Dave Coulier, known for his role as Joey Gladstone on the 90s sitcom Full House, recently shared a surprising tidbit on his podcast, Full House Rewind. During a conversation with actress Debra Stipe, who played Danny Tanner’s girlfriend Cindy, Coulier revealed the origin of his character’s last name. Joey’s Last Name Choice Coulier disclosed how he had the chance to select his own last name during the show’s audition process. Jeff Franklin, the creator behind Full House, was brainstorming surnames for Joey’s character when Coulier suggested, How about Gladstone?. Franklin approved instantly, and so Joey Gladstone was born. Origin Behind...

It may seem that Netflix has taken over the period dramas’ scene with the glowing success of Bridgerton, the series that got all the possible titles. However, Apple TV is now killing it with their period shows too, as you may have seen such gems, as Lessons in Chemistry (2023), Masters of the Air, The New Look, and Manhunt (all 2024).
This year the platform released a must-see miniseries that also takes us back in time, but here we embark on a journey together with one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, Benjamin Franklin. This show can even beat Bridgerton by its quality (and it surely does better when it comes to historical accuracy).
It starts by depicting the events of December 1776 after The Declaration of Independence was adopted. Franklin goes on a mission to France as commissioner for the United States, taking his 16-year-old grandson, William Temple Franklin with him.

Daniel Fienberg The shift to a backloaded schedule built around a May 31 deadline for Emmy consideration has drained some of the surprise from the spring TV calendar. Viewers are growing accustomed to a glut of high-profile limited series and prestige returning shows from March to May, with the biggest titles and stars creating their own gravitational fields of self-perpetuating coverage.
Luckily, though, there’s still room for discovery. With its literary pedigree and a budget that burst off the screen in the form of astonishing evocations of 17th century Japan, FX’s Shogun had “prestige” written all over it. Yet the care taken by creators Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo to deliver this story without having it reek of appropriation and voyeurism was evident throughout. We'll have to wait until midseason to learn what happens next on Will Trent.
While these long hiatuses are challenging, we'll get almost double the episodes in Season 3.
Will Trent Season 2 ended with a cliffhanger that divided the characters and the audience when Will made a polarizing decision that affected one character's fate.
We don't know anything definite about Season 3, except that it will begin even more dramatically after that finale.
Will Trent focuses on two teams: the Gbi, which consists of Amanda, Will, and Faith, and the Apd, which features Det. Ormewood, Angie, Captain Heller, and Franklin.
Sometimes, the teams have merged to solve challenging crimes or because one of their own was in danger.
Amanda offered Angie a chance to switch from the Apd and join the Gbi, but that offer may be off the table now, and the teams may not be as amicable.

Everywhere you look, everywhere you go, there’s a…joint? Dave Coulier recently revealed how Joey Gladstone – his woodchuck-loving would-be comedian on Full House – got his name. And it is far from being as family-friendly as the Tanner clan was.
Speaking on his Full House rewatch podcast, Dave Coulier said he was given the freedom to add to his character, who helps raise DJ, Stephanie and Michelle. “I got to pick my own last name, did you know that? My character last name…Yeah, Jeff [Franklin, the series’ creator] said ‘I’m trying to get a last name for your character,’ and I said, ‘How about Gladstone?’ and he laughed and goes, ‘All right, sounds good.’” So what’s the origin there? “I always thought it was a funny name. It was almost like, ‘I’m glad that I’m stoned.’ You know, I’m a comedian, so that was what I thought.

The Grand Theft Auto series is known for its gritty storytelling and morally ambiguous characters, and GTA V is no exception. However, according to the massive source code leak that made headlines earlier this year, Rockstar Games had planned an even more shocking and brutal ending for one of the game’s beloved protagonists, Trevor Philips.
Here’s what could have been!
Trevor Philips: The ‘Liquid Nitrogen’ Ending GTA V’s Trevor Philips and Michael De Santa | Image via Rockstar Games
Trevor Philips is known for his chaotic and truly unhinged personality, making him one of GTA V’s most unforgettable characters. However, the original ending planned for Trevor was even more brutal than what players experienced in the final game. According to the leaked source code, one of the alternate endings involved Trevor being frozen in liquid nitrogen and then smashed to pieces by Michael with a 2×4 plank. It...

