General Hospital (Gh) spoilers note that Carly Spencer has been wreaking havoc in the land of Port Charles for well over 25 years now. While she is a staple character on the show, and a “heroine” now and again, she’s also created her fair share of drama over the years.
The role was originated by actress Sarah Brown in 1996, and after some recasts, Laura Wright stepped into the character in 2005. In fact, Wright has been the longest reigning “Carly” on the soap since. The actress recently talked with Soap Opera Digest (Sod) revealing what she admired most about her character.
General Hospital Spoilers – Carly Spencer Is “Unapologetic”
Gh spoilers indicate that Carly is caught between a rock and a hard place right now, as she tries to reunite besties Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). She’s also trying to smooth over the mob boss’s brokenness.

Kevin Wright joined Marvel Studios as a development assistant before being tasked with working as a production and development manager on 2016's Doctor Strange. From there, he rose to associate producer on Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018 and, as a full-fledged producer, took charge of Loki.
Now, though, his time in the MCU has reached its end.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Loki executive producer and former Vice President of production and development at Marvel Studios has exited his position to produce original film and TV projects, independently. It's currently unclear what those will be but they'll surely be worth keeping an eye on.
"I am incredibly proud of my contributions to the MCU and thankful for my time at Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Company," he told the trade. "The industry has changed dramatically during my near decade with the company, and I can no longer ignore...

The MCU has experienced a bit of a lull in recent years. While they’ve provided audiences with occasional hits, the slew of flops cannot be ignored. In this pivotal moment, the departure of Kevin R. Wright, who has been the man behind one of the most successful shows in MCU history, from the Marvel offices, might spell bad news for both the fans and the studio.

With projects like Loki, which have pushed boundaries and expanded the MCU’s narrative in a way people did not expect, Wright’s absence could leave a significant void in the studio.

Kevin R. Wright’s MCU timeline has come to a close. The Loki executive producer and now-former VP of production and development at Marvel Studios has exited his position to produce original film and TV projects, independently. Wright was one of the central creative figures behind the Tom Hiddleston-led Loki, which is widely considered to be the crown jewel of Marvel Studios’ Disney+ slate. On top of six Emmy nominations, the time-bending sci-fi series is the first-and-only MCU live-action series to receive a second season thus far.
In 2018, when Disney CEO Bob Iger pivoted to streaming with Disney+, he asked his most successful studio, led by Kevin Feige, to expand its shared universe into television. So Wright took the initiative with regard to a potential series about the God of Mischief, crafting a 30-page pitch that included many of the future show’s foundational elements, including the Time Variance Authority.

If Harry Potter was produced today, there would have been a lot of unsolicited comments from fans, and Bonnie Wright is thankful that social media wasn’t a big part of everyone’s lives back when the first movie came out.

If you thought "Loki" season 2 was confusing, you're not alone: the cast of the Marvel show probably did too, thanks to some purposeful misdirection – or, as executive producer Kevin Wright explained it to Marvel.com, outright lying – that went on behind the scenes during a key moment in production.
The lies in question related to episode 4 of the show's second season, a complicated, climactic chapter that features several key power changes and plenty of mortal peril. In it, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) "prunes" a version of himself from the past, and Brad Wolfe (Rafael Casal) is compelled to prune Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), too. The episode ends with the group of timeline-hoppers trying to enact their master plan to save the universe: Victor Timely (Jonathan Majors) steps outside of the Tva's headquarters, attempting to fix the out-of-control Temporal Loom that's threatening to destabilize. Only, it doesn't work: Timely explodes into ribbons of spaghetti-like material,...

Batman has seen various incarnations over the years, whether it be live-action or animation. The character remains one of the most beloved among the pantheon of DC heroes, and multiple stories surrounding the character continue to be adapted. One of the unique iterations of the character was 2018’s Batman Ninja, putting a Japanese spin to the character.

