Hey, my name is Michael, I was born on July 10, 1984 and I have been a big movie fan all my life!
WHAT MAKES A MOVIE GREAT?: Every scene needs to be looked at in two different ways. One way is what the scene is about and the other way is how the scene is filmed. I think a great movie is when the story keeps moving along and the film making doesn't look aged.
WHAT MAKES A MOVIE MY FAVORITE: When I feel it's perfect on all levels of filmmaking.
REASONS WHY IT MATTERS WHAT YOU SEE:
1. Nobody knew what a movie was when they first saw a movie and they enjoyed it because it was filled with images they've never seen before. Then over the years, they lost the memories and didn't gain much knowledge since they started judging movies over what year it came out or what the genre is and all of the above have good movies and bad movies. So keep the memories from when you first saw a movie and gain the knowledge at the same time. That way it's a win-win situation.
2. You will never get your time back no matter what movie you see.
3. There's thousands of movies made and you won't see every one.
4. The winning team, in terms of movies, are not the majority. It's the one that paid the most attention.
I watch movies from nearly every genre: Action, Adventure, Animation, Biography, Comedy, Crime, Documentary, Drama, Family, Fantasy, Film-Noir, Foreign Films, Gangster, Horror, Martial Arts, Musical, Natural Disaster, Romance, Samurai, Science Fiction, Silent Movies, Sports, Spy Movies, Superhero movies, Suspense, War, Western
I ENJOYED EVERY MOVIE FROM THE FOLLOWING SERIES':
All three BATMAN/DARK KNIGHT's
All three GODFATHER's
All four LETHAL WEAPON's
All three LORD OF THE RINGS
All six MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE's
All five RAMBO's
All three THREE COLORS TRILOGY
All four TOY STORY's

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
Almost non-stop violence.
Kevin Costner stars as the man in Sherwood once again in this millionth Robin Hood movie out to date. Which like every single Robin Hood movie, Robin tries to steal money from Prince John, the man who had stolen money from the poor while Robin also meets Little John and other people such as Dunkin as well. Although, this is an interesting movie and an interesting role of the now daring than before Robin Hood. Another thing I must say that really shouldn't be in the film is sort of scary and sort of interesting in various ways is that they show a witch. Not a movie that young kids should be seeing.
Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time (1991)
This sequel to the boring first Beastmaster film is really not that bad.
This time, it gets more interesting, but in some scenes too violent or out of control. Once again, now grown up Dar still has his pets and has to kill his brother after trying to discover what the real world looks like. Dar also discovers a new friend who lives in the city of Los Angeles where Dar's brother entered. It's not that bad until Dar's brother tries to destroy the world. In the beginning of the movie, some kids who are allowed to see this might be interested seeing a scene where the crow who was in the first movie nibbles some of the villian's face. They just don't show blood to prove it.
Ernest Goes to School (1994)
Even as worse as Ernest Goes to Camp.
Ernest P. Worrell in his sixth movie which is the worst is now about the non-dimwitted Ernest P. Worrell who has to go to school to graduate and since he's changed and made the character completely off beat than before, he gets transformed into this smart Ernest character instead of his everyday character. Since this movie is a straight to video, I can understand why no critic would want to review this dumb Ernest film. As a matter of fact, the only thing that's funny throughout the film is the very beginning which carries the credits. I even thought this may be a good movie to make people laugh.
Cops and Robbersons (1994)
Funny in some ways.
Chevy Chase returns as a household family dad who wishes to be a cop and the next morning after returning a video, he meets two cops. One of the cops is played by Jack Palance. Meanwhile, Norman Robberson (Chevy Chase) gets warned from Palance that a serial killer is right next door to his house. The movie is directed by Michael Ritchie who directed Bad News Bears and both of the Fletch movies. Michael Ritchie made a problem to this later on, in the middle of the film. He makes this kind of dumb. A lot of critics said that this film is not funny. Well, all I can say to them is that you could at least laugh once.
Maverick (1994)
Funnier whenever he adds a punchline to it.
