In the film, Pitt embarks on a mission into space to find his missing dad, who is played by Tommy Lee Jones, and, of course, save the Earth.
This film has been in development since 2017! The director previously explained that he’s working on the special effects in the film to make sure that they were just right. After all, this is his first big VFX movie. He’s explained, “I’ve been very insistent because I didn’t want to be up against a release date. Science fiction films (often) have a number of shots that don’t look very good.” He had to review over 600 VFX shots and make sure they were up to his standards.
I’m looking forward to this movie!

The Walking Dead TV series is heading toward one of the comic book’s most brutally iconic moments this week.
Warning: Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 9!
Viewers of AMC’s The Walking Dead who are unacquainted with the show’s comic book source material might dismiss the current group of antagonists, the skin-mask-wearing Whisperers, as yet another freaky result of savage, post-apocalyptic societal devolution who will inevitably get their asses handed to them by the show’s vigilant survivor communities of Alexandria, Hilltop and the Kingdom. However, those viewers are going to be surprised by this week’s episode, “The Calm Before,” which is the penultimate chapter of Season 9.
Indeed, The Walking Dead‘s official Twitter account– evoking imagery from Game of Thrones’ infamously iconic main character massacre, “The Red Wedding” – just affirmed the notion that the show is in store for a monumental moment that...

When characters in a movie are having a good time, it’s hard to completely resist their charms. Such is the case with Finding Steve McQueen, a jaunty heist tale that has more than its fair share of fun, even if the final product is on the sleight side. This is the sort of picture that, depending on how and when you watch it, will determine in large part what your feelings are. If you were to see it on cable or on a plane, for example, it would certainly satisfy and pass the time. In theaters or On Demand, however? There, it comes up a little short of the necessary mark. The film is a mix of a crime caper and a bit of a romance as well. In 1980, Harry Barber (Travis Fimmel) begins to tell his girlfriend Molly Murphy (Rachel Taylor) a story. Back in 1972, a group of thieves from Youngstown,...

Chicago – The “caper” film, Aka the heist film, is one of the old reliable genres in the movies, and usually involves a gang of mismatched thieves. “Finding Steve McQueen” goes all the way back to the 1970s to spotlight a based-on-truth burglary that involves Tricky Dick himself, President Richard M. Nixon.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
The gang is led by the underrated character actor William Fichtner (probably best known as the gun-waving astronaut in ‘Armageddon”), who depends on a dim-but-reliable car enthusiast played by Travis Fimmel, whose story is the focus of the film. The title is a reference to the Fimmel character’s love for the King of Cool, movie star Steve McQueen, and many of the film’s incidences either alludes to or directly comments upon McQueen’s films. Director Mark Steven Johnson (“Ghost Rider”) also does some fancy timeline jumping, as the film begins in 1980, but tells the story of...

The Dinsio Brothers and their accomplices stole around nine million dollars from four hundred-plus safety deposit boxes inside the United California Bank of Laguna Niguel. To read Amil Dinsio’s website is to learn of his self-proclaimed “master” exploits and how the FBI sought to frame him for the job before discovering the evidence necessary to prove he did it. Maybe there’s a movie there, but probably not. The world simply doesn’t need another self-serious drama projecting the smarts it takes to pull off the “perfect” heist despite still inevitably getting caught. So screenwriters Ken Hixon and Keith Sharon looked beyond the Dinsios to uncover their nephew Harry Barber as a more entertaining entry point. This burglary could acquire the necessary humor to render it appealing through him instead.
As a result, Mark Steven Johnson’s Finding Steve McQueen is less about the crime than how Harry (Travis Fimmel...

The fair is almost here. Season 9 of “The Walking Dead” is galloping towards this moment, where in theory, all four united communities will gather together for the first time in years. Homemade banners (reminiscent of house banners from “Game of Thrones”) for each community are even unfurled in The Kingdom in celebration. But the road to this festive occasion proves fraught. Some survivors are pursued by Whisperers, while others encounter a strange new group. Check out the five most memorable moments of “Chokepoint.”

