Rian Johnson’s Knives Out 3 details are still under a wrap, but the whole mystery unveils itself step by step, and fans are surely having fun while waiting for the movie to hit Netflix.
It’s been no secret for a while that Daniel Craig will be back to his role of iconic quirky detective Benoit Blanc and Rian Johnson will be writing and directing, just like he did with two previous flicks of the Knives Out franchise.
Now that the future movie finally got its first teaser that actually says a lot about what we may expect to see, it still keeps a secret about the film’s cast. Luckily, internet users have their own suggestions.

“You killed my son! And, now, I kill you and I can’t think of anything more rational.”
Compared to traditional slasher fare, there are many things that set the Scream franchise apart: multiple survivors, metatextual commentary, Matthew Lillard, the list goes on and on. But one of the most unique aspects of this beloved string of films is the fact that anyone and everyone could be the killer. With no supernatural elements or sub-human weapon-wielders, only a confirmed kill can eliminate a character from the suspect list. Many charismatic villains have donned the ominous Ghostface mask, but none so complex as the one revealed in Scream 2. Running on vengeance, grief, and motherly love, Mrs. Loomis (Laurie Metcalf) manipulates a psychotic young man and picks up the knife herself in an elaborate plan to seek revenge for the death of her son.

Blumhouse has announced a trio of upcoming horror movie release dates today, the first of which is the official date for the sequel to hit video game movie Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will release in theaters December 5, 2025.
Released in theaters and available for streaming on Peacock on the same day, the Emma Tammi-directed Five Night’s at Freddy’s was Blumhouse’s highest grossing movie of all time. In other words, it’s no surprise that the sequel was quickly greenlit.
In last year’s horror movie, “After accepting a security guard job from Steve, Mike (Josh Hutcherson; The Hunger Games Franchise) discovers an abandoned restaurant may actually be haunted by murderous animatronics.”
Two other upcoming Blumhouse sequels have also received new dates, with M3GAN 2.0 now coming to theaters on June 27, 2025, previously announced for May 16, 2025.

James Patterson‘s most popular fictional figure is getting another screen adaptation in Cross, and from the looks of the first trailer, this Amazon Prime Video original is going to be a doozy. Here’s everything you need to know about the show. Who stars in Cross? The first season cast includes, in addition to Hodge, New Amsterdam‘s Ryan Eggold and Shadowhunters‘ Isaiah Mustafa. Johnny Ray Gill, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, and Eloise Mumford also feature. Ben Watkins is showrunner and executive producer. We’re currently in the era of movies and shows adapted from fan-favorite and long-standing video games, and so many fans are here for it. From last year’s big hit The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal to the most recent Prime Video’s bombshell Fallout, the video game world is currently taking over the modern cinema with never-ending ideas for sequels and following seasons.
Last year was also marked by Five Nights at Freddy’s, another major release based on a popular game franchise, and the overall success was so grand that a sequel didn’t take too long to be announced.
While there’s still nothing to know for sure about the upcoming second film, the nascent franchise still needs to keep in mind some major aspects of the original game to stay afloat on the same level of thriving in the future.

Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford were major players in the original Star Wars trilogy as Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. As part of the Resistance fighting to bring down the tyrannical Empire, the two played integral roles in bringing it down. While the first film set up the world and the overall rivalry between the two, the sequels go all out with their war against each other.
Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: A New Hope
The iconic lightsaber fight from Empire Strikes Back, and the twist, remain the most iconic moments in the franchise. Luke’s lightsaber was put on auction in 2017, a year before the passing of the franchise’s producer Gary Kurtz. The price of the lightsaber was less than Ford’s combined salary for the original trilogy.