Maverick is based on a T. V. show like other movies. As you laugh, you would think this is a National Lampoon ranch thing. Like putting on a wild ranch show full of laughter throughout the film. It's about Brett Maverick (Mel Gibson) who needs money for a poker game. Although, he wastes some of his time with laughter and problems as well. If you haven't noticed in the T. V. series, Brett Maverick was played by James Garner, but in the movie I think that Mel Gibson is better and funnier. On his funny adventure, he bumbles around and gets out of hand. He doesn't know what to do and ends up making it.
Philadelphia (1993)
Philadelphia is a very interesting film.
This is about Tom Hanks who has aids and he has to go to court from the problems that he has. Meanwhile, Denzel Washington, who plays Hanks' lawyer, helps him out by saying stuff such as you can still be a good person no matter if you have aids or not. This is a movie that you can see with the family and the drama won't bore you. It would interest you. Philadelphia has gotten two Academy Awards. One from Best Actor Tom Hanks, who was very interesting in his role and Best Music for the song called Philadelphia. That in my book shouldn't really get an Academy Award. It should have also gotten it for Best Makeup.
Harry and the Hendersons (1987)
Might be a little scary for kids at first.
This fun family movie is about a family named the Hendersons. As they are on their way home from their vacation, they accidentally bump into or should I say run over a Bigfoot monster. As they run over it by accident again, the husband decides to bring it home to their house. At first, Harry is pretty mean until later on in the funny movie, Harry sees stuff that he never saw before and accidentally drops it. After a lot of people figured all about the giant Bigfoot, he runs away from home. As he comes back, he gets too big and puts a hole or dent in a lot of stuff and even in the Hendersons car.
Groundhog Day (1993)
A must see for Bill Murray fans.
Bill Murray stars in this comedy that has dramatic parts, too. Bill Murray plays a weather man named Phil Connors. Phil and his new crew go once again to the city of Punxsutawney, a beautiful city where ever since it is Groundhog Day, everyday keeps on reappearing continuously. The reason why is because Phil Conners, who has strange reactions, keeps on getting grumpy. It looks like he has a curse, although, I don't know why. Not only that, he's the only one in the city of Punxsutawney that thinks yesterday happened on the same day and nobody realizes it. I think Groundhog Day is a funny movie.
Honeymoon in Vegas (1992)
I really laugh.
Nicholas Cage, Sarah Jessica Parker and James Caan star in this pretty funny, out of control movie that has good laughs in the script and doesn't stop until the film's over. It's about Nicholas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker getting married in Las Vegas until a gambler (James Caan) makes Nicholas Cage play a game of poker. The funny thing is that Cage is broke and suddenly, James Caan and Sarah Jessica Parker agree to have a vacation in Hawaii. What really cracked me up in this is that no matter what happens when Cage tries to find Parker, he always gets bad luck when he does, wherever he goes.
The Babe (1992)
Nice, energetic piece of entertainment.
Even John Goodman's hitting homers is a delight. Like always, the movie is about Babe Ruth's life and all the stuff it can talk about, possible. Goodman plays the baseball player who sometimes deserves what's going to happen, like being a brat in front of the umpires, even in front of the team. Other bad stuff about his life being shown in the movie is showing late to practices and even getting transferred to lots of teams, like the Yankees, White Sox, etc. Though, there's other problems as well; even marriage. Could it be his drinking? Or could it be something that he has on his mind? You'll never know until you pick up The Babe.
The Little Rascals (1994)
Family entertainment.
Now, for the first time, comes the Little Rascals first appearance on the screen. Having dozens, dozens and dozens of Special Appearances from Joe Dante to Mel Brooks to Lea Thompson to Whoopi Goldberg to Holly Hunter and more. Now, your mischief clan is at it again, getting into trouble and all. It is like they are the next Dennis the Menace. The movie is fun, though, it appears that around the ending part of the movie, it is then wasteful. Showing parts like stunts flying around purposely. Along with forceful special appearances that are quick and wasteful when they are shown at the very end.
Cool Runnings (1993)
John Candy, I wish you the best!
