Insidious (2010)
What did I just watch ?
I really thought this would be a good one as I really liked The Conjuring. This was really bad. Not scary, trying too hard, too busy. It's a big no from me, the two stars is for the first 20 mins because it didn't start off terrible.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
I can't believe all the good reviews
This is probably the most shockingly bad series I have watched in a while. It's so busy, they have tried too hard to make a story happen about every character and all of it is horribly boring. The lady playing Danielle is such a bad actress, that alone is really off-putting! I already knew this would be nothing like The Haunting of Hill House, but it's surprisingly bad in comparison. The only good actors and likable characters are Hannah and Owen. There is not one single scary scene. Pretty predictable. Just awful.
Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father (2017)
Started off great!
First season and even parts of the second series is very funny. Then... unfortunately, it became more forced. I haven't bothered finishing the fourth series because it is more obviously scripted and trying too hard.
Last Christmas (2019)
I really enjoyed it!
OK, so - there are some stuff in it that is obviously a bit silly (the twist, sorry but that was not for me), but this is quite a heartwarming and charming film, which I did not expect when seeing the trailer. For a romantic christmas film it did deliver on both and even though I watched it in September, I thouroughly enjoyed it.
After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News (2020)
In a world of conspiracy theories...
This is such an Important documentary in a world where more and more people are willing to believe just about anything (QAnon, Pizzagate, 4chan, satanists in Hollywood eating and raping babies)
I can imagine that this will rile up a lot of people who are not into critical thinking and facts.
Say I Do (2020)
Heartwarming and beautiful
I ugly-cried to each and every episode of this. I adore all of the lovely boys who help deserving couples get their dream wedding. These days this show gave me back some hope for humanity!
Washington Square (1997)
I really love this film
I watched this many years ago and loved it. Watched it again today and feel very nostalgic about it. I think I would not be a big of a fan today if it wasn't for the fact this is familiar and beautiful to me. I would give it a 9, but it's slightly longer than I think it needs to be so I will give it an 8. I do not understand the negative reviews of Jennifer Jason Leighs performance, because she plays a shy, insecure young lady very well.
Pure (2019)
Amazing!
I love this show! It's funny, honest, warm and all the characters are likable albeit flawed (aka humane)
So sad to read there won't be another season!
Feel Good (2020)
I like the idea of this show
I really like Charlotte Ritchie and was looking forward to watching this after seeing an ad for it a couple of weeks ago. I really, really wanted to like it because it does bring up real life issues in an honest way, but unfortunately the jokes fall really flat and feel embarrassing most of the time.
Miss You Already (2015)
Beautiful film
Toni Collette is absolutely wonderful and the story is quite good. I cried my way through it, both the ups and the downs.
Marriage Story (2019)
Wow!
This film is quite long and very detailed, which can become a bit boring but the acting in this film is so amazing that I would give it a 10 star rating just because of that! I found myself understanding both the parents and really disliking them both at different points. Heartbreaking at times, aggravating behaviour from both. But so, so believable and gripping!
Miss Americana (2020)
Great documentary
When I read some of the negative reviews here, it's obvious that they came from salty republicans who are triggered. (Go cry somewhere else, ha)
This documentary is showing an open and honest Taylor Swift, who is not scared to let the public see different sides to her success and her personal life. She comes across as a very sharp and sweet woman who despite her massive success at a very young age still is down to earth and very humane in her wish to stay on "the right side of history". I have always liked her and this documentary made me definitely respect her even more!
Deadwater Fell (2020)
Love David Tennant, but...
This was a bit of a let down. The story was too all over the place and the ending just didn't do anything for me. I would actually say it all was quite boring and never really came to any peak.