“And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids.” This is undoubtedly one of the most famous lines in the history of animated television and practically everyone will recognize it as the most famous phrase from the Scooby-Doo series. The phrase usually signified the end of a case when Scooby and the gang would explain the solution and prove that the guy they caught in the costume red-handed did it. The villain would then utter these words, cursing his ill-fated encounter with Mystery Inc., without which his plan would have succeeded, as it was otherwise perfect.
While the Scooby-Doo series is primarily an animated work, there have been live-action and CGI adaptations of the series as well. And while the CGI Scoob! movie was better received than the live-action movies, no adaptation has managed to come even close to the charm of the original animated series,...

Seems like the question “Scooby-Doo, where are you?” soon will become very unnecessary — we know that it’ll be on Netflix.
The recent news concerning the fan-favorite cartoon franchise has just made it officially clear that Netflix is planning a big live-action reboot for Scooby-Doo’s story. The previous attempt to revive the story of detective teenagers with a troublemaking dog was made by HBO back in 2023 and eventually turned out to be a flop.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, for Scooby-Doo's new installment Netflix is teaming up with its frequent writer and producer Greg Berlanti famous for his work on the streaming’s hits like Riverdale, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and You.
No significant details about the upcoming remake have been revealed yet, but the show is described as “live-action update of the classic cartoon” thus making it unclear whether it will have connections with other live-action installments of Hanna-Barbera’s beloved story.

Despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews, the live-action Scooby-Doo movies remain beloved among fans of the Mystery Inc. gang. A threequel appears to be off the table, but Variety (via Toonado.com) is reporting that a new live-action TV series is in the works and heading to Netflix.
No plot details have been revealed, but the one-hour drama project is nearing a deal at the streamer with a script-to-series commitment. Based on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon of the same name, Warner Bros. Television is producing the project with Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg (Cowboy Bepop) serving as writers and executive producers.
André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner will also executive produce under their Midnight Radio banner, while Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman will take on the same role through Berlanti Productions.

Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc gang are heading back to the small screen in a live action series for Netflix, here are the details.
Jinkies: Netflix has ordered a live action Scooby Doo television series. No casting details have been confirmed, but we do know (thanks to a Deadline report) that it will be written by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg – the same Scott Rosenberg who penned Con Air, one of the greatest action films of the 1990s.
This isn’t, of course, the first time Hanna Barbera’s cartoon has been reworked in live-action. Long before James Gunn took creative control of the DC Extended Universe, he was a prolific screenwriter, and arguably his most successful films, at the box office at least, were 2002’s Scooby Doo and 2004’s Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.
The films brought the classic cartoon to life with a pitch perfect cast – Matthew Lillard...

Mystery Inc. rides again! Variety is reporting that the long-running "Scooby-Doo" franchise may be making a leap back to the live-action world, this time courtesy of Netflix. Sources tell the outlet that, unlike past versions of the Hanna-Barbera-created franchise, the new series won't be a comedic mystery but a one-hour drama series. Warner Bros. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman will executive produce the project via their Berlanti Productions banner.

A classic Warner Bros. IP is headed to Netflix with a reimagining from one of the studio’s top TV producers. In a competitive situation with multiple bidders, the streamer has landed Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series, from Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, where the company is based, sources tell Deadline.
Written by Josh Appelbaum & Scott Rosenberg (Cowboy Bebop) based on characters created by Hanna-Barbera, Scooby-Doo! is a live-action update of the popular cartoon.
In a tough TV marketplace, the drama project garnered interest from top buyers, ending up at Netflix with a premium, script-to-series commitment, sources said. Reps for Netflix and Wbtv declined comment.

