Two trials play out in the new Apple TV+ adaptation of lawyer-novelist Scott Turow’s 1988 bestselling legal thriller, Presumed Innocent: the criminal case against a Chicago prosecutor charged with murdering a colleague, and the nightmare at home that the murder trial visits on the family of the accused.
Those parallel ordeals stood out for actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who stars in the eight-episode limited series that premieres on Wednesday and runs through July 24. At Sunday’s premiere of Presumed Innocent at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, Gyllenhaal spoke in a panel discussion with showrunner and writer David E. Kelley and two directors, Anne Sewitsky and Gregg Yaitanes, about “the trial of the family and the actual trial” and “the juxtaposition between the two.”

On paper, Presumed Innocent might sound like your standard courtroom thriller… but there’s no one you’d rather have writing one of those than David E. Kelley. The man has been cranking out quality TV legal dramas since the days of L.A. Law, and the mind behind Ally McBeal and The Practice delivers once again as writer and showrunner of this new Apple TV+ series, premiering this Wednesday. (I’ve seen seven of the eight episodes.) Kelley takes a familiar premise — one that’s quite similar to Paramount+’s far inferior Fatal Attraction remake, in fact — and spins it into a sturdy,...

With a career that’s ranged 33 years — over three quarters of his life — Jake Gyllenhaal has covered nearly every type of character, genre, and form, but in a recent interview in The Hollywood Reporter, he said he’s now focused on taking on roles that “freak me out a bit.” Whether that means getting cut and learning to give and take a beating for Doug Liman’s “Road House” remake or wading through the moral and ethical murk of murder and infidelity in the upcoming Apple TV+ mini-series “Presumed Innocent,” Gyllenhaal is game for a challenge.
“The feeling I want to have is, can I do it?” said Gyllenhaal. “That it’s going to ask of me things that I don’t know about myself yet.”

Though Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* is still shooting, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has finished filming her scenes as the scheming Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
The Seinfeld star revealed that she had now wrapped on the movie, although she declined to share any more details when asked if she performed any stunts while working on the project.
"I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Marvel Universe, but when you join it, you sign your life away in an NDA. So, if I say anything to you right now, I will be executed by the universe."
Does this indicate that Val will have a smaller role in the movie than we'd been led to believe? Not necessarily, but she was never likely to have as much screen time as the characters who make up the team, and we're hearing that the movie is scheduled to wrap within the next couple of weeks,...

In 1997, Platinum Studios co-founder and chairman Scott Mitchell Rosenberg came up with a unique genre-mash concept. What if classic Western tropes were infused with a gritty alien invasion storyline?
This idea birthed the graphic novel "Cowboys & Aliens," where gunslingers Zeke Jackson and Verity Jones witness the crash-landing of an alien spaceship during a caravan ambush. The aliens that disembark the ship are not the friendly, benevolent type -- this is a race bent on invading and conquering Earth by destroying everything they set their sights on. Now, it is up to the cowboys to work together with the local natives to defeat the aliens at all costs, even if it means adapting to their superior, futuristic weapons to nudge the odds in their favor.
Although the one-sheet for Rosenberg's graphic novel was always geared toward a big-budget film adaptation, it wasn't until 2011 that the Jon Favreau-helmed "Cowboys & Aliens" was released,...

In the hellscape of the movie business, very little can evade the overseeing eye of the studio system. In Paramount, Taylor Sheridan never had to face an issue of a similar sort regarding the expansion of the Yellowstone universe. But when the same studio forced its decision upon an artist of his caliber, he made sure to make the execs bleed as much as necessary to make their demands come true.

Masashi Kishimoto is a master of many things such as storytelling, art, and creating a world captivating enough to entrance the entire world. However, one talent is enough to equal them all at one go; his ability to make some of the most mesmerizing characters. Each and every character introduced by the mangaka is unique, special, and well built in most cases.

George Lucas’ Star Wars was a truly remarkable film franchise in the sci-fi fantasy genre. But the film series may not have been perfect in all sense. For years, the franchise had been accused of portraying poorly-written female characters. In particular, the original trilogy’s Leia was criticized for being a ‘damsel in distress’ character.

Lucas vehemently defended the series, claiming that the films were groundbreaking for including strong women. He shared that women like Princess Leia and Queen Amidala were the true leaders of the rebellion. He added that he couldn’t just put women in pants in his films to make them the heroes. However, Lucas’ views might be skewed in more than one way.

But the Dutton universe is far from its conclusion as Sheridan has expanded it with multiple spin-off shows. While two prequel shows 1883 and 1923 have already been successful, the Dutton Ranch is reportedly introducing Kurt Russell in a planned sequel spin-off.

