Even though many great period TV shows have come out lately, half of them dip into romance in far too much detail for anyone to want to watch. If you're still traumatized by the infamous Bridgerton ladder scene, or just want to spend family night watching a period piece, check out the list below.
These 10 TV series prove that there is a way to present romance, intrigue, humor, and drama in a way that everyone can enjoy.
North and South (2004)
Although this story is romantic, there is a great emphasis on the historical background. The main character, Margaret Hale, is a southerner who is forced to move with her family to a northern city that has already been taken over by the new wave of industrialism. She must adapt to new customs and watch the world change before her eyes.

Each year we Grammy pundits theorize about who will get the most nominations, especially since they often win the most Grammys too. So who’s going to be this year’s lucky artist? Here are five possibilities.
SEE2024 Gold Derby Music Awards: Vote for nominations Now
21 Savage
The rapper might not be your first thought when it comes to maxing out on nominations, but his features might take him there. His biggest bet is “Creepin’” alongside Metro Boomin and The Weeknd. The track is submitted in three categories and could easily get in all three. Another good bet for Savage in the R&b field is Usher’s “Good Good,” which also features Summer Walker. “Good Good” and “Creepin’” can’t both be nominated in Best R&b Performance since that category is limited to one nomination per artist, but it’s likely that both show up in Best R...

Canada has brought its Online Streaming Act into law after years of heated debate.
The key impact of Bill C-11 is that streamers such as Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ will now be regulated by similar laws to those overseeing the country’s networks.
In practice, the streaming services are now required to “contribute to the creation and availability of Canadian stories and music” and “pay their fair share in supporting Canadian artists, just like traditional broadcasters,” as per government bill guidelines issued last year. Canadian networks are compelled to hit certain quotas to fulfil terms of their licenses.
Should streamers fail to comply, local regulator the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (Crtc) can impose fines and other penalties.
The bill passed a final hurdle in the Senate yesterday and received royal assent, meaning it is now Canadian law.
The new law has created passionate supporters and detractors since Justin Trudeau...

For its final season, Stranger Things has gone super-sized. Its episodes are longer, its storylines are multiple, its locations are further flung, and its cast has expanded beyond all reasonable measure. Even allowing for the usual body count replacement rate to fill in the gaps left by last season’s victims of the Upside Down, there are a lot of new faces.
To orient us through the new crowd, here’s an introduction to high school students Eddie, Chrissy, Jason, Argyle, Patrick, Angela, Vickie and their counsellor Ms Kelly; military types Dmitri and Lt. We still don't have a Stranger Things Season 4 premiere date, but we do have a shiny new teaser trailer.
Netflix on Saturday morning unveiled a new teaser trailer that reveals Eleven moved to California along with the Byerses.
It's been six months since the end of Stranger Things Season 3, and Eleven is struggling to fit in with her fellow classmates.
The good news is that she is still very much in contact with Mike and she's planning to have the best Spring Break ever.
The trailer also offers up some other exciting scenes, peeling away at a new mystery that will switch things up considerably.
Given that this teaser was set in California and even has "California" in the title, we're inclined to believe there will be other teaser trailers released today showing the characters in their new locations.

Stranger Things Day — November 6 (as in the date in 1983 that Will Byers went missing) — got off to a scary-good start this morning, with a Season 4 “location reveal” that turned out to be a proper, illuminating and thrilling teaser trailer.

Hey, Stranger Things. It’s been a while — a long while, actually. “To state the incredibly obvious, it’s been way, way, way, way too long, and it’s coming,” promises “Stranger Things” producer Shawn Levy of the highly anticipated Season 4.
Audiences last saw the residents of Hawkins in 2019 for the epic showdown against the Mind Flayer at the Starcourt Mall. The Season 3 finale closed with the beloved Jim Hopper (David Harbour) seemingly dead, the Byers family leaving town and the Russians’ facility destroyed…at least for now.
“Stranger Things” Season 4 is one of Netflix’s most anticipated titles, and after a delay in production due to the pandemic, Levy says he has spent the last couple of months shooting a large chunk of the season.
“I shot in Lithuania right before the pandemic. We have filmed in Georgia, Lithuania and New Mexico, so suffice to say Season 4 is sprawling,” he says. “It’s visually and narratively very ambitious, much more ambitious than the prior three seasons.

These days, it seems like every popular book series is getting a chance to shine on the small screen.
But with so many adaptations, there are bound to be some that fail to reach audience expectations. Some adaptations are just so terrible that we like to pretend they never existed.
However, with the news that Disney+ is officially rebooting the Percy Jackson books as television series, and Netflix's successful reboot of A Series of Unfortunate Events, we cannot help but think about other TV adaptations that deserve a second chance, too. Here are a few book-to-tv adaptations we think deserve another shot on television!
1. Pretty Little Liars
It is no surprise that Pretty Little Liars is the first show on our list. While we cannot imagine another cast as our beloved liars, the show quickly became a complete disaster, proving it deserves a second shot.

Netflix have released the names of four actors who are joining Stranger Things for its fourth season. Anne with an E fans will instantly notice Amybeth McNulty’s face in the line up; it is suggested she’ll be a love interest for one of the main characters. We’ll just have to wait and see if she and whoever it is will have the chemistry (and soaring harmonies) of Dusty Bun and Suzie Poos.