The animated film received mixed reviews from fans and did not garner much hype and excitement from general audiences. Now, a sequel has been announced titled Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League. The list includes a bunch of names, but in our report, we have decided to list the first ten names from the site, as to provide you with a better insight, combined with our original comment and opinions which will add flavor to the whole report.

As far as iconic franchises go, George Miller’s Mad Max films are right up there among Hollywood’s favorite films. Miller created the dystopian action series back in 1979 with Mel Gibson, which was followed by 2 successful sequels in the 80s.

We first crossed paths with Isaac Dixon in The Last of Us Part II; the leader of the Washington Liberation Front, he's an antagonist in the game and someone it appears we'll soon learn more about.
A newly revealed set photo (first shared on GameFragger.com) from The Last of Us season 2 shows Jeffrey Wright suited up as a younger version of the villain. The game only revealed a few minor details about his past, including the fact he moved to Seattle after serving in the United States Marine Corps. In the present, he's Abby's boss and she's his most trusted soldier.
Interestingly, the uniform suggests Isaac is working for Fedra at this point in the timeline, suggesting the TV series will explore how and why he turned on them after becoming one of the many people who rebelled against military control.

This post contains spoilers for the "Stargate" franchise.
Roland Emmerich's 1994 sci-fi drama "Stargate" posits an intriguing premise. An ancient ring-shaped device excavated during an archaeological expedition in Giza turns out to be a two-way portal connecting similar devices on distant plants, using a wormhole as a means to transport people. The film's elaborate plot gradually reveals that extraterrestrial beings enslaved parts of the human civilization, and used the Stargate device to trap them in their home planets across the galaxy. Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner's beloved series "Stargate Sg-1" builds its foundation on the film's lore, expanding a dystopian world where military organizations on Earth use the Stargate to free the enslaved humans and protect the planet from a vicious alien race known as the Goa'uld.

General Hospital (Gh) spoilers note that recasts are a thing in the land of Port Charles – just like any other daytime drama!
Still, when Soap Opera Digest (Sod) recently asked some of our favorite Gh actresses about the advice they’d give someone who was stepping into a recast role, their answers brought home similar messages.
General Hospital Spoilers – Laura Wright’s Advice For Recasts
Gh spoilers note that Laura Wright knows a thing or two about recasts. While it seems like she has been in the Carly Spencer role “forever” she was Carly recast #5, taking the character over in 2005. Her advice when stepping into the shoes of an already established character?
She tells Sod, that they should “watch what they have to watch” from a previous actor to learn relationship dynamics with other characters on the show; however, they should also, let it go and bring their own dynamic.

Edgar Wright's "Three Flavours Cornetto" trilogy is not your standard movie trilogy. The three films aren't sequels to each other — they don't share characters. But they do share cast members and similar themes, particularly themes of relationships and the dangers of being trapped in perpetual adolescence. They also share ice cream. Specifically Cornetto brand ice cream, which pops up in some form in all three films. Cornetto was mentioned in the first film, "Shaun of the Dead," as a throwaway joke — a cure for a hangover. However, when the joke resulted in Wright and co-writer/star Simon Pegg landing free Cornetto ice cream cones at the "Shaun of the Dead" wrap-party, they decided to keep the gag going. It took off, and resulted in Wright nicknaming the three films the "Three Flavours Cornetto" trilogy as a parody of Krzysztof Kieślowski's "Three Colours" trilogy.

If you can add Jeffrey Wright to your film/TV series/video game/secondary school play, you add Jeffrey Wright. The Last Of Us game creator Neil Druckmann already knew this, having the Academy Award-nominated actor voice a character called Isaac in The Last Of Us Part II and now he and fellow TV series adaptation show-runner Craig Mazin are keeping that tradition intact, with Wright reprising the role, this time in live action for the show's second season.
Game players will know who he is, but for those whose first experience of the story is the show, we'll look to avoid spoilers by simply quoting the series' official line on the character: "the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy."