Captain America: Brave New World reshoots are currently taking place in Atlanta and it appears another major Marvel character has been added to the movie.
Based on a recent Instagram post from paparazzi Atlanta Filming (who has taken hundreds of the shots we've featured here over the years), it appears Benedict Wong will return as the McU's Sorcerer Supreme, Wong.
This might feel like a strange move, but it makes sense on several levels. For starters, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings revealed that Wong, Bruce Banner, and Captain Marvel seem to regularly meet to discuss threats to Earth-616, so why wouldn't he touch base with the new Captain America?
Then, there's the fact Abomination is now training in Kamar-Taj; he was created by The Leader and could have valuable intel about the villain...heck, he may even show up to help Sam Wilson deal with Red Hulk.

While the Star Wars saga is extremely successful and has expanded through numerous sequels, prequels, series, and spin-offs, certain elements amidst the vastness feel unnecessary and nonsensical. James Caan is most popularly known for his scene-stealing role as Sonny Corleone in the first two Godfather films, a role that has earned him an Oscar nomination. He also earned an Emmy nomination for his incredible portrayal of famed American football player Brian Piccolo in the film Brian’s Song. The actor has played leading men in various acclaimed films in the 70s.

His other hit films include Rollerball, A Bridge Too Far, Thief, and Cinderella Liberty. The latter was a romantic drama where he starred alongside Marsha Mason. There continues to be a great deal of excitement surrounding Giancarlo Esposito's role in Captain America: Brave New World. While The Mandalorian star has been spotted on set in Atlanta for reshoots, we're still no closer to knowing who he'll play.
Moon Knight villain Bushman remains a likely possibility, though some social media scoopers have said that's not true. However, they also aren't saying who he is playing!
A new set video has found its way online today and despite not offering any additional clues, we see Esposito wielding a gun and seemingly on the hunt. The trades have confirmed he's a villain, so we're guessing Sam Wilson is on his hit list.
Recently, there's been chatter online that fans will likely be disappointed with who the actor has been cast as. In fact, it's being compared to when Robert Redford took on the role of the little-known Alexander Pierce...

With its enormous impact, George Lucas’ science fiction epic Star Wars revolutionized the way blockbusters were seen and promoted, forever changing the landscape of cinema in 1977. The Star Wars world permeated every corner of Western culture, and its three main stars—Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill—became symbols of the late 20th-century zeitgeist.
Fisher and Ford’s brief romance is a little-known fact, even among those who have not seen the movies. Naturally, the reports of their romantic relationship during filming caught the attention of the mainstream media, which shockingly provided scant evidence to support their reports. But as the memoir, The Princess Diarist, made clear, there was, in fact, a “three-month” affair between the married Ford and the teenage Fisher.

Studio logos at the start of the film can often indicate what fans can expect from the movie. From DreamWorks’ moonchild to various variations of the WB logo, there are several examples of filmmakers manipulating the logos to fit the tone of their films. One such variation of a logo was in Steven Spielberg’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, often considered one of the greatest films of all time.
Much like the film itself, the opening logo of Paramount dissolving into a mountain is iconic. But it seems that incorporating this simple transition was far from simple for the crew.

George Lucas’ Star Wars became a worldwide phenomenon upon release. The sci-fi epic was set in a galaxy far, far away and followed Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo in their journey to vanquish the Empire led by Darth Vader. The original film released in 1977 was known for its groundbreaking special effects and experience.
Though the films were meant largely for children, the second film of the original trilogy Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was notably darker than the rest. The leading characters face significant losses, which is not traditional for an epic film of this scale. However, the makers reportedly felt one scene was too intense for their younger viewers and left it on the floor.

Yellowstone, effortlessly, is one of the best projects credited to Taylor Sheridan’s name to date, ranking among the likes of Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River, and this very series’ multiple prequels including 1923 and 1883.
But while the mastermind developed this storyline himself, not many fans know what actually induced him to spend so many big bucks on the horses for this saga.
Yellowstone. | Credit: Paramount Network. As it turns out, there is a very major reason behind this decision from the filmmaker that many are unaware of: A story based on true, real-life harrowing events that Sheridan himself had to go through.
Moreover, this dark tale not only influenced his decision to buy so many horses for his saga but can also be felt in the characters’ behaviors throughout the masterpiece series.

