Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 is on the way. A recent blog post from author, series co-creator, and executive producer Rick Riordan reveals that they aim to have started filming Season 2 by this fall, and there are more production updates where that came from. Percy Jackson and the Olympians stars Walker Scobell as the titular demigod, the pre-teen son of human Sally Jackson (Virginia Kull) and Olympian god Poseidon (Toby Stephens). When Percy learns of his mythical abilities, he’s sent to Camp Half-Blood for protection with the help of his best friend/satyr protector, Grover (Aryan Simhadri). It’s at this training ground and demigod safe haven that Percy learns his favorite teacher, Mr. Brunner (Glynn Turman), is actually a centaur named Chiron, trainer of demigods. When Percy is accused of stealing his Uncle Zeus’ (the late Lance Reddick) master bolt, Percy embarks on a quest across the country to prove his innocence.

Logan Lerman, best known for the Percy Jackson film series, began acting in commercials when he was young and made his film debut in 2000 with the movie The Patriot. After starring in several movies, he decided he needed a break in the early 2000s and would return to the industry when he was 12. In 2004, he was cast in one of the two titular roles in the TV series Jack & Bobby.

The young heroes Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries), and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) have been through a lot over the course of their cross-country journey, from fighting Medusa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and the Mother of Monsters (Suzanne Cryer) to getting entangled in the gods’ petty squabbles.
Now that the bolt has been found, and the clues pointing to the true culprits are finally falling into place, it’s time for the trio to finish this quest, clear their names, and save Percy’s mom from the clutches of Hades (Jay Duplass).
Here’s a rundown of everything that...

Apart from avoiding what “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” showrunner Jonathan E. Steinberg describes as “a sequence of endings” in the Disney+ show’s Season 1 finale, the most important thing to establish was the solidified friendship between Walker Scobell’s Percy, Aryan Simhadri’s Grover and Leah Sava Jeffries’ Annabeth.
The episode concluded with the trio parting ways after the harrowing quest they shared to the Underworld and back. Annabeth left to give living with her mortal dad and his family another shot, Grover embarked on his quest for Pan and Percy went back to live with his mother and attend yet another new school.
“It felt really important that these three kids, who had been on this adventure [together], had a moment to realize that they had become friends and to understand that wasn’t going away,...

Note: Spoilers ahead for the Season 1 finale of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”
The traitor of Percy Jackson’s first prophecy has finally been revealed and, though it obviously didn’t shock those who read the books, it certainly shocked Annabeth Chase on screen. And Charlie Bushnell, who plays the traitor himself, is definitely excited for what a proper confrontation between the two might look like.
In the season finale of the Disney+ series, now streaming, Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) and his friends return to camp, ready to rat out Clarisse (Dior Goodjohn) as the traitor, after they figure that Ares (Adam Copeland) would only protect one of his own children.
But, as it turns out, the traitor is really Luke (Bushnell). He gave Percy the winged shoes hoping that they’d drag him down to Tartarus and straight to Kronos. Luke didn’t anticipate Percy giving the shoes to Grover (Aryan Simhadri). So,...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the season finale of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” now streaming on Disney+.
The first season of the long-awaited “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series on Disney+ has come to a close, and it ended the same way Rick Riordan’s first book did: Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) part ways before the school year, knowing that they’ll reunite in the not-so-distant future with a bit more world-saving to do. But the journey to get there was often unpredictable, even for fans of the novel.
Most notably, Percy fails his quest. He and his friends miss the summer solstice deadline to find and return Zeus’ (the late Lance Reddick) stolen master lightning bolt, kicking off a war between Zeus and Poseidon (Toby Stephens) — and marking the series’ biggest departure from the book. Still, the kids plunge...