Most critics and fans will agree that The Last of Us video game series is one of the best ever. A survival horror on the surface, the game is actually an exceptionally complex post-apocalyptic tale that sends a significant warning, as well as shows some great character development. The game has been adapted into a live-action series by HBO, starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. The series was a major hit, winning numerous awards and earning praise from fans and critics alike, which, of course, led to a second season, which is being produced as of the time of writing, and we have a very exciting casting update that we want to report about!

You can't do better than Jeffrey Wright, so why even try? The actor is coming off his first-ever Oscar nod for "American Fiction," which is frankly shocking given the pedigree of his previous work. We're talking about the man who starred in Mike Nichols' "Angels in America" miniseries (reprising the role he played in the original Pulitzer Prize-winning play's Broadway debut), spent 15 years playing Felix Leiter, the coolest cat in the Daniel Craig James Bond movies, and was the Mvp of Matt Reeves' "The Batman" as Jim Gordon. He was also everyone's favorite human-turned-host, Bernard Lowe, across all four seasons of "Westworld" and has recently become a member of Wes Anderson's acting troupe.

Despite what you may think, Memorial Day isn’t just a day off work or an occasion for a good storewide mattress sale. The ostensible purpose of this federal holiday, of course, is to remember the sacrifice of those who have died while serving in our country’s five armed services branches: the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy—all of which continue to suffer great losses performing their duties around the globe.
The experiences of servicemen and servicewomen have served as the basis of countless movies and TV shows over the years, in all sorts of different forms. But the most powerful of these are the ones based upon actual journalistic accounts from real-life soldiers. So in advance of Memorial Day on Monday, here are five military-themed indies we love…

The dust was just beginning to settle and the smell of guzzolene was still in the air after Wednesday night’s high-octane Cannes premiere of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. But after more than a decade of development and a grueling shoot, the work was not done for filmmaker George Miller and stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, who faced the international press during a lively conference to discuss the long journey to their Fury Road prequel.
Australian filmmaker Miller has now made five Mad Max films over 45 years, but none have been as anticipated as Furiosa. That’s thanks to the pedigree of Fury Road, Miller’s 2015 film that introduced the world to Imperator Furiosa, played in that feature by Charlize Theron. It is considered one of the greatest action movies of all time and became a surprise awards season juggernaut that won six Oscars.

Filmmaker George Miller has made no bones about classic cinema’s influence on the Mad Max saga over the years. Iconic physical comedians like Buster Keaton or Harold Lloyd are cited often as inspirations for the queasy death-defying stunts that Max Rockatansky or Imperator Furiosa get up to, including when we spoke with the writer-director. He even muses to us, “Buster Keaton would survive very well, actually” in the fabled Wasteland.
Perhaps so too then would the stars he selected to bring his most epic adventure yet on the Fury Road to life. Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth are actors that most moviegoers will be familiar with when Furiosa opens later this month—although never in roles like these. Cast as diametrically opposed nemeses forced to endure the harsh desert ruins of a post-apocalyptic Australia, Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa and Hemsworth’s Dr. Dementus are radical departures for the performers. By this point, it’s reasonable to assume that most gamers have either been cheating all along or have tried their hand at cheating in Sims 4 at least once. The brainchild of game designer Will Wright, The Sims series was crafted by Maxis, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts (EA). The concept of The Sims was born from Wright’s fascination with architecture and urban design, as well as his intrigue with human behavior and social complexities. The development of the first game, simply titled The Sims, began in the late 1990s. It cruises its way into the ranks of the best-selling

Henry Kissinger may have only died in November, but the controversial politician is already set to get the satirical comedy treatment.
Tim Roth, Robin Wright, Mary-Louise Parker, Lucy Hale, David Cross, Jimmy O. Yang, Rob Corddry and Dylan Penn are in talks to star in the feature film “Kissinger Takes Paris,” set during Kissinger’s younger, pre-Vietnam War years.
Roth (“The Hateful Eight,” “Sundown”) will star as Kissinger, while Jeff Stanzler will direct from his screenplay, and Claude Dal Farra and Brian Keady of Bcdf Pictures (“To Leslie”) are producing along with Stanzler. CAA Media Finance and Concourse Media are co-representing domestic rights, and Concourse is handling international rights, with sales launching at Cannes.