John Candy's final movie released before his death, which I'm sad to hear it is his final movie, called Cool Runnings is about two teenagers who were best friends for a long time. Suddenly, they want to join a bobsled race competition. As they meet their coach (John Candy), they realize that they have a long way to go before being in the great race. Meanwhile, with John Candy's character teaching his students teamwork and self control, they enter the championship bobsled race and have a long, fun celebration. I'm sure this will be a good movie for the family to see and especially John Candy fans.
Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993)
The sequel to Hot Shots! is pretty funny like before.
This time, Topper Harley isn't a pilot anymore. He's now acting as if he's Rambo, one of the spoofs shown in the film. Topper Harley now has a job to bring the hostages out of Iraq before it's too late and if it is too late then Saddam Houssain (which is another funny spoof shown in the film) might shoot them. Hot Shots! Part Deux has more spoofs than it can handle than how much was shown in Hot Shots! The hilarious spoofs were a spoof of Wizard of Oz, Energizer Bunny, Robin Hood, Lady and the Tamp, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, a figure of Saddam Houssain, Rambo, American Gladiators and voices of different animals. Pretty funny, don't you think?
Joe Versus the Volcano (1990)
The movie is silly, weird and sometimes dumb.
Clever, imaginitive, but mostly stupid fiction tale. Talks about a lowlife man by the name of Joe Banks (Tom Hanks), who appears to have a lousy life. After all those years, he agrees to go on a vacation since he only has three full months of life to live. That's because he, oddly, intends to purposely jump into the volcano for good. The movie contains a few chuckles and some smiles along the way, though. It is mostly silly, strange and weird to see. The funniest part of the movie: Seeing actress Meg Ryan playing three totally different characters. Some scenes are amusing, though, as mentioned.
The Hunt for Red October (1990)
Thrilling, on task movie.
CIA agent Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin) spies on a boat named Red October. He does this so he could investigate it and tries to get enough information as possible. He does all this spying because he doesn't know if the Red October will fight against the United States (nor does the captain of the ship played by Sean Connery). Connery's good in the role as a nuclear submarine captain. The movie is a little boring, not fully. It is also just a little bit overlong. Still, that's not a biggy. The Hunt For Red October did win an Academy Award for Best Sound Effects Editing. Based on the #1 bestselling book written by Tom Clancy.
Clear and Present Danger (1994)
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan book hits the big screen just like his other novels.
Hunt For Red October had Alec Baldwin instead of Harrison Ford and two years later, Patriot Games came, which did have Harrison Ford. Now, this interesting title, Clear and Present Danger has an interesting story to it. It's an action movie that is about the President of the United States, who has now heard that there is drugs in Colombia. Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) is assigned by the judge not to have any troops involved, although, the President didn't know and Jack has to save the problems going on. I thought that this is a very thrilling film to watch, but not every scene has great parts to it.
The Client (1994)
The third John Grisham book that hits the big screen.
Better than the other Grisham movie I've seen called The Pelican Brief. In fact, The Client is the first good John Grisham film I've seen and might be interesting for Tommy Lee Jones fans or Susan Surandon fans. It's about a kid named Mark (Brad Renfro) who just witnessed a man trying to kill himself in his car. Mark meets a woman (Susan Surandon) who is a lawyer. She tries to help Mark tell the truth that he really was in the car. Later on in the film, an attorney (Tommy Lee Jones) tries to investigate the case, the scene of the crime and the murderers evidence to tell if the boy is lying or not. This movie shows more of Brad Renfro and Susan Sarandon than Tommy Lee Jones.
Apollo 13 (1995)
One big recommendation!
An Apollo 13 space shuttle is destined to orbit the moon. Though, there appears to be a burn in the shuttle. All four astronauts (Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon and Gary Sinise) try to wonder what was going on and save their shuttle. Their space shuttle then leaves space because of what was happening. Swell movie, having director Ron Howard (The Paper, Parenthood) make lots of unique ideas here and there with superb creations and thoughts for a movie that takes place in the 1970s. Based on a true story. It was also based on a book called Lost Moon by Jim Lovell. Originally titled: Lost Moon.
Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff (1949)
Somewhat funny Abbott and Costello comedy.
With very, very few slow spots containing, Lou plays fired bellboy, Freddie Phillips. Apparently, he has been framed. Casey (Bud Abbott) is a hotel detective trying to claim that his friend Freddy is innocent by not accusing him of the murders of the dead people surrounding the hotel. Meanwhile, an Indian Swami-like character (Boris Karloff) tries to have Freddie commit suicide. He plans for Freddie dozens of certain obstacles, such as: Jumping out of the window, stabbing yourself with a knife, trying to strangle yourself with a rope, etc. Though, Lou is too stupid to do any of those obstacles.
Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
Very funny movie.
Like the Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy, this is another one of those paired up buddies. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein tells the story of Abbott and Costello who are movers who move people into houses. They move a man into a haunted type house where Costello and soon Abbott meet the monster. This movie also has other monsters such as Dracula (Bela Lugosi), a very short scene at the end of the movie for the Invisible Man (Vincent Price) and the man that moves into the house turns into the Wolfman. Another thing about the movie is that Dracula wants to replace Costello's brain in the monster's.
The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988)
A funny spoof.
The Zucker Brothers and Jim Abrahams, the people who have created the funny Airplane comedy, now creates The Naked Gun. Lieutenant Frank Drebin from Police Squad always bumbles around kind of like Inspector Clouseau. He has a case about Queen Elizabeth at the baseball game, who is going to get killed unknowingly. Frank is also worried about what happened to his best friend Nordberg (O. J. Simpson), a man that always has an accident everyday. Another thing is that Frank met a girl named Jane Spencer (Priscilla Presley), who doesn't realize that she is working with a bad guy. This is extremely funny.
Rain Man (1988)
Great dramatic movie
Dustin Hoffman plays a man that has problems and the only person who could help him is his brother (Tom Cruise). Together, they're trying to have a relationship between one another. Dustin Hoffman is fantastic as Rain Man, the man who has problems. What I really liked about this movie is that it's a movie about true friendship and trust. The movie also has some comic scenes you can laugh at. It's also interesting Tom Cruise would team up with actor Dustin Hoffman. The movie also won awards for: Best Picture, Best Director: Barry Levinson and Best Screenplay, too. This film may not be for kids, but it's still a movie a lot of people should see.
Surf Ninjas (1993)
Nonstop crummy every minute you watch it.
Three brothers somehow hear that they're Gods of some sort. Meanwhile, they battle a captain and his gang of misfits. The bad guy is surprisingly played by Leslie Nielsen, which I think to myself, why would a big star be in this film. Anyway, the cool brothers try to kill Neilsen and his gang as well. Good actors in disappointing roles such as Saturday Night Live's Rob Schneider. He is pretty funny on Saturday Night Live, now I wonder how he could act as one of the dumb brothers. Schneider was also in better movies that I've seen. Also, guess how disappointed a lot of people will feel when they see Leslie Nielsen.
The Shadow (1994)
Based on the 40s radio show of the Shadow.
Alec Baldwin meets a master that teaches him that he shouldn't be a bad guy. To make up from that, he and the master challenge a duel and as they do, later on in the movie, he becomes The Shadow. After all those years, he returns to New York City to continue the duel against his master. What I like about the film is that it has great cinematography. I really think the special effects are also great as well as what the movie's about. If you're ready for action, no more Batman or Superman, come and remember this sort of blockbuster film of the radio show and remember: The Shadow knows Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Lost in Yonkers (1993)
This is a good dramatic comedy that is based on a play.
When two kids have to live with their aunt, uncle and grandma for a while, they get used to it the best way they can. Richard Dreyfuss, who plays their uncle is pretty good when his character acts like some big shot in the film. Other than that, he wants everything to be perfect and to teach the boys stuff that he shouldn't teach. Mercedes Ruel plays the boys aunt who teaches what life these days are all about. The boys try to depend on their aunt more than on their uncle. She also couldn't handle her mom and is scared of her because she acts kind of mean. Even if you haven't seen the play, see this.
