Thomas Jane denied the lead role in The Walking Dead (2010) because of this show.
Alanna Ubach's first and only nude scenes. When asked during an interview in 2009 whether she would ever perform nude, Ubach said she definitely would but only if it was for an HBO or Showtime series. Right after that she was cast to appear in the first season of this show, which aired on HBO. When producers asked if she'd be willing to go fully nude, she said "Absolutely!" Ubach said she had been willing to appear topless in Still Waiting (2009), which she made before this, but producers used a body double because "they felt her boobs weren't big enough." When she went fully nude in Hung, she pointed out that "no one had any complaints about my small tits."
The season 1 marketing for this show includes a shot of a man (face not shown) putting on a sock with holes on his large foot. This has two clever meanings: first, the holes in the sock show that he's running short on money; second, the size of his foot is intended to play on the long-standing belief that the size of a man's feet is an indication of his "endowment."
Hung debuted the year after Breaking Bad, and has a noticeably similar premise. Both shows are about a high school teacher who resorts to an illegal activity in order to supplement his income.
Thomas Jane previously appeared in Boogie Nights (1997), which was also about a man making a living with a large penis.
