While many know Jason Momoa as Aquaman from Dceu, his journey to Hollywood stardom kickstarted with his breakout role on HBO’s Game of Thrones, in which he played the Dothraki warlord Khal Drogo. While his role came to an end with the first season, his character garnered instant attention among viewers and fans alike.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an impossibly glib, rip-roaring, and exciting action picture. It’s the type of old-fashioned entertainment full of movie stars who get the job done, cracking-wise, and goddamn, they look good doing it. You can’t help but get swept up in the action and think a franchise is born.
It helps to have a cast with this much swashbuckling beefcake, including a Superman, a Reacher, and a G.I. Joe. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a film my wife calls the “Five Hot Guys” movie, with lots of eye candy and bloodshed for everyone involved. In a way, it is the perfect date movie.

Olivia Williams, the BAFTA-winning actress and recent SAG Awards nominee as an ensemble member for her performance as Camilla Parker Bowles on “The Crown,” has worked on the British stage in classic and new productions. But in a new interview, she points to a beloved American sitcom as an “alarming” and “harrowing” experience when compared to other gigs.
Williams appeared as a bridesmaid in the fourth season finale, in which Ross (David Schwimmer) married Emily (Helen Baxendale) in London. (You may recall some zany hijinks at some historic landmarks.) Speaking with The Independent, the actress recalled the “alarming” experience of sharing a car with an elderly actress Williams described as “distinguished” and “very good” who was later berated by a producer and told, “You’re not funny!” According to Williams, the unnamed performer was not on set the following day.
“‘Friends’ was a brand,” she continued, “and you had to fit the brand.

Remakes have become rampant in the film industry but the worst part is most of them lack any sense of originality. Filmmakers are constantly coming up with movies that rely solely on the nostalgia factor in order to bring the audience to the theatres. More often than not, the remakes aren’t met with positive feedback which just goes on to say that it is about time Hollywood should move on to bigger and better things.

However, before it does so, the film industry might need to take a step back and look into two of the best remakes Hollywood has had to offer in the past years – War of the Worlds and West Side Story. Directed by none other than legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg, both films are perfect examples of how a remake should be done.

The Crown, The Sixth Sense and The Father actress Olivia Williams has opened up about the “harrowing” time she spent on the set of Friends back in 1998. Williams appeared as a bridesmaid in the two-part season 4 finale of the iconic series, “The One with Ross’ Wedding.”
Recently queried about previous remarks she’d made regarding her stint on the show, Williams told The Independent, “Well, just as an example, I was taken to the studio in a shared car with a wonderful actress whose character, I think, was called ‘Old Woman.’” The actor, whose name Williams did not recall, was “distinguished” and “very good,” but at one point, “a producer – who shall remain nameless – just yelled at her: ‘You’re not funny!’ And she didn’t come back the next day. So that was alarming.”
Williams also told the newspaper, “Friends was a brand, and you had to fit the brand.

He also announced popcorn buckets, that will supposedly top even the ‘Dune’ ones, also keeping up with the general Deadpool spirit.
It seems that insults and vulgarity are a viable marketing campaign for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ after all we wouldn’t expect anything less from Merc With the Mouth. It sounds like Marvel and Disney are taking a creative approach to remind moviegoers to silence their cell phones during screenings. Timothée Chalamet’s journey in Hollywood has been an inspiring one. From making his name as a young star in independent films to bagging huge mainstream projects like Dune and Wonka, the actor has proved that he has the personality and talent to juggle both worlds with aplomb.
Timothée Chalamet in Dune
With the recently released Dune 2, Chalamet has further showcased his growth as an actor through the evolution of his character, Paul Atreides. But the Oscar nominee’s casting was criticized when he was initially signed on for the role by Denis Villeneuve. The director, though, was steadfast in his reasoning behind the decision and elaborated on why he was insistent on only Chalamet playing the role.
The Dune Ensemble Was Created Around Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides
It is difficult to imagine anyone other than Timothée Chalamet portraying the central character Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune franchise.

It may be a mystery to famed director David Lynch that Patrick Stewart was an acclaimed actor when the latter showed up on the set of his 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune.
Well, sometimes directors have a clear vision of the ideal actor for a role, while other times, a happy accident can result in unexpected greatness. Such was the case with Lynch’s original 1984 Dune adaptation, in which he erroneously cast Patrick Stewart in a role that was meant for someone else.
Yes, Stewart, 83, inadvertently obtained the role of Gurney Halleck. In the process of replacing Aldo Ray at the eleventh hour, the director erroneously cast another Patrick Stewart.
David Lynch’s Dune 1984
Aside from being a financial disaster and receiving negative reviews, the film has developed a cult following over the years, and this intriguing casting mishap is just one of the many oddball tales surrounding its creation.

Looking back at it from 2024, the decision to cast Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides in "Dune" seems pretty unambiguously wise. Not only is this guy's resume absolutely padded by this point, with his standout performances in critical darlings like "Little Women," "The French Dispatch," and "Bones and All," but he's also proven himself to be a reliable box office draw with recent musical prequel "Wonka." But back in 2018, when the first rumors of Chalamet playing Paul started flying around, the decision was a lot more questionable. Chalamet's biggest lead role at that point was "Call Me By Your Name," a soulful romantic drama that won him plenty of acclaim, but didn't exactly showcase his abilities at playing the terrifying hyper-intelligent tyrant that Paul would have to become.

