The fans are surprised as the 64-year-old Jeremy Clarkson has received the title of UK’s Sexiest Man Alive for the second consecutive year. The notable television presenter and journalist has defeated some significant Hollywood stars like Tom Holland, Cillian Murphy, and Idris Elba.

Although the list comprises names from the worlds of entertainment, sports, and politics, it was startling to see Henry Cavill not even making it to the Top 10. The closest to Jeremy Clarkson is the Spider-Man fame Tom Holland at second.
Surprisingly, Clarkson has retained his position as the UK’s Sexiest Man even after being in the headlines for his numerous controversial comments.

Exclusive: Andy Wilman looks like a man who’s not seen sunlight for a while. Peering down the barrel of a Zoom call, he’s got a touch of man flu after a spell in his editing bunker. Wilman is perpetually “in an edit.” He’s currently honing the final episode of The Grand Tour, but he could just as well be looking at rushes from Clarkson’s Farm Season 4. It is his happy place.

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed the secret to his curmudgeonly, grumbling character that helped propel his shows Top Gear and The Grand Tour to worldwide success – it was all an act.
Clarkson, whose hit series Clarkson’s Farm returns to Amazon Prime’s global platform on May 3, told The Guardian newspaper he had deliberately made “a comic creation.”
He said: “Everyone assumes the character they see on motoring shows is me, but it’s exaggerated. To think that I was like I was on Top Gear is the same as thinking that Anthony Hopkins is a cannibal.”
And he said that, as a working farmer whose challenges and triumphs are all captured on camera for his hit show, he feels no pressure to be controversial any more:
“I don’t have to think, ‘Right, I’m going to say something stupidly provocative now.’ That’s relaxing. Also, you don’t wake up...

Freevee isn’t going away, Amazon says.
With Amazon’s Prime Video launch of ads by default last month, rumors and speculation have heated up that the tech giant would no longer have a strategic need for Freevee — its free, ad-supported streaming service that is separate from Prime Video. A Feb. 21 report by Adweek, citing anonymous sources, said that Amazon will “sunset” Freevee, likely in the second quarter and possibly before the NewFronts in late April.
Asked for comment, Amazon said the Adweek report is inaccurate.
“There are no changes to Freevee,” the rep said in an email to Variety. “Amazon Freevee remains an important streaming offering providing both Prime and non-Prime customers thousands of hit movies, shows, and originals, all for free.”
Freevee is the name of the ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service that was originally launched in January 2019 under the name IMDb Freedive and then rebranded as...

French farmers, who are currently blockading Paris with their tractors to protest the economic crisis facing the country’s agricultural sector, have found an unlikely hero in Jeremy Clarkson.
The controversial TV presenter has won praise from the protestors for his Amazon Prime Video Series Clarkson’s Farm, following his attempts to run his Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds, and public backing of British farming.
“We need one of our French celebrities to do the same thing as Jeremy Clarkson in Amazon Prime Series Clarkson’s Farm,” protesting French farmer Robi Leduc told a reporter from the UK’s The Telegraph newspaper.
French farmers say their sector is on the brink of collapse as incomes fall due to rising environmental regulations, red tape and competition from cheaper imports, all issues Clarkson has talked about in his show in relation to British farming.

When the news came out in December that “The Grand Tour” — Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond’s post-“Top Gear” automotive series — would be coming to an end, fans were left wondering why.
But, in a new interview with The Times, Clarkson has delivered a cheeky yet straightforward answer: it’s because he’s “unfit and fat and old.”
Clarkson told The Times that the show “is immensely physical, and when you’re unfit and fat and old, which I am…” He also feels the trio has done just about “everything you can do with a car.”
“I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else,” Clarkson said. “We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed why it’s the end of the road for The Grand Tour. Clarkson said he and co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, decided to quit the Amazon Prime Video show after running out of steam.
In an interview with The Times of London, Clarkson said it was becoming increasingly difficult to conjure up outlandish adventures for the show and that the presenters were all showing their age.
Clarkson, who is 63, said: “I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”

James May has left the car door open for a reunion with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond after they park their Prime Video series The Grand Tour for a final time.
During BBC Radio 4’s Today program, which he was guest editing this morning, he responded to a question about the future of the series by saying: “Well, we’ve filmed the last one for now. I suppose that makes me technically unemployed — I can hear the cheers rolling around the country.
“We’ve got two in the bag, though, so there’s one coming out very soon. I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say here. Then [there is] another one coming out a bit after that.”
In November, Clarkson told The Times newspaper that the trio were “done” after 34 years of car review programs. However, Prime Video is yet to officially cancel The Grand Tour, which is among its highest-rating original series.