France has never had trouble getting people to fall in love with its many pleasures: the Eiffel Tower, the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre, and the island majesty of Mont Saint-Michel. It sells itself, which is probably why it is such a sought-after backdrop for television series.
But in the last year, France has been shown even more love than usual, as more than half a dozen shows, all vying for Emmy attention this season, explored the country through the ages. And no, this wasn’t some elaborate promotion for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
From the 1600s to the modern day to a post-zombie apocalypse future, no cultural stone went unturned on TV this year, giving viewers even more reason to book their next (hopefully zombie-free) vacation.

Variety has broken the news that there’s a new horror film called Murder with the Stars heading our way – and this one’s coming from an unexpected creative team. Actor Jonathan Silverman, who is best known for his work in comedies like Caddyshack II and the Weekend at Bernie’s duology, will be directing the film, which is being produced by Jeff Franklin, the creator of the TV show Full House and its follow-up Fuller House!
Comedian Craig Shoemaker has written the screenplay… so, while the project isn’t being referred to as a horror comedy at this time, we can probably expect to see a good amount of comedy in the finished product. Shoemaker has previously written episodes of Just the Ten of Us and Fuller House, as well as the films The Lovemaster and Totally Baked.

Last month Eddie Marsan faced a happy dilemma: two high-profile projects in which he co-stars –Apple TV+ series “Franklin” led by Michael Douglas and Sam Taylor Johnson’s highly-anticipated Amy Winehouse biopic “Back to Black” – were both being released on the same day, April 12, in Marsan’s native U.K. (“Back to Black came out in the U.S. on May 17).
The resulting publicity maelstrom was, Marsan says, “intense.” And yet despite that, the actor – who has starred in over 150 screen projects including “Ray Donovan,” “Deadpool 2” and Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes,” can truthfully claim to be “not really that famous.”
Partly that’s because his highest profile roles in the U.S. have seen the East London-born actor putting on an American accent, including in “Franklin,” in which he plays the second U.S. President, John Adams. Marsan has a long history with the character, having once been...

“I was sort of on the same journey as Temple, just maybe 300 years later,” declares Noah Jupe about the similarities between himself and the character of Temple Franklin on the Apple TV+ limited series “Franklin.” In the drama about Founding Father Benjamin Franklin, played by Oscar and Emmy winner Michael Douglas, Temple accompanies his famous grandfather to Paris as the elder Franklin negotiates with the French government during the American Revolution. The younger Franklin struggles to find his own identity out from under his grandfather’s shadow. In an exclusive chat with Gold Derby (watch the video interview above), Jupe discusses peeling back the layers of Temple and working with Douglas on creating a believable, if fractious relationship.
When the series begins, Temple is still a teenager trying to figure himself out, something that the 19 year-old British actor says made his job even easier. “I’m going through that same...

We've come to the end of another week here on Cbm, and while it's been a bit of a slow few days for major news, there are more than enough rumors doing the rounds to keep you going!
In this latest round-up of Marvel Cinematic Universe-related rumors, we have (possible) updates on quite a few upcoming big-screen releases, including The Fantastic Four, the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings sequel, and Avengers 5/Secret Wars. There's also talk of a brand-new project (or projects) featuring Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Men.
According to Daniel Richtman, Sony Pictures wants to bring Maguire and Garfield back as their respective takes on Spider-Man (no surprise after the success of No Way Home), but as "key players" in a Multiverse storyline of their own, separate from the McU's.

What looked like a predictable season finale ended on a devastating cliffhanger.
The Gbi and the Apd were stumped in Will Trent Season 2 Episode 10 as more sex offenders were murdered.
The team practiced some unusual methods to try to crack the case until Will hit the jackpot.
As the bodies stacked up with the name similarities, the same grew more frazzled.
All the victims wore glasses, were asphyxiated, and were found dead with a toy in their mouth.
Since the newest victim had broken ribs, Michael wondered if someone had done a wrong version of the Heimlich Maneuver and demonstrated it on Pete.
That didn't work.
Will got his breakthrough while watching Angie and Betty playing together, though no one understood Will's train of thought until he had Michael and Caroline demonstrate.
This was the most Caroline's ever been involved in a case.
Will was positive that the killer drugged...