General Hospital spoilers tease that Laura Wright has been a soap opera fixture since 1991. She’s played characters on Loving, the City, All My Children, Guiding Light and now General Hospital. But one of the most difficult days she ever had to film aired earlier this year. But it all started a year ago this week when Jaclyn Zeman passed away.
On May 9, 2023 Zeman, who played Bobbi Spencer died. Zeman began playing Bobbi in 1977 through 2010. She returned in 2013 and continued as Bobbi until she passed.
General Hospital Spoilers – General Hospital Said Goodbye To Both Jaclyn Zeman And Bobbi Spencer
Because of the writers’ strike, the show didn’t actually address Bobbi’s death until earlier this year. Even though a little bit of time had passed, saying goodbye was not easy for the cast.

It’s been over 18 months since we first shared the news of Sydney Sweeney’s plans to produce and star in a reboot of Roger Vadim’s cult 1968 sci-fi Barbarella. Since then, Sweeney’s star has risen and risen, with the Euphoria sensation releasing a slew of films including rom-com Anyone But You, erotic thriller The Voyeurs, and nunsploitation flick Immaculate, leaving ol’ Barb on the back burner. But now it looks like Sweeney has found the right stuff to finally get the project off the ground. The Wright stuff, in fact.

Edgar Wright will direct a remake of Barbarella starring Sydney Sweeney, and here are details of the upcoming film.
It was reported last year thar Edgar Wright was going to direct a remake of Barbarella. The original 1968 film, adapted from the French comic book series by Jean-Claude Forest and directed by Roger Vadim, followed Jane Fonda as an astronaut from the 41st century. She sets out to find and stop the evil scientist Durand Durand, whose Positronic Ray threatens to bring evil back into the galaxy.
Jane Fonda has repeatedly claimed that she pushed its producer, Dino De Laurentiis to make a feminist take on the film many times but he always refused.
According to Deadline, the new film is now officially in development, with Wright directing from a screenplay by Jane Goldman and her daughter Honey. Sydney Sweeney will star in the picture too, we now learn.

When Sydney Sweeney brandishes a curiously phallic laser gun for her reimagining of Barbarella, she could be doing so under the watchful eye of Edgar Wright. According to Deadline, Wright is in talks to direct Barbarella, with Jane and Honey Goldman negotiating to co-write the script.
As Deadline notes, bringing Jane Goldman aboard shows how serious Sony is about assigning strong talent to Sweeney’s dream project. Jane Goldman’s writing credits include screenplays for Kick-Ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service, X-Men: First Class, Stardust, the upcoming Kingsman: The Blue Blood, and more.
During the backlash for Sony’s abysmal Marvel film Madame Web, Sweeney said she joined the film to position herself to pitch Anyone But You. The rom-com was an admirable success, with $219M+ worldwide. With Sweeney being a bankable star at the studio, Sony is ready to shoot her into space for an action-packed remake of Roger Vadim...

The Barbarella feature starring Sydney Sweeney is getting more oxygen.
Edgar Wright is in talks to direct the film for Sony Pictures, with Jane Goldman and Honey Ross in talks to write the script, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The project is still in early development and is planned as a new take on the character that originated in a French comic series from Jean-Claude Forest.
Barbarella, a mercenary who travels the universe, was portrayed by Jane Fonda in a 1968 movie version that has become a cult favorite. Sweeney’s involvement in the new film was announced in 2022.
This continues Sweeney’s relationship with Sony, with the actress having starred late last year alongside Glen Powell in the studio’s rom-com Anyone but You before appearing with Dakota Johnson in this year’s superhero flick Madame Web.