Amazon Prime Video’s automotive series “The Grand Tour” is not moving forward at the streamer — at least with its current hosts, former “Top Gear” trio Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.
Sources tell Variety that Clarkson, May and Hammond have just returned from filming the show’s final special in Zimbabwe, which will launch at a later date next year and conclude the fifth season. A special set in Mauritania will launch before that, in February. Though options to continue the series with different hosts are being explored, it has not yet been greenlit. The “Grand Tour” news follows the announcement earlier this week that Clarkson’s other show on Amazon Prime Video, “Clarkson’s Farm,” is getting a fourth season.
Clarkson said in a statement to The Times on Thursday, “We’re done. I have reviewed cars on TV since 1989. That’s 34 years. And after next year, I...

Former Top Gear host James May has criticized the “car show-erati” who have called for him and his fellow former co-presenters to be reinstated on the hit motoring show since Andrew Flintoff’s crash.
Speaking to the BBC, May said he has been annoyed by “the people who watch car shows and were saying, ‘Well now they’ve done that wrong you can come back in and rescue [Top Gear].“
May referred to these “partisan” Top Gear fans as the “car show-erati.”

Top Gear presenter Freddie Flintoff voiced his concerns about safety during filming on the same day as he was injured in a 130mph crash, The Sun newspaper reports.
Former England cricketer Flintoff was badly injured in December 2022 when his open-topped Morgan Super 3 car crashed while filming a segment for the longrunning BBC car show.
The Sun quotes an insider reporting:
“Freddie voiced his worries about the safety of the stunt on set on the day of the accident.
“He questioned whether or not it was Ok, given the vehicle and conditions on the track.
“He was apprehensive before he got behind the wheel and production staff at the track were aware of this.”
Filming was suspended on the 34th series of the show following the accident, and Flintoff has only recently been seen in public, with his facial injuries still visible. He also broke several ribs.

The Mail on Sunday newspaper reports that Top Gear, in all likelihood, will not return to screens following a near-fatal crash involving one of its star presenters, Freddie Flintoff. Following the show being put “on hold” in March, the paper claims that the hit show’s production team has been dismantled.
This follows the departure of two key senior creatives from the team – editorial director Clare Pizey and development producer Chris Payne.
The newspaper reports that BBC sources have confirmed there are no plans to develop a fresh series, and plans to broadcast the most recent series 34 have been shelved.
Former England cricketing hero Flintoff received serious injuries to his face and ribs in a car accident back in December 2022. Former England cricket captain Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff has been pictured for the first time since he was injured in a car accident during filming of the BBC series Top Gear.
The all-rounder and star of the England Ashes series in 2005 and 2009 was seen on Friday taking part in practice drills with the England cricket team at Cardiff, Wales. It is understood he was not there in an official capacity but invited to spend time with the team during its one-day international match against New Zealand.
Flintoff, who has been a presenter with the Top Gear team since 2019, was injured in December last year during the filming of a segment for the series at the Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey, southern England. His injuries remain visible on his face, and he is also understood to have broken ribs in the accident.

British tabloid The Sun has been ordered to publicly acknowledge that an opinion piece about Meghan Markle written by “The Grand Tour” star Jeremy Clarkson was determined to be sexist.
In the December 2022 column, Clarkson declared he hated the Duchess of Sussex “on a cellular level,” and wrote that he was “dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”
After an investigation, the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso) determined that Clarkson’s opinion piece had breached anti-discrimination regulations.
Ipso chairman Lord Faulks said in the decision that the article was “humiliating and degrading towards the duchess,” and ordered The Sun to publish a front-page statement explaining in detail how Clarkson had breached those rules, which must also be featured on its website.

Exclusive: International buyers will remain cautious over how the writers’ strike impacts program availability, as the ongoing industrial action dominated chatter at the LA Screenings.
A week of international sales showcases brought hundreds of buyers to LA as the likes of Paramount, Disney, Sony, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros Discovery and Fox screened film and TV line-ups against a backdrop of picket lines at the studio gates.
Before the event, a number of international buyers told us a key issue in negotiations would be what clarity they could get on new shows entering production as the writers’ strike rumbles on — we’re now at nearly a month since it began. The studios acknowledge it’s a “fluid” situation and the topic was top of mind for many on the ground last week.

This year’s Tonys will be held on June 11, so the American Theatre Wing will likely be announcing its lifetime achievement award recipient in the near future. The next series of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? will be Jeremy Clarkson’s last, it has been confirmed, following backlash to the columnist’s words on Meghan Markle.
Last year, Clarkson’s future on the show was called into question after reaction to a column he wrote in The Sun where the former Top Gear host said he hated the Duchess of Sussex on a “cellular level”.
Clarkson apologised and later said that he had reached out to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the article. However, Harry and Meghan issued their own statement claiming that Clarkson had only apologised to Harry.
At the time, ITV said that Clarkson would remain as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, a role he took on in 2018, “for the moment”.
Production is currently underway on the series, but it has now been announced that the forthcoming series will be his last.