Jake Gyllenhaal hosted “Saturday Night Live” last night and the show’s most memorable sketch saw Gyllenhaal playing an iconic pop culture character: Fred from “Scooby-Doo.”
It was titled “Scooby-Doo and the Mystery of the Shadow Phantom,” with Gyllenhaal starring alongside musical guest Sabrina Carpenter as well as “SNL” cast members Sarah Sherman, Mikey Day, and Andrew Dismukes. While it starts like a traditional “Scooby” adventure, with the gang unmasking a mystery, it soon turns into a rated “R” bloodbath.
After Fred reveals the Phantom to be Old Man Franklin, he takes things a step too far and literally rips Old Man Franklin’s face clean off. From there, the Mystery Inc. gang is dispatched in increasingly gruesome ways, while Scoob chows down on the Old Man’s face.
The gore effects are largely digital, but we’ll let it slide.

A parody of Scooby Doo turned bloody on SNL Saturday, with host Jake Gyllenhaal subbing in as the toe-headed Fred while musical guest star Sabrina Carpenter guest starred as Daphne.
Dubbed “Scooby Doo and the Mystery of the Shadow Phantom,” the skit featured Fred investigating a haunted mention with Daphne, Velma (Sarah Sherman) and Shaggy (Mikey Day). An animated Scooby Doo helps to catch the phantom they were looking for, who turns out to be James Austin Johnson as Old Man Franklin.
But Fred thinks Old Man Franklin isn’t who he says he is, so he literally pulls off the skin from the face, leaving behind a bloody skull that sends everyone into a screaming frenzy.
Scooby, meanwhile, dives right in and eats the skin.

Actor Denzel Washington has played several characters that he’s proud of. But not even Washington always gets the roles he’d prefer. When he did this film with Don Cheadle, he found himself a bit jealous that Cheadle snagged the much meatier part.

Of all the contenders to play James Bond next, many would argue that Tom Hardy is effortlessly one of the best choices ever. His wit, charming demeanor, and overall personality make him stand out among everyone else and seem like the perfect choice to embody the peerless spy. Plus, he’s British, so that checks out another box of requirements for the character.

However, even after all these similarities, one thing still stands in the way between everyone deeming him to be the perfect choice for this role. This one thing is his 12-year-old $156 million box office disaster with Chris Pine, This Means War, which featured him as a CIA agent but failed to garner many appraisals for Hardy in the role because of his lackluster performance.

The cast of Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four is growing by the day! After announcing the additions of John Malkovich, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson, Deadline says Poker Face and Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne is joining the latest iteration of Marvel’s first family. Fantastic Four stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm-Richards, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm. There is no indication if the Richards’ children, Valeria and Franklin, will appear in the film. The addition of Natasha Lyonne is already sending Fantastic Four fans into a tizzy with theories about who she could play in the film.
WandaVision director Matt Shakman is directing Fantastic Four from a script by Ric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Plot details are sparse, though we know Julia Garner is playing Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer from the comics.

Every actor has a few films that might not have performed as well as they wanted, including blockbuster star Denzel Washington. But one box-office disappointment was different from the others, as it may have been a direct result of the O.J. Simpson verdict.
How the O.J. Simpson trial might’ve affected ‘Devil in a Blue Dress’ Denzel Washington | Miikka Skaffari/FilmMagic
Devil in a Blue Dress saw Oscar-winner Washington play Easy Rawlins, a private detective investigating a missing woman. The 1995 movie was based on a series of books that Washington and the film’s director Carl Franklin were interested in at the time. The fact that the film was about a black investigator in the 1940s added another layer to Franklin’s noir film for him to play with.
“It gives you another obstacle,” Franklin said in an interview with Slate. “Of course, obstacles are the key to drama.

X-Men comics have always been about the future. They are, after all, stories about mutants, the next stage in human evolution. The central tension dividing Professor Charles Xavier and his best friend Magneto is how to go into that future, either working with humanity or ruling them.
X-Men comics have also always been very, very confusing, with their frequent tales of clones, shape-changers, and alternate realities.
Given those two facts, it’s no wonder that X-Men creators would embrace time travel as a storytelling conceit, throwing Marvel’s Merry Band of Mutants far into the future or launching them deep into the past. The results vary, but these fifteen tales represent the best, and sometimes most headache inducing, of the X-Men’s adventures across time.