A fun game those of legal drinking age can play while watching Roger Vadim's surreal/sexy 1968 Eurotrash space romp "Barbarella": take a drink every time Barbarella (Jane Fonda) changes costumes. One will be blindingly intoxicated by the 20-minute mark. "Barbarella" takes place in the distant future wherein the President of Earth (Claude Dauphin) has tasked the title heroine, a freelance space captain, to locate and retrieve Durand-Durand (Milo O'Shea) a scientist who has invented the positronic ray, a weapon of massive destructive power. Barbarella must trek through a picaresque adventure, stopping to be savaged by killer dolls, locked into an orgasm machine (!), and to befriend a friendly angel (John Philip Law). The film was based on the bawdy 1966 French comic by Jean-Claude Forest.

The Sydney Sweeney-led “Barbarella” film is taking shape, with Edgar Wright in talks to direct the picture for Sony. Jane Goldman and Honey Ross are in talks to pen the script.
Wright, best known for making the satiric zombie film “Shaun of the Dead,” is next set to direct Glen Powell in an adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Running Man.” Wright’s other directorial credits include “Last Night in Soho,” “Hot Fuzz,” “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and “Baby Driver.”

In November 2022, Coogler and Feige were reported to have discussed a potential third Black Panther film. By January 2023, Wright indicated that a third film was being considered, suggesting that the cast and Coogler needed time to regroup before beginning work on it.
Now, already a year has passed and everything points in the direction of Coogler officially signing on to direct the threequel.
This of course wasn’t officially confirmed yet, but we’re sure it’s going to be announced any day, at least according to most recent rumors. In addition to the ‘Black Panther 3’ announcement, Coogler is also set to direct the upcoming ‘X-Men’ Live-action reboot.

George MacKay and director Paul Wright are reuniting for Mission, a new drama film filming in Scotland now.
Over 10 years after the pair collaborated on For Those In Peril, George MacKay and writer-director Paul Wright are set to make another film together.
That film is Mission, a new drama that follows Dylan, an alienated man who goes on a journey of self-discovery.
Here’s a proper description:
Mission is a punk exploration of the psyche which follows alienated Dylan (MacKay) as he throws off the shackles of his solitary life in an attempt to experience the highs and lows of existence at its most extreme, embarking on a thrilling journey of self-discovery that proves both inspiring and terrifying.
MacKay was last seen in Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping’s ambitious and impressive thriller Femme, which we were big fans of. For Wright, Mission will be the first feature...

The Baby Driver actor, Edgar Wright, is somewhat of a film critic in his downtime on social media. A few days back, he shared his thoughts on Challengers, and now it’s Furiosa’s turn. Having had the opportunity to watch the film beforehand, it seems he had an absolute blast.
Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa in the film’s trailer.
He rates this revenge movie a solid 10/10. Wright also mentioned that the film’s subtitle, “A Mad Max Saga,” lives up to its word, reminiscent of another revenge film classic, the 11-time Oscar-winning Ben-Hur. Here’s what he had to say about it.
Edgar Wright Compared Furiosa to This Oscar-Winning Classic!
Mad Max: Fury Road was undeniably a resounding success! So, when George Miller took on the responsibility of expanding the saga and following up on the masterpiece that entranced audiences in 2015, people undoubtedly had some apprehensions.

Edgar Wright loves to talk about his favorite movies. And lavish praise on recent films as well, such as his enthusiastic response to “Challengers.” On May 7, he took to Twitter to post a long response about his latest obsession: George Miller’s upcoming “Furiosa.”
The film will make its debut at Cannes before opening in theaters May 24. But how do you follow up “Mad Max: Fury Road,” one of the most acclaimed action movies of this century? From the overwhelmingly positive first reactions, Miller’s answer appears to be: Don’t try to repeat yourself.
Wright believes Miller nailed it. Where “Fury Road” was a chase epic, “Furiosa” is a revenge film, Wright said.
“Even though I understand what it takes to make a film, I still don’t understand how Dr. George Miller does it,” Wright wrote. “I was lucky enough to see ‘Furiosa’ a month ago, and I...