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the season finale of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Percy Jackson has restored some order to Mount Olympus — for now.
The Season 1 finale of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians uncovered the truth about who stole the Master Bolt, as well as their motive. After their run-in with Ares (Adam Copeland) that resulted in the trio stealing back his shield in order to make it to Los Angeles before the solstice, a trip to the Underworld reveals that Ares was never their benevolent savior in the first place. In fact, he definitely had something to do with Percy being framed for stealing the Master Bolt.
Once Percy, Annabeth and Grover manage to escape Hades without Percy’s mom, they confront Ares about conspiring with Clarisse (or so they think) to wreak havoc on Mount Olympus. Walker Scobell, who plays Percy, went head-to-head...

With Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 coming to a close on Tuesday, January 30, Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri are looking back on the adventure that was creating this Disney+ series. In the TV Insider video above, the golden trio shares the story of their first chemistry test as a group, revealing when they knew in their guts that they would be the show’s Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. Scobell was cast first, and then came the search for Percy’s quest mates and best friends. Landing the coveted roles required a lot of work from the young actors, who were just 13 and 15 years old when they were cast. Scobell read with all of the Annabeth and Grover hopefuls, and it was well worth the effort. Their scene was from the Greyhound bus in Episode 3, when the demigods and satyr have just begun their quest. When Percy...

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 finale finally introduces the late Lance Reddick as Zeus, sky god and King of Olympus. Zeus’ presence has lingered all season long as Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) searched for his stolen master bolt and worked to uncover the identity of the lightning thief. With Toby Stephens‘ Poseidon and Jay Duplass‘ Hades introduced in Episode 7, Zeus is the last remaining god of the Big Three left to meet before the season comes to an end. Reddick died on March 17, 2023 of complications from Ischemic Heart Disease and Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease. The 60-year-old’s death was a shock to all, and his absence is sorely felt by the Percy Jackson team. While he only appears in the Episode 8 finale, “The Prophecy Comes True”, his time on set made an impact on those who worked with him. TV Insider...

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 comes to a close next week on January 30. Episode 7, premiering tonight (January 23) at 9/8c on Disney+, will continue to unfold the season-long mystery of the lightning thief’s identity. Book fans well know this answer, but for those who don’t, who stole the master bolt? Let’s dive into the possibilities. Did Clarisse Steal the Master Bolt in Percy Jackson? Grover (Aryan Simhadri) spent Episode 5 slyly extracting intel from the war god, Ares (Adam Copeland of WWE and Aew fame). By the end of this interrogation disguised as an interview with a major fan, Grover was convinced he figured out who stole Zeus’s bolt: Clarisse La Rue (Dior Goodjohn), Ares’ favorite daughter whom viewers met back at Camp Half-Blood. Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 Episode 2 (Disney/David Bukach) Grover realized that Ares knew the...

Going to summer camp makes some lifelong memories. For the Percy Jackson and the Olympians cast, that was certainly true. The actors who play the demigods and satyrs of Camp Half-Blood became a tight-knit group while filming Season 1 of the Disney+ fantasy series. In the TV Insider video above, stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri dish out camp superlatives to their fellow Camp Half-Blood campers (with one adult guest star thrown in). One thing is clear: Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue) was a very popular person on set. The trio not only named her “most likely to be the most popular kid at camp,” but also said she’s the most likely to receive most of these superlatives. Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan) and Andrew Alvarez (Chris Rodriguez) were also named a lot. And they say Adam Copeland — the wrestling superstar who plays the war god Ares...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 Episode 6, “We Take a Zebra to Vegas.”] The sixth episode of Percy Jackson and the Olympians featured another fan-favorite scene from The Lighting Thief book: the Lotus Casino. Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri tell TV Insider that it also happens to be their favorite scene they filmed together. The episode debuted on Disney+ on Tuesday, January 16. In it, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover made it to Las Vegas and found Hermes (Lin-Manuel Miranda). They hoped the messenger god would help them get to Santa Monica in a jiffy. Time was of the essence; Percy needed to reach California in time to meet his father, Poseidon, and they had only days left until Zeus’s summer solstice deadline passed. Once they arrived at the casino (which featured a fun needle-drop in the form of Dua Lipa‘s “Levitating” — not Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” like in ...