X-men Editor Sheds New Light On Why Jonathan Hickman Abandoned The Krokoa Age After Relaunching Team
Secret Wars writer Jonathan Hickman rebooted the X-Men in 2019 with House of X and Powers of X, two titles which saw the mutants figure out immortality and create a new base on the island of Krakoa.
The game-changing storyline completely changed the role of mutants in the Marvel Universe and is set to wrap up this summer, roughly five years after it began. However, Hickman left the X-Men line much sooner than any of us expected, meaning we never got to see his full vision for the heroes.
Talking to Aipt about the "Krakoa Age," X-Men Senior Editor Jordan D. White admitted that much of what Hickman hoped to do with the team quickly proved to be off-limits to him.

Galactus in Marvel comic books
Even though fans are excited to witness the character’s debut, the cosmic being can overpower the strongest of heroes with ease. As a result, his addition would make him a bigger threat than any other villain. However, the debut can turn into a major disaster as a scooper has shed some light on the potential plot of the film, and fans are not delighted with it.

After a disastrous 2023 for the DC brand, Warner Bros. hopes to deliver at least one hit comic book movie this year with Joker: Folie à Deux.
2019's Joker grossed over $1 billion on a modest $55 million budget. However, with reports swirling that the sequel cost upwards of $200 million, the studio will surely be hoping it hasn't allowed filmmaker Todd Phillips to indulge too much with this follow-up. After all, musicals are a tough sell at the best of times and comic book adaptations have struggled greatly post-covid.
We'll see what happens, but when the first teaser trailer dropped last month, one of the biggest surprises was an appearance from British actor and filmmaker Steve Coogan.
Best known in the UK for portraying comedy icon Alan Partridge, his film and television credits include Hot Fuzz, Tropic Thunder, Minions, the Night at the Museum franchise, Happyish, and The Reckoning.

If you're at all familiar with Marvel's First Family, then you'll know they've had to stop Galactus from consuming Earth on countless occasions. However, in Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four, it appears the World-Eater will have a very different reason for visiting the planet.
Undeterred by Disney and Marvel taking legal action to discover their identity, scooper @CanWeGetToast has shared a rumour today claiming that Galactus comes to Earth in search of Franklin Richards (who is reportedly "born in space").
The son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, Franklin is an incredibly powerful mutant with the ability to create new realities and even rewrite his own.
He has a complicated history with Galactus which has included him actually taking the villain's place in the "Earth X" reality and making the big bad his Herald back on Earth-616 to fend off a Celestial attack. We don't know which comics The Fantastic Four is pulling inspiration from,...

Michael Douglas has starred in some of the most iconic erotic thrillers ever made, from “Basic Instinct” to “Fatal Attraction,” so he knows a thing or two about crafting a memorable movie sex scene. In a new interview with The Telegraph, the actor gave his honest opinion about intimacy coordinators becoming the new normal in Hollywood when it comes to filming intimate moments on set.
“I’m past the age where I’ve got to worry about that. But it’s interesting with all the intimacy coordinators,” Douglas said when the topic of sex scenes came up during the interview. “It feels like executives taking control away from filmmakers — but there have been some terrible faux pas and harassment.”
“Sex scenes are like fight scenes, it’s all choreographed,” Douglas continued. “In my experience, you take responsibility as the man to make sure the woman is comfortable, you talk it through.

Michael Douglas is joining the on-going discussion about the use of intimacy coordinators on set, terming them another tool employed by Hollywood executives to limit their filmmakers. The “Basic Instinct” and “Fatal Attraction” icon told the Radio Times during a recent interview (via The Telegraph) that the role of intimacy coordinators “feels like executives taking control away from filmmakers” on set.

Remember the tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin from our childhood? The one where a piper came to rid the town of rats by playing his magical tunes, luring the pests away into the lake? But when he wasn’t paid as promised, he took away the children as revenge. Classic folklore, right? But what if I told you that legend has it that the Pied Piper isn’t just a story of the past? He still lurks among us. Not in bright, colorful clothes, but as a dark and ominous creature, playing his haunting musical hymns in a sinister manner. In the movie The Piper, directed by Erlingur Thoroddsen, the story goes like this: Catherine, inspired by the legend of the Pied Piper, creates a concerto for children. But when the tunes from her concerto lead to tragic consequences, causing the deaths of children, she tries to destroy them.