The next season of Jeremy Clarkson’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” on ITV will be its last on the British broadcaster, with “no future commitments” in the works.
ITV boss Carolyn McCall tells Variety that the forthcoming season of the game show, which is currently in production, will be Clarkson’s final foray as host. The “Grand Tour” presenter has been at the center of a media firestorm over his December column in British tabloid The Sun. In the piece, which is currently being investigated by British media regulator Ipso, Clarkson said the Duchess of Sussex should be forced to parade the streets naked with “lumps of excrement thrown at her.”

Update: U.K. gender equality charity The Fawcett Society, one of the two complainants who have prompted an investigation by media watchdog Ipso into Jeremy Clarkson’s Meghan Markle column in The Sun, have said that the “Grand Tour” presenter’s “misogynistic and racist” views have helped to normalize violence, hate and harassment against women.
In response to a question by Variety about the charity’s motivations for the complaint, Fawcett Society CEO Jemima Olchawski said in a statement: “Following our complaint, we welcome the Ipso investigation. Of course, the comments were deeply offensive but it goes beyond that. Clarkson’s misogynistic and racist views appeared in one of our biggest national newspapers, they will have been seen and sanctioned by experienced journalists before they were published in the Sun. It is this endorsement of these toxic views that is also extremely troubling.
“Sexism, racism, and misogyny have no place in our society.

Jeremy Clarkson’s controversial column about the Duchess of Sussex will be investigated by press regulator Ipso.
In December, Clarkson published a column in which he wrote that he hated Meghan on a “cellular level”.
Following a huge backlash, Clarkson apologised and later said that he had reached out to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the article. However, Harry and Meghan issued their own statement claiming that Clarkson had only apologised to Harry.
On Thursday, the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso) announced that it had launched an investigation into Clarkson’s article after receiving more than 25,100 complaints. It is Ipso’s most complained-about article ever.
The press watchdog said that they were taking forward two complaints by The Fawcett Society and The Wilde Foundation.
The complaints claimed that Clarkson’s article breached Clause 1 (Accuracy), Clause 3 (Harassment) and Clause 12 (Discrimination) of the Ipso code.

Jeremy Clarkson has claimed that James May has been influenced by “lefties” as he criticised his The Grand Tour co-host’s support of 20mph speed limits.
Last week, May voiced his support for proposed plans to make 20mph the default speed on new or redesigned urban streets, as well as in residential areas.
Appearing on the Today programme on Radio 4, May said that he “hates to say I’m very right-on”, adding that he “would agree that a blanket 20mph would probably be a little bit knuckle-headed, but in a lot of urban places, city centre, towns and villages, actually 20mph makes perfect sense”.
Writing in his column in The Sun, Clarkson hit out at the comments from “m’colleague” May, suggesting that the former Top Gear host was now backing “leftie” plans.
“Of course, you’re thinking that James May would say that,” Clarkson wrote. “He’s known as...

Jeremy Clarkson has admitted that major traffic caused by visitors to his shop at the Diddly Squat Farm prevented some people from getting to the local health centre for their Covid vaccinations.
The controversial former Top Gear presenter discussed the issue in Amazon Prime’s Clarkson’s Farm, a series that follows his attempts to run the farm in the Cotswolds.
In a preview of the first episode of the new series, seen by The Independent, Clarkson says the farm shop “turned out to be rather more popular than we’d expected”.
Speaking over footage of large queues, a rammed car park and road traffic, he continues: “Last week, the main road jammed up for three hours. People couldn’t get to be vaccinated at the health centre, and they couldn’t get a crew for the fire station.”
He adds: “I just didn’t think it through. I didn’t...

Exclusive: James May will be back for a third helping of his Amazon Our Man In… travel show.
The Grand Tour presenter will head to India for another round of irreverent adventures after journeying to Japan and Italy in Season 1 and 2 respectively.
The Amazon Prime Video original is produced by Plum Pictures, the British production outfit. Plum made James May: Oh Cook! for Amazon and is preparing a Serena Williams access series for the streamer.
News of the renewal comes days after May distanced himself from comments his friend and co-host Jeremy Clarkson made about Meghan Markle in a column for The Sun, the British tabloid newspaper.
Clarkson said he “hates” the Duchess of Sussex and she should be made to “parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain,” a callback to a Game of Thrones scene. He has since apologized.

James May has suggested that Jeremy Clarkson’s infamous column about Meghan Markle was “a little too creepy”.
Back in December, Clarkson faced widespread condemnation after The Sun published an article in which he fantasised about the duchess of Sussex being paraded through the streets naked and pelted with excrement.
In the column, published on 16 December, the 62-year-old ex-Top Gear host wrote that he hated the duchess on a “cellular level”.
Reports subsequently claimed that Amazon was looking to “cut ties” with Clarkson, and would not be commissioning any further projects from him beyond those which had already been agreed upon.
On Monday (30 January), May was interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
“I don’t think The Grand Tour is under [threat],” May said.
“To be brutally honest I didn’t read the thing [Clarkson’s column] because I was away – is that a terrible thing to say?” he continued.
