Is Fargo really Fargo if it doesn’t feature a cop (or two) with a heart of gold? While not all law enforcement is good in the FX anthology’s world, there was no questioning Witt Farr’s (Lamorne Morris) morality upon meeting him in Year 5’s premiere episode. Acknowledging the danger kidnapped housewife Dorothy “Dot” Lyon (Juno Temple) finds herself in, Witt steps up to try and help release her from the clutches of a bitter ex who is determined to be repaid for a “debt” he feels he’s owed. The two-part Lifetime movie in which Pullman portrays convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh wasn’t, by any means, a light-hearted project. And while focusing on heavier topics, some actors turn to “comfort” TV or movies.

The animated sitcom as it exists today — The Great North, Krapopolis, Rick and Morty, the list goes on — enjoys a level of quality that animators might have sold their drafting tables for in the 1990s. Fluidity and fidelity are the first two qualities you'll notice about these types of shows, regardless of how offbeat their character design is or how extravagant their vocal cast might be. Even South Park has finessed its famously crappy house style well beyond anything we could have imagined. The animated sitcom is now so polished with hypercompetence and homogeneity that it makes older series like Home Movies feel anarchic by comparison.

Taylor Tomlinson didn’t imagine herself as a host when she first met with CBS about their “@Midnight” reboot last year. She assumed the filming schedule would interfere with her first love — stand-up — but it was worth taking the meeting to meet new people and maybe score some panelist appearances.
But when the executives in charge revealed they’d create a filming schedule that would allow her to still perform comedy gigs on the weekends, an entirely new world opened up.
“I took this job because I wanted to develop new skills and grow as a person,” Tomlinson tells Variety while walking around her set.

Former USA Network drama “White Collar” was a basic-cable relic before it was added to the Netflix library on April 1, 2024. But like “Suits” before it, another USA drama that found new life when it wound up on Netflix, “White Collar” has since turned up on Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Overall (original and acquired series) list — twice.
“White Collar,” a Fox-produced show, has been on Hulu (because Disney’s Fox acquisition closed in 2019) since December 2018. But until Netflix nabbed the co-exclusive rights this spring, the series had never been a factor in streaming. The show, which ran from 2009-2014 on USA Network, was pretty much an afterthought. Severance may not have a return date yet, but the first footage and photo released Monday by Apple TV+ have us eagerly awaiting our next elevator ride to Lumon Industries.
In the very beginning of the streamer’s latest preview video (watch it embedded above), we see Seth Milchick greeting Adam Scott’s Mark Scout with a sinister, “Been a minute.” Then at the 45-second mark, we see a trippy visual of Scott as he lays on a table, and later takes off running down one of Lumon’s creepy white hallways. Finally toward the end, we see elevator doors closing just as Mark shouts,...

Shari Redstone may have yet another offer on the table to buy National Amusements Inc., the controlling shareholder of Paramount Global — the latest twist in the months-long M&a drama swirling around the troubled media conglomerate.
Erstwhile media mogul Edgar Bronfman Jr. is teaming with investment firm Bain Capital to put together an offer of up to $2.5 billion for Redstone’s National Amusements, sources confirmed. Nai owns 77% of the voting shares in Paramount.
At this point, Bronfman and Bain have not made a formal offer to buy Nai; it’s unclear what their plan for Paramount would be if they succeeded in acquiring National Amusements.

Sam Asghari won’t be able to speak at all about his ex-wife Britney Spears on the upcoming season of The Traitors. According to a report by TMZ, sources told the publication that Asghari is not allowed to say anything negative or positive about the pop singer during his time on Peacock‘s latest installment of the popular reality series. On May 2, it was confirmed by AP that the couple had officially split after being married for nearly two years, the divorce settlement coming out only a week after Spears reached a separate court settlement with her father over lingering issues in her conservatorship. The couple had reportedly been separated since July 2023 and filed for divorce in August. They had been dating for seven years. While Asghari has not publicly bad-mouthed Spears since their separation, sources close to TMZ confirmed that Spears wants no mention of her name or their...