Kevin Costner is so heavily associated with the Western genre that he not only departed the most epic Western saga of recent years, but did so in order to make his own epic Western saga. The Dances With Wolves and Open Range legend had, in recent years, been the face of TV smash Yellowstone – the Taylor Sheridan series that became a ratings juggernaut, and spawned an entire universe of spin-off shows set in different eras of American history. But before the show's end, Costner departed the role of John Dutton III, partly in order to direct and star in his multi-part movie Western series Horizon: An American Saga. With the largely self-funded Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 hitting cinemas soon, Yellowstone fans will get their Costner Western fix – but as it stands, the star won’t appear in the upcoming final run of the TV smash.

Kevin Costner is one of the most successful and well-known actors in Hollywood. Although he is better known for his acting roles, he has started to actively establish himself for his work behind the camera. His directorial debut was through the 1990 film, Dances with Wolves. Since then, he has only assumed this role on two other projects. That was until now.
Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 I Warner Bros. PicturesWith Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 having just been released, and two more on the way, it is safe to say that he has a lot planned for this series. His passion project has gotten a lot of positive reviews from all sides, which is not surprising considering just how talented he is.
However, there was one person who gave him quite an interesting piece of advice on how and where he should release the story. Something Costner refused to listen to.

One of the most surprising things about Captain America: Brave New World is the fact Sam Wilson will have to match wits with The Leader.
We first met Samuel Sterns in 2008's The Incredible Hulk and learned Bruce Banner's apparent ally had some questionable beliefs when it came to science. That included creating the Abomination and, when Emil Blonsky went on a rampage in Harlem, Sterns got his own dose of Gamma poisoning after a sample of Banner's blood contaminated a wound on his head.
His head started growing and that was the last we saw of Sterns until a tie-in comic (which may or may not be considered "canon") revealed that Black Widow took him into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.

The Star Wars universe is one of the biggest ever with a rich tapestry of characters, planets, and stories. Just like the MCU or DC universe, Star Wars too has expanded to include several new stories, comic books, novels, and more. While fans of the franchise have pretty much considered everything canon of their own accord, George Lucas has had other ideas.

Next, she's shipped back to Coruscant aboard a Republic prison ship operated by droids. And that's just the start of her bad time. Fans have been speculating about the identity of The Boys and The Mandalorian actor's mysterious character ever since we found out that he'd joined the MCU, and despite getting a pretty decent look at Esposito in-costume, we're still non the wiser.
All we know for sure is that he is playing a villain, and based on his array of weapons, we'd say he is more than likely a non-super-powered mercenary of some kind. This does narrow things down, but not by much!

Hollywood, for the past seven years since 2018, has been seduced by Taylor Sheridan’s unbridled and unyielding talent for crafting worlds of greed, power, the Wild West, and neo-noir crime capers. Among the numerous players also lies Jeremy Renner, the Marvel superhero who recently proved his lack of powers on-screen is a poor testament to his real-life powers in the wake of his accident.

Ever since The Mandalorian and The Boys star Giancarlo Esposito confirmed that he'd been cast in a mystery MCU role, speculation has run wild about who he might be playing.
The actor confirmed he'd debut in a movie before showing up in a Disney+ TV series and set photos have since revealed his big screen project as Captain America: Brave New World. Esposito was enlisted for reshoots and a first look at his unnamed character showed him in tactical gear wielding several knives and what appears to be an axe.
Typically, a set photo like that would make it clear who an actor is playing; as things stand, we're no closer to knowing for sure who the Breaking Bad alum has been cast as. Or are we?
A new rumour is floating around online (we think it's more of a theory than anything) which suggests Esposito is playing Moon Knight villain Bushman.

Harrison Ford played the role of Han Solo in George Lucas’ Star Wars. The actor had played a supporting role in Lucas’ debut American Graffiti and was selected to play the wise-cracking intergalactic bounty hunter. Ford reprised his role in the second and third episodes of the original trilogy and the first film in the sequel trilogy.
Ford has expressed his disdain for the role multiple times over the years despite receiving worldwide recognition for the global phenomenon. The actor also reportedly tried to cut short his tenure early by having Solo killed off in The Empire Strikes Back. However, even he admitted that watching the film for the first time was a whole new experience.

Even back when Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released, the reality was that Harrison Ford had aged out of the role. Peak Indiana Jones needed to be young. The only way to retain the adventuring archeologist’s look, feel, and spirit was through one medium only: animation!
Sadly, Disney has shown no interest in Dr. Jones outside of the films except for an upcoming game from Bethesda. While it’s great to get to play as Indy again finally, the game’s reveal also came with the dreaded concession that it was made for the mythical “modern” audience.
While the suits at the House of Mouse may not understand the appeal of classic Indiana Jones, those working outside the system do. What’s more frustrating is that a team of talented artists and animators gave us a template for an animated series starring our whip-cracking hero seven years ago!

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