Exclusive: Percy Jackson and the Olympians is firing on all cylinders for Disney+.
The premiere episode of the streamer’s original series, based on the books by Rick Riordan, has now amassed 26.2M views in its first three weeks on Disney+ and Hulu, according to the company. That’s double the viewership it managed in its first week.
Disney says that all five available episodes have surpassed 10M views in their first week on the platform, which seems to stay in line with the premiere’s initial viewership, though some decline is very usual and expected as the season progresses.
The company defines a view as hours viewed divided by runtime, similar to Netflix’s calculation.
Nielsen data for Percy Jackson and the Olympians could be available as early as Thursday, if the first two episodes manage to make it into the streaming top 10 in their first week on the service.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians author and series co-creator Rick Riordan pulled no punches when commenting on what will be different in Percy Jackson Episode 6’s Lotus Casino scene as compared to the 2010 movie. “Normalize bad movie erasure,” he wrote on Threads and Instagram on January 16. The episode debuts tonight, Tuesday, January 16, at 9/8c on Disney+. Things are getting tense for our young trio of heroes in Percy Jackson and the Olympians as they continue to make their way across the U.S. Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) have narrowly escaped death not once, not twice, but three times in the short time since they left Camp Half-Blood to find Zeus’ missing master bolt. Wrestling fans will be delighted by Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘ casting of the war god, Ares. Aew‘s Adam Copeland, aka Edge, plays the fiery god in the Disney+ original series, and TV Insider has the exclusive first look at Copeland in his debut episode. Ares makes his grand entrance in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 Episode 5, “A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers,” premiering Tuesday, January 9 at 9/8c on Disney+. In it, the quest deepens as Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) are tasked with a favor from a fearsome opponent. Ares fits that bill quite nicely, but he’s not the only god or monster seen in Tuesday’s episode. Episode 4 left off with Percy plummeting from the top of the St. Louis Arch into the Mississippi River below, landing safely thanks to a little well-timed help from his dad, Poseidon, from up in Olympus.

We’re halfway through season 1 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and the young trio continues to push forward on their quest. Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries), and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) have been tasked with finding Zeus’ missing master bolt and returning it to Mt. "Percy Jackson And The Olympians" may have just debuted on Disney+, but the show's young cast is already thinking ahead to the future. In a recent Deadline story, it wasn't the second season on their minds, but something even bigger: a crossover event with one of the streamers' flagship franchises, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "I hope that there will eventually be an Avengers–Percy Jackson crossover," Grover actor Aryan Simhadri told the outlet, earning nods of approval from co-stars Walker Scobell and Leah Sava Jeffries.
Obviously, Marvel doesn't really do inter-franchise crossovers, but Simhadri's idea isn't that out there as the massive superhero machine isn't immune to passionate calls for cameos. Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire appeared in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" after fans wished and hoped for their returns for years, while Megan Thee Stallion ended up in "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" after mutual friend Jameela Jamil found out...

Playing the Satyr character Grover in Percy Jackson And The Olympians brought up some forgotten memories from Aryan Simhadri’s childhood.

Aryan Simhadri, who plays a Satyr named Grover, has revealed that playing the role unearthed a forgotten memory from his childhood. It’s a memory that shows that he and his character have some unexpected similarities, too.

In the world of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, prophecies are a big deal. The oracle who resides at Camp Half-Blood doesn’t just give them out willy nilly, they are given to those that fate has deemed worthy. For the demigods of Camp Half-Blood, a prophecy typically signals the beginning of a quest, and the chance to prove oneself in the eyes of their deified parent.
Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) receives his first prophecy not long after he first arrives at Camp Half-Blood. The series premiere of Percy Jackson and the Olympians left some fans confused after Disney+ decided to drop the first two episodes of the series the night before they were originally scheduled to premiere. Some eagle-eyed fans found hints that the show would be arriving early on Dec. 19 instead of Dec. 20, but there was no formal confirmation that this would be the release schedule until episodes 1 and 2 appeared on Disney+.
While the early arrival of Percy Jackson episodes was a welcome surprise for many, it also left some fans confused and scrambling to change their plans so they wouldn’t miss out.