Greg Berlanti and Netflix are going for a ride in the Mystery Machine.
The streaming giant is near a deal for a live-action TV series based on the beloved Hanna-Barbera animated cartoon Scooby-Doo. The project has a script-to-series commitment at Netflix, meaning if the script is well received, it would trigger a straight-to-series order for what is considered a live-action update of the classic cartoon.
Reps for Netflix, producers Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions declined to comment, as a deal has not yet formally closed.
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg — who previously adapted Cowboy Bebop for Netflix and High Fidelity for Hulu — are attached to pen the script and exec produce via their Midnight Radio banner’s André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner. Actor David Dastmalchian, who was recently seen in the horror films The Boogeyman, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, and Late Night with the Devil, has just launched a new talk show called Grave Conversations, with “first guest” honors going to actress Kate Siegel, whose credits include Hush, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Fall of the House of Usher. Grave Conversations interviews are expected to last just six to eight minutes and can be viewed on the official Instagram page. What makes Grave Conversations stand out from other talk shows, other than having Dastmalchian as the host, is the fact that interviews are conducted while Dastmalchian and his guest are both lying in Titan caskets.
Dastmalchian told Forbes, “After playing a talk show host in my most recent film Late Night with the Devil, I felt myself longing to take the...

A concept for a talk show with horror guests that just makes so much sense! Fresh off of the release of Late Night with the Devil, I'm very excited that David Dastmalchian is continuing his hosting duties in Grave Conversations, a weekly talk show released every Wednesday on Instagram, where the interview is conducted from within their own caskets:
“Grave Conversations” promises viewers an unforgettable journey into the depths of human existence, while Dastmalchian guides his guests through discussions that delve into personal reflections on mortality, legacy, and the afterlife, all while lying down in Titan caskets. Episode one will feature actress Kate Siegel (“The Fall of the House of Usher”) with episode two bringing prolific filmmaker and showrunner Mike Flanagan, and lastly actor Matthew Lillard (“Five Nights at Freddy’s”) joins Dastmalchian for his time, in the casket.

The upcoming film The Life of Chuck is the latest Stephen King adaptation from Mike Flanagan, who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing a series adaptation of The Dark Tower for Amazon Studios) – but it is not a horror movie. Flanagan has let it be known that this isn’t horror, and cast member David Dastmalchian has said the same in a new interview with Gizmodo, describing the film and elements in it as beautiful and heartbreaking.
Dastmalchian, who was also in the recent King adaptation The Boogeyman, said (with thanks to Coming Soon for the transcription), “It’s beautiful. You think, ‘Oh, Mike Flanagan, Stephen King, this thing’s going to just be the most horrifying, terrifying, thing you’ve ever seen.’ [But] it is so beautifully rendered, heartfelt, the drama, the performances. The cast in this is deep.

Matthew Lillard knows the power of fandoms.
He’s been surrounded by them for decades, having played iconic characters in everything from Scream to Scooby-Doo to Five Nights at Freddy’s, and now his liquor company Find Familiar Spirits is partying up with Critical Role to launch a limited-edition collectible liquor based on their first campaign, Vox Machina.
The liquor, Sandkheg’s Hide, comes straight from episode 65 of the campaign, where Travis Willingham‘s character Grog buys a couple bottles and promptly gets the gang smashed.
In Critical Role’s Dungeons & Dragons universe, Sandkheg’s Hide is secreted by giant insectoids. But Irl, Find Familiar Spirits’ master blender Ale Ochoa made the drink into a bourbon with notes of baked apple, brown spice, shortbread cookies, oak, herbs, dried red fruit, and “a hint of smoke.”
Each bottle ($99) also comes with a 44-page booklet with an original, canon short story written by Jasmine Bhullar,...

Melissa Barrera may have been fired from the “Scream” series, but she’s still very much a part of the franchise’s “family.”
Several “Scream” actors, including Mason Gooding, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich, attended the Los Angeles premiere of Barrera’s new horror movie, “Abigail” Wednesday night. “Abigail” is helmed by “Scream” (2022) and “Scream 6” co-directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known collectively as Radio Silence.
“Even after the project is over, we still have our chat,” Barrera told me. “They were all invited here and a lot of them from ‘Scream’ came and I think it says a lot. It says a lot about how true the love is. No one can ever take that away from us.”