Tyler Perry and Netflix are expanding their creative partnership. Fresh off his most recent film Mea Culpa, the multihyphenate has signed a new deal alongside producer DeVon Franklin (last year’s Oscar-nominated Flamin’ Hot) to produce faith-based films that will stream exclusively on Netflix. The Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud continues to escalate after the Canadian rapper released “The Heart Part 6,” a new diss track Sunday night that pushed back against some of the sexual predator allegations made by Lamar in a series of songs released over the last week.
The biggest rap feud in years has increasingly become vitriolic and personal, and has seen both Drake and Lamar throw unsubstantiated allegations at each other. Among them, Drake has accused Lamar of physically abusing his partner, and Lamar suggested Drake has a hidden love child. In his last few tracks, Lamar has focused on allegations that Drake is a sexual predator, and in the song “Meet the Grahams,” which was released May 3, he directly accuses Drake of harboring “sex offenders” at his label Ovo and even calls his rival a “pervert” for his alleged interest in younger women. Michael Douglas is in terrific form as Benjamin Franklin in Apple TV’s new historical limited series “Franklin” but he isn’t the only actor to emerge with awards whispers whizzing through the air. Veteran actor Eddie Marsan features in a key supporting role as John Adams and delivers one of the finest performances of his career while also shining a new light onto a man that many actors have depicted before.
The limited series follows Franklin’s eight years in France as he tried to persuade King Louis XVI (Tom Pezier) to join the colonies’ cause and aid them in the American Revolutionary War. Getting ready to make your 2024 Emmy predictions for Best TV Movie/Limited Series Actor? Be sure to scroll through our photo gallery showcasing the men who are most likely to land in the lineup. Out in front is “Fargo” star and former drama lead winner Jon Hamm, who could also pick up dual supporting bids this year for the comedy and drama series “Good Omens” and “The Morning Show.”
Hamm would be the first actor to win this award for “Fargo,” following the unsuccessful bids of inaugural season cast members Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton and third season lead Ewan McGregor. As the star of “A Gentleman in Moscow,” McGregor happens to be seeking a second win in this category after being honored for “Halston” in 2021.
Others vying for bookend trophies here are Michael Douglas (“Franklin”; formerly of “Behind the Candelabra”) and Benedict Cumberbatch (“Eric”; “Sherlock”). Also in the mix is Tony Shalhoub,...

If you were a kid growing up in the ’80s, one thing was true. Video games were the spawn of Satan. Okay, we know that isn’t true. But our parents? Adults were terrified of your Atari and your Nintendo, and filmmakers made all sorts of movies that painted games in a negative light. In Wargames a nuclear war was damn near started! While there were plenty of films that understood the imagination and the creative spirit that video games could foster, such as Tron and The Last Starfighter for examples, there’s also a film such as Cloak & Dagger, which goes to some really dark territory to teach a lesson to kids that, honestly, everyone could stand to learn.
Cloak and Dagger starred Henry Thomas. Y’know, the E.T. kid (who we recently profiled on Wtf Happened to this Celeb), who grew up to become the Suicide...

Apple TV+ is sure to perform well at this year’s Emmys with a number of shows strongly positioned including “Lessons in Chemistry,” “Sugar,” “Manhunt,” “The New Look,” and “Masters of the Air.” Well, add in another limited series to that mix — the historical drama “Franklin,” starring Oscar-winner Michael Douglas as the titular Benjamin Franklin.
The show chronicles Franklin’s eight years in France, wherein he attempted to convince King Louis XVI (Tom Pezier) to support the colonies in the American Revolutionary War. The series, as you’d expect, features fabulous costumes, sets, and hair and makeup. It is anchored by a powerhouse performance from Douglas, whose take on Franklin is a more modern one. The show is all the more entertaining for it, as noted by critics.
Michael Starr (New York Post) stated: “My advice is to sit back and enjoy Douglas as he admirably chews the scenery and...