The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 2
Rick Grimes and his friends are working hard to build a new world. The remains of the old world, as established, are increasingly becoming a thing of the past. No gasoline, no canned goods, and a crumbling infrastructure that is making travel and trade between the sprawling collection of city-states difficult, if not impossible. Without tractors, modern farming is impossible. Without food, life is impossible. Sure, plows and wagons will help, but there's only so much that can be done, and the zombie menace is omnipresent, especially considering that bullets must be hand-filled and recycled. The only way to accomplish any big project is via lots and lots of manpower, so that means when the bridge needs to be rebuilt,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not keep reading if you have not seen “The Walking Dead” Season 9, Episode 2, titled “The Bridge.”
This week’s episode of “The Walking Dead” opens with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) addressing an unseen person, whom viewers of the Season 9 Comic-Con trailer already know to be Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). As Rick tells him about the progress all the communities are making together, with the camera moving through a camp the groups have set up as they work to repair the bridge that was seen to have collapsed in the season premiere. Rick rejoices that people not simply fighting for survival anymore, but rather are building something for the future.
Construction on the bridge is moving along, but Rick learns that a herd of about 100 walkers is getting closer and will no doubt be drawn closer when they use the explosives they need to proceed with construction. Luckily, our...

Angela Kang came in with a bang in her first outing as the showrunner for “The Walking Dead.”
The Season 9 premiere was an impressive mix of action, horror, comedy, and genuine emotion, hearkening back to some of the best episodes in the show’s history.
The premiere opens with a quick look at Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Sanctuary, which are all more built up after the time jump from the Season 8 finale. People are now riding on horseback due to the increasing scarcity of gasoline, while Alexandria has lined its streets with solar panels. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) spend some time with Judith, while Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt) work on producing corn ethanol fuel at the Sanctuary.

Rick and Negan fought each other for two straight years, and it felt like five. Carl got bit, but before he died he told Rick that “destroy all your enemies” probably wasn’t the best plan for humanity’s long-term prospects. Eugene single-handedly won the war by sabotaging the Saviors’ weapons, and Rick spared Negan’s life (while still slashing his throat). Time to rebuild society, baby!
A Fresh Start
Season 9 has a brand-new showrunner in longtime producer Angela Kang, and with the Negan war in the rearview mirror, Kang wastes no time in establishing the new status quo. The premiere isn’t called “A New Beginning” for nothing. There’s a significant time jump of a year or more (the show has always been a bit dodgy with the passage of time) and the core conflict is not between Rick’s team and a pack of savage murderers,...

Smiles are few and far between in the dozen images from Season 9 of The Walking Dead that AMC dropped Thursday. In particular, Rick (the soon-to-depart Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) wear expressions that are so grim, they’d look right at home at a funeral.
But the pictures don’t paint an altogether bleak portrait of the series’ new world order. They also give us glimpses of the gang working together and giddy-upping through the woods, and there’s even a too-sweet shot of a couple that apparently has finally officially become a couple. The end is near for Rick Grimes. As expected, Andrew Lincoln confirmed on Friday that the upcoming season of “The Walking Dead” will be his last.
“I love this show, it means everything to me,” he told the audience at “The Walking Dead” San Diego Comic-Con panel. “I love the people who make this show. I’m particularly fond of the people who watch this show. This has been the most extraordinary, amazing and beautiful experience of my career. I don’t want to turn this in to an Oscar acceptance speech or an obituary, as we’re deeply proud of the work we’ve done this season.”
Lincoln and the show’s producers declined to elaborate on how Rick would depart the show, but Lincoln added that “my relationship with Mr. Grimes is far from over. He’s a large part of me… I’m really excited about this season.

The cast of The Walking Dead is going to keep growing in season 9, as it looks like as many as 11 new characters could be joining AMC’s hit zombie drama in its latest run.

From what we understand, these new additions are to be played by folks such as Lauren Ridloff, Gustavo Gomez, John Finn, Zach McGowan, Brett Butler and dancer/choreographer Angel Theory.

"You want to make them pay for what they did to you?" Lionsgate has debuted the first official trailer for a new crime thriller titled Bent, from NYC-raised director Bobby Moresco, based on the novel titled "Deadly Codes". Bent stars Karl Urban as a shamed former cop now working as a private investigator. He ends up in over his head following a government conspiracy involving rogue agents from a top spy agency. The full cast includes Sofía Vergara, Andy Garcia, Vincent Spano, John Finn, Grace Byers, Tonya Cornelisse, and Patrick Brennan. As cool as this sounds, it looks like pretty much every other gritty ex-cop crime thriller, which is a shame, because Urban deserves better roles than this. Not sure it's going to be any good. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Bobby Moresco's Bent, originally from Collider: When a drug bust goes wrong, ex-cop Danny Gallagher's (Karl...
