Friday Night Lights cast members Adrianne Palicki (Tyra Collette), Taylor Kitsch (Tim Riggins), Derek Phillips (Billy Riggins) and Stacey Oristano (Mindy Collette/Mindy Riggins) reunited virtually Friday for an Atx Television Festival panel to kick off the event’s remote 2020 edition.
The four reminisced about some of their most memorable moments during the series. Palicki and Oristano noted one of their favorite places to shoot was the Collette house. “That’s the place where Derek ate crawfish and kissed me and I had an allergic reaction..- he got it all over his beard and then he kissed me and my face was like…” Oristano said.
They also imagined what their characters would have been doing during a Covid quarantine. “I think they would all be together,” said Kitsch. “We would murder each other!,” Oristano exclaimed.
“Obviously Tyra and Tim are married with five children, probably divorced like twice,” said Palicki.

Dawson's Creek fans were treated to endless show goodies at this year's Atx Television Festival. Case in point – a reading of the pilot script with a fresh slew of stars more than 10 years after the show went off the air.
During the series Writer's Room reunion panel Sunday in Austin, Texas, show creator Kevin Williamson enlisted the help of stars including Parenthood's Mae Whitman, Suits' Patrick J. Adams and Abigail Spencer to do a funny table read of the first scenes from the premiere episode. The twist? The actors swapped around the gender roles in the Joey-Pacey-Dawson love triangle!

Season four of the Atx Television Festival (A Television eXperience, as they prefer to be called) kicked off Thursday, June 4th in Austin, TX, with a line stretched ‘round the corner for the sole opening night event, the premiere of Atx partner USA’s Complications. The double-length pilot of the series screened to a packed house and afterwards, Mark Peikert of Backstage Magazine moderated a brief Q&A with the series’ creator, Matt Nix, stars Jessica Szohr and Beth Riesgraf, and creative Mike Horowitz. From the very start, the atmosphere in Austin has been a relaxed, positive one. Badge pickup, at least when I was there, was straightforward with helpful volunteers steering the process and the line for Complications, which started forming well over an hour before the event, was friendly and low-stress.
The screening itself was underwhelming. I am confident there are many who will enjoy Complications, but I...

It’s been two years and four-ish months since the ladies of ABC Family’s Bunheads danced their way off of our screens (though never out of our hearts). So, what are the former residents of Paradise up to now?
That was one of the many questions fielded by the show’s creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, who was joined by three of its stars — Sutton Foster, Kelly Bishop and Stacey Oristano — on a panel at the Atx Television Festival on Friday.

The rise in television programming over the years has led to a number of television festivals where show fans and show casts and crews can get together to discuss series. Among these festivals is the Atx Television festival, which is held in Austin Texas every summer. Set to go into its fourth incarnation this year, the festival will be held from June 4th to the 7th, and a new slate of attendees have now been announced, as per Variety.
The festival will formally begin with a look at the upcoming series Complications. The USA Network drama’s screening will be followed by a panel with the show’s stars and creator Matt Nix, who is also onboard as producer.
The festival will also feature a conversation with legendary Simpsons, Taxi, and Mary Tyler Moore writer and co-creator James L. Brooks, who will be sitting down for a conversation with journalist Phil Rosenthal.

Remember when Bunheads got canceled? That was the worst. Now at least there's this brief dance from the show's creator and cast to help you process your feelings. The video, directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino, does not include Sutton Foster, Kelly Bishop, Liza Weil, or Stacey Oristano, and Kaitlyn Jenkins (who played the best bunhead, Boo) doesn't dance because she's injured. And Boo's excellent dweeby boyfriend isn't there, either. And neither is the ghost of Hubbell! If this weren't so lovely otherwise, it would be a massive bummer. Anyway, good-bye again, Bunheads.

We'll make this easy: You simply can't have a category called Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and not include Sutton Foster from ABC Family's "Bunheads." It would just be stupid.
But the Emmy nominations are no strangers to stupid, and Foster is a real long shot for a nomination this year. Not because she doesn't deserve it, but because she's on a network Emmy voters never pay attention to and in a show that's barely even supported by that network.
ABC Family couldn't be bothered to submit "Bunheads" for Emmy consideration in any category (it's glaringly obvious that Foster justifiably submitted her own name on the ballot, which performers are free to do). So, we're not hopeful.
Unless, by some miracle, enough voters actually saw anything that Foster did over the course of "Bunheads'" increasingly rich 18-episode first season. As washed up showgirl-turned-small town dance teacher Michelle,...

Last night, ABC Family's "Bunheads" aired its "winter finale" -- the last episode in the show's current order of 18 episodes -- and without any official word from the network about the show's future, it may have also been the series finale. That would be a shame.
The dramedy from "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is a gem, but judging by the ratings it remains something of a well-kept secret. Prior to last night's episode, the show has been averaging 1.27 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo. Those are not embarrassing numbers by cable TV standards, but they're well under ABC Family's biggest hit, "Pretty Little Liars," and also a dropoff from "Bunheads" lead-in "Switched at Birth."
"Bunheads" fares better in the young female demos prized by the network, but judging strictly by overall viewership no one would be surprised if ABC Family threw in the towel.

Liza Weil is set to guest star on ABC Family's "Bunheads" when it returns from hiatus -- bringing the total number of "Gilmore Girls" actors to appear on the series to nine. We're loving Amy Sherman-Palladino's tendency to keep things all in the family, though it can't help those persistent comparisons that we keep seeing Stars Hollow townsfolk pop up!
Weil, who of course played the acerbic and iconic Paris Gellar for all seven seasons of "Gilmore," will play Milly, the sister of Truly (Stacey Oristano). As TVLine reports, the women are embroiled in a bit of a sibling rivalry.
(And yes, TV lovers, this means that in a fictional universe, Paris Gellar and Mindy Collette Riggins are related. We'll just take a moment to let that sink in.)

So far, we've only seen a quick glimpse at ABC Family's "Bunheads," the new drama from "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino about a Las Vegas dancer who moves to a small town with her new husband and starts teaching at her mother-in-law's dance school.
Now, Zap2it can exclusively premiere the latest promo for the series, which debuts June 11 after "The Secret Life of the American Teenager."

The very first promo for ABC Family's new series "Bunheads" doesn't actually reveal much (or anything) about the show, other than the fact that Broadway vet Sutton Foster is in it, but we're still excited anyway.