How long will Mayor of Kingstown last? A whole lot longer, according to Hugh Dillon, who co-created the series alongside Taylor Sheridan and stars in it as Ian. He explained that the series, which is now in its third season, has been sketched out from start to finish… and now it’s just a matter of watching it all play out until the planned ending, with Season 7. Dillon explained that while Mayor of Kingstown debuted after Yellowstone in the Taylor Sheridan universe, it was actually in the works first. “Taylor Sheridan is my mentor. He coached me on probably 100 episodes of television. This was the first thing he ever wrote. So I’d go over to his house, he’d be coaching me… I’m from this town, I’ve always been a songwriter. I’ve taken stabs at writing, and I was like, I want to make take a stab at writing.

Benoit Blanc returns in his most dangerous case yet. Production has begun in London on Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third film featuring the celebrated, Southern-fried detective created by writer/director Rian Johnson and played by Daniel Craig. The new installment is produced by Johnson and producer Ram Bergman’s production company T-Street.
We first met Blanc in 2019’s Knives Out, when he was hired to investigate the death of bestselling author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer). In that film, Blanc teamed up with nurse Marta Cabrera (Ana de Armas) to uncover the truth in a twisted case filled with angry relatives, red herrings, and fabulous knitwear.
Blanc’s skills were called upon once more in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, when he headed to Greece to peel back the layers of intrigue surrounding tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) and an eclectic group of disruptors.

Are we in a Josh Hartnett renaissance? The term renaissance means rebirth or revival. But Josh Hartnett has never gone away — not really.
Between 1998 and 2002, Hartnett was a staple in films. It’s not often that someone’s first movies are as memorable as “Halloween H20,” “The Faculty” and “The Virgin Suicides.” Follow that up with “Black Hawk Down,” “O” and “Pearl Harbor,” and it’s hard to think of someone who was busier than he was in such a small amount of time.
He also never stopped working. Hartnett left Hollywood, moving to England with his wife and four children,...

Sometimes you look up and you’re like, ‘Oh, this is really great.’ Then you look over and you’re like ‘Oh snap! There’s Ryan Reynolds!'” Then, the camera cut to Reynolds, who was seated in the crowd alongside his mother. When asked to explain his decision to drop in, Reynolds was more than happy to: “By the way, this is way less stressful than up there,” Reynolds said to start, referencing his rather dramatic appearance on the show in 2011 alongside The Change-Up costar Jason Bateman, when his divorce from Scarlett Johansson was a topic of discussion. “My mom is here visiting her grandkids, and yesterday she said, ‘It’s my dream to go to The View.

Cody Christian is a teen drama veteran, having spent six seasons playing Asher Adams, a bad boy football player turned coach, on The CW’s All American. The series, which centers on star football player Spencer James (Daniel Ezra), was recently renewed for a seventh season. Not only is All American the last standing teen drama on The CW (the spin-off All American: Homecoming will end after Season 3), it’s one of the only scripted shows left on the network, period.
However, Christian was well-known in the teen drama world long before he set foot on the Beverly Hills High football field. He starred as Mike Montgomery on ABC Family/Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars for six seasons and delivered a memorable performance as Theo Raeken on MTV’s Teen Wolf.

Emilia Clarke “couldn’t carry on” after surviving two brain aneurysms during “Game of Thrones.”
The actress, who played Daenerys Targaryen on the hit HBO show, told Big Issue that she was first concerned she would “get fired” following her aneurysms. At one point, as Big Issue wrote, Clarke even “asked medical staff to let her die” in fear of never acting again.

The View‘s audience was highly amused by one bit of required reading on Monday’s show. After the cohosts had a lively discussion about Donald Trump and his post-conviction political rallies, Sunny Hostin had to take care of a little business. As the attorney of the group, she did her daily duty of reading out a legal notice that reads, “Trump has denied ever having an affair with Stormy Daniels.” After a beat of awkward silence on Hostin’s part, a chorus of laughter could be heard coming from the crowd. Hostin’s legal note came into play after she herself mentioned Daniels’ allegation that she and Trump were watching “Shark Week” during their brief affair, which would later result in a payout and subsequent conviction of Trump for felonious financial charges. Elsewhere in the conversation, Sara Haines offered her thoughts as to why Trump’s expected “revenge tour...