Directors and actors can often develop unique and intense relationships due to the nature of their work together, and that seems to be true in the case of "Dune: Part One" and "Dune: Part Two" director Denis Villeneuve and star Timothée Chalamet. The two had a private little bubble of sorts on the sets of the films by exclusively speaking French to one another that hints at the closeness between them. In interviews together and on-set photos, they seem to have a lot of comfort with one another and a very familial dynamic, which translates well to what's needed of the relationship between a director and actor.
In an interview with the New York Times, Villeneuve and Chalamet discussed their friendship, which some have compared to the relationship between a father and son, and Villeneuve shared what made him feel like a proud papa. Chalamet also revealed the "great irony" in being directed by Villeneuve,...

Avatar: The Last Airbender is on its way to get a film, and it seems that a WWE alum will finally be joining the universe in a significant manner. It has been reported that Guardians of the Galaxy and Dune alum Dave Bautista will be a part of the film, essaying the role of the chief antagonist of the movie.
Dave Bautista as Drax in a still from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The film is set to follow the original Team Avatar from The Last Airbender, and will possibly be set before the events of The Legend of Korra. However, given the glimpses of the past that we have seen in the successor series, it is possible that these plot points are expanded on in the film, which indicates that we might come face to face with some of Aang’s foes that we have seen in the show.

You’ll be able to own Dune: Part Two on a shiny disc in just a few weeks’ time, as its DVD, 4K Uhd and Blu-ray release is set for the 27th May.
If you’ve been wondering when you’ll be able to own a physical copy of Dune: Part Two on disc, then wonder no longer. Warner Bros has announced that Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi extravaganza is out on DVD and Blu-ray from the 27th May. But you probably knew that from the headline.
The film’s digital release was on the 15th April, which is nice if you like downloading things – it saves shelf space and all that – but for those of us who like discs and boxes and that pleasant sound when a DVD or Blu-ray player drawer closes, it’ll be well worth waiting for a few more weeks.

Jon M. Chu revealed it was “heartbreaking” and “very hurtful” for him when he learned his 2021 musical “In the Heights” was being released in theaters and on streaming via HBO Max on the same day.
Speaking to a crowd of exhibitors at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas on Thursday, Chu lamented the “Project Popcorn” campaign put in place by former Warner Media CEO Jason Kilar back in 2021, in which Warner Bros. took its entire theatrical slate for the year, including films like “In the Heights,” “Dune,” and “The Matrix Resurrections,” and put them in theaters and on streaming day-and-date, all as a means to drive subscribers to HBO Max.
When he was asked how “In the Heights” prepared him for thinking about his next film “Wicked,” another movie musical adaptation, this time for Universal, he said it made him realize the importance of theatrical.

Zendaya has ruled both small and big screens for the past few years. Her portrayal of Rue in HBO Max’s Euphoria not only made the show a fan favorite but also made her the youngest woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress.
The actress, 27, has secured several notable roles in movies, such as Chani in Dune and Anne Wheeler in The Greatest Showman. However, before taking on any of those roles, she established herself in the superhero genre by playing Michelle Jones, also known as ‘Mj’, in the MCU’s Spider-Man films. Outside of his popularity in the MCU, Jeremy Renner has been a part of some excellent character-driven films that showed his range as an actor. He first gained significant praise early in his career playing serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the 2002 indie film Dahmer. He received further recognition for his incredible performances in The Town and The Hurt Locker.
Jeremy Renner as James Coughlin in The Town
His most overlooked film from the 2010’s is undoubtedly Arrival, directed by Denis Villeneuve years before he did Dune. Villeneuve’s film presented a unique sci-fi take, involving extra-terrestrial creatures which Renner was initially not sure of how it would turn out. The actor was blown away by the genius of Villeneuve and the brilliance of the film after watching it.

It stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Florence Pugh, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Austin Butler and others.
In Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movies, Timothee Chalamet plays Paul Atreides. When the movie was announced a few years ago, everyone was worried that it would be a good watch. In 1984, David Lynch also made a movie based on Frank’s novel. However, the film performed poorly at the box office, and even the audience wasn’t happy with Lynch’s adaptation.

That is why Funcom has a real possibility of incorporating some of these extraordinary moments into the game Dune: Awakening. This title will be an Mmorpg that will use Unreal Engine 5. Paul Atreides will also be the protagonist, as long as he follows the Fremen and all the things that you saw in the movies. The potential is limitless.

Robert Downey Jr. spent a decade as the face of a multi-billion-dollar franchise and recently took home a well-deserved Academy Award. No matter how you slice it, the actor is doing well, which makes it easy to forget that there once was a time when he was persona non grata in Hollywood, a fate shared by Mel Gibson.
Mel Gibson found his career on the rocks following a 2006 arrest for driving under the influence, which saw him making disparaging remarks about Jewish people, but he had a supporter in Robert Downey Jr. In Esquire‘s recent cover story on Downey Jr., Gibson praised his friend for coming to his defence.
“One time, I got into a bit of a sticky situation where it kind of ended my career. I was drunk in the back of a police car and I said some stupid shit, and all of a sudden: blacklisted.

To understand why is the industry so conflicted over how to release movies, check out the contradictory paths of two Amazon films, “The Beekeeper” and “Road House.”
The first, which stars Jason Statham as a righteous avenger, is a $40 million production acquired by Amazon MGM for the US. It grossed $66 million in its domestic theatrical release and went on to become a hit as a $19.99 PVOD. Currently, it’s $5.99 to rent and is #1 at iTunes (which ranks by transactions) as well as Fandango (which tracks by revenue).
That’s nearly unheard of at Fandango, which sometimes see its entire top 10 comprised of $19.99 titles. It is also unusual for a mid-level success like “The Beekeeper” to be so dominant on VOD.
Meantime, “Road House” skipped theaters and leads Reelgood’s list of most-streamed movies for the week ending last Wednesday.
At Netflix, another random theatrical release dominates its most-watched movie chart.