Update: At CinemaCon, Universal confirmed they’ll be releasing Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 in Fall 2025.
The original article follows:
The video game adaptation Five Nights at Freddy’s (read our review Here) quickly became Blumhouse Productions’ highest-grossing movie when it reached theatres and the Peacock streaming service back in October, surpassing the likes of Split, The Invisible Man, The Black Phone, M3GAN, the recent Halloween sequel trilogy, and the Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and The Purge franchises with its haul of $295 million. So of course they’re developing a sequel, even if one hasn’t been officially announced yet. Five Nights at Freddy’s star Josh Hutcherson already said back in January that they were “nailing down the story” and hoping to get into production as soon as possible. We've got a huge and exciting news announcement to make fresh out of CinemaCon 2024, the highly-anticipated sequel to "Five Nights at Freddy's" will be heading to theaters in 2025. /Film's own Ryan Scott was in attendance when Universal made the announcement, a shocker to absolutely no one considering Blumhouse and Universal were fast-tracking a sequel to Emma Tammi's film adaptation of Scott Cawthon's impossibly popular video game franchise of the same name before the animatronic murder machines had a chance to recharge.
The decision was a result of the film's astronomically huge success at the box office, outperforming every other horror release of 2023, including Blumhouse and Universal's massive legacy film, "The Exorcist: Believer." What's even wilder is that "FNaF" went day-and-date with a streaming release on Peacock, meaning audiences had the opportunity to stay at home and scare themselves silly without having to dig into their pockets for tickets,...

It may have taken forever for the first Five Nights at Freddy’s movie to finally get off the ground, but it’s officially full steam ahead for the sequel.

Turn on the security cameras, because Freddy Fazbear is on the loose again. “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” one of 2023’s most unexpected box-office sensation, is getting a sequel from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse.
Jim Orr, Universal Pictures President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution, announced the news on Wednesday, during the company’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas. No other news about the film — such as a release window, creative team, or cast — was unveiled.
The announcement comes six months after “Five Nights at Freddy’s” became a hit at the October box office, where it grossed $297.2 million on a mere $20 million budget. A sequel film was probably greenlit by Act 3 of the first one.
The success of the film, an adaptation of the viral indie horror video game franchise by Scott Cawthon, was especially impressive given Universal’s decision to release it simultaneously in theaters and on the streaming service Peacock. The...

It may have taken forever for the first Five Nights at Freddy’s movie to finally get off the ground, but it looks like Blumhouse is wasting no time getting to work on the sequel.
Producer Jason Blum has taken to Twitter today to share a behind the scenes photo from inside Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, where the team is working on what we can only assume are the animatronic effects for upcoming sequel Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop of course provided the standout animatronics in last year’s hit movie.
Blum teases in his tweet this afternoon, “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is working their magic again! We aren’t sure what they’re working on, but we know it will be great!”
While the sequel had not been officially announced, it feels pretty safe to say that this tweet from Blum today is that official announcement.

Exclusive: After more than a decade, Silver Lining Entertainment, the management and production company founded by veterans Jeff Golenberg and Sam Maydew, is dissolving.
Golenberg and fellow Silver Lining partner Jason Shapiro have launched Strand Entertainment, a management and production company based in Los Angeles, bringing most of Silver Lining’s managers with them. Maydew has formed his own management/production company, 734 Media. The split we hear was amicable, with the former partners’ paths diverging, a process accelerated by the pandemic.
Joining Golenberg and Shapiro in their new venture are longtime colleagues Tarik Kanafani, Emily Rifanburg, Kaelyn Hutchins, and Aileen Lewis. Jeff’s brother, manager/producer Rob Golenberg, who was a partner at Silver Lining, has formed GoGi Entertainment, a new production company focused on international productions, with his former assistant Paulina Giron Velasquez. He also plans to continue to work alongside the Strand principals and their joint production entity,...

It’s an established fact that popular video games rarely make good movies, and so it proves with Five Nights at Freddy’s. Produced by Blumhouse and co-written by game creator Scott Cawthorn, the film should have been a fun little scarefest packed with creepy suspense moments, but instead it’s a drab disappointment thanks to a dismal and messy script that fails to capitalise on the game’s core appeal.
