blends sharp satire with unforgettable characters and a pulsating soundtrack
18 May 2024
PCU is a delightful, high-energy comedy that brilliantly captures the chaotic and irreverent spirit of college life. The film's sharp wit and satirical edge offer a hilarious commentary on campus politics and social dynamics, making it a timeless piece for anyone who's ever experienced the whirlwind of university life.

Jeremy Piven's performance as Droz is a standout, infusing the character with a perfect blend of charisma and mischief. The ensemble cast, including a young Jon Favreau, adds depth and diversity to the comedic antics, ensuring that every scene is filled with humor and unpredictability.

PCU excels not only in its comedic delivery but also in its ability to satirize the often absurd extremes of political correctness and activism found on college campuses. It walks the fine line between humor and critique, making poignant observations while keeping the audience thoroughly entertained.

Overall, PCU is a must-watch for fans of college comedies and anyone looking for a film that combines smart humor with a fun, rebellious spirit. It remains a cult classic, beloved for its sharp dialogue, memorable characters, and unrelenting humor.

The Love Guru (2008)
10/10
A film that promises to deliver laughter and remind us of the joy in pure, unfiltered comedy
18 May 2024
The Love Guru, starring Mike Myers, is an underrated gem that often gets unfairly overshadowed by its initial negative reception. While the film didn't receive the warmest welcome upon its release in 2008, it is undeniably a hilarious and unique comedy that deserves a second look, especially for fans of Myers' iconic Austin Powers series.

Mike Myers shines in his role as Guru Pitka, bringing his trademark wit, charm, and over-the-top comedic style to the character. The movie's humor is delightfully absurd, much like the Austin Powers films, with a blend of slapstick, clever wordplay, and irreverent satire. The supporting cast, including Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake, and Romany Malco, adds to the film's comedic strength with their enthusiastic and often hilarious performances. One of the movie's greatest strengths is its fearless approach to humor. It doesn't shy away from pushing boundaries and playing with outrageous scenarios, making it a riotous experience from start to finish. The visual gags, pun-filled dialogue, and eccentric characters create a comedic tapestry that keeps the laughs coming. While "The Love Guru" may have been dismissed by critics at the time, it's a movie that can surprise and entertain those willing to give it a chance. Much like the Austin Powers movies, it has the potential to become a cult classic, appreciated for its bold humor and the comedic genius of Mike Myers. If you enjoy irreverent comedies that don't take themselves too seriously, "The Love Guru" is definitely worth a watch.

Netflix, stop censoring history
29 December 2023
World War 2 From the Front Lines is visually stunning. The firsthand footage from all sides involved in WW2 offers vivid footage.

Greece did not surrender easily to Italy during World War II. In fact, during the Greco-Italian War that began in October 1940, the Greek forces successfully repelled the initial Italian invasion. The Greeks pushed the Italians back into Albania and gained a tactical advantage. This resistance surprised many, as Italy had a larger and better-equipped military. The Greek resistance delayed the Axis powers and forced Germany to intervene in the Balkans to support its Italian ally.

The editing choices compromised the integrity of the narrative, leaving viewers with an incomplete and distorted portrayal of World War II.

"Sail on, O Union, strong and great! Humanity with all its fears, With all the hopes of future years, Is hanging breathless on thy fate!" - Winston Churchill.

Thought this was like Alone but in teams
31 October 2023
Allowing contestants to harm and steal from each other in a TV show is a recipe for disaster. While reality TV thrives on drama and competition, there's a fine line between entertainment and ethical concerns. When a show encourages such behavior, it not only tarnishes the reputation of the genre but also raises questions about the responsibility of the creators. Viewers may be drawn in by the promise of chaos, but they can quickly become disheartened when they witness harm and theft becoming normalized. It's essential for creators to strike a balance between drama and maintaining a sense of decency to keep their audience engaged and avoid crossing into questionable territory.

How many banshees are in Inisherin?
8 May 2023
The acting is excellent even right down to the last pub goer. For a movie about nothing it sure does a good job of keeping the viewer engaged. The scenery is spectacular. It took me a while to figure what year the movie was set in but if you watch it then you will be able to pinpoint the years. Grab some snacks and drinks while you go on an Irish rollercoaster of astonishments and humour. This movie is probably the best movie from 2022. There may not be a sequel so when the time comes you can just rewatch the Banshees and have another laugh. Put down whatever you're doing and watch this movie.

Warning: Spoilers
The first 30 min is enjoyable as you start getting a sense of fear. Once you see what that scary creature actually looks like, you quickly learn that this it's just a Halloween TV special for teenagers. This movie is medicore at best and I assure you that after you watch this film, you will never want to watch it again. It's almost like those creatures from The Hills Have Eyes migrated to Detroit and settled in a low income area. This movie, quickly turns into a joke and you start wondering who the producers paid off to have this movie receive such positive reviews when in fact this movie is a mashup of all the bad 90's horror films.

All fun and lots of games

This show is like the gritty, unfiltered version of Pawn Stars and it's amazing. I quickly noticed on Hardcore Pawn how these guys don't call in the experts, they are the experts. They'll tell you right to your face if your item is valuable or not. It makes great television because every item that's brought into the store quickly gets appraised. You get a sense of how hard these guys work and that everything IS about money. You will quickly get hooked on Hardcore Pawn and just breeze through all the seasons. This show feels authentic and it's definitely fun watching all the collectibles that make their way through the shop.

It's a competition, stop being nice.
4 May 2023
What a beautiful example of how to butcher a t.v show. I tuned in one day and the first thing I noticed was how the camera would keep cutting from the performers to the judges. I don't care to watch the judges watch the performers as I want to see the performance myself. Y The camera constantly cuts to the judges every 5 seconds almost causing me to swallow my own tongue. If the performer is on stage and performing, leave the camera on the performance, nobody wants to see Howie pick his nose and readjust his seat.

And what is the grand prize? $150,000 Canadian. That's like the average salary in Vancouver. This may be the only time where staying at your dead end job may pay more than winning Canada's talent show.

Starts off interesting
15 April 2023
Starts out a solid 8/10 and takes over an hour to build character plot. Once we do figure out what's happening you're no longer interested in the movie. For a 2 hour movie it sure made me feel like leaving early. I was not amused and would consider the filming technique similar to all the 80's alien movies. This movie made me lose my balance of interest. If you can spare 2 hours of your life to watch this movie then give it a try as I have better things to do like watch actual, entertaining movies. I suppose we all have our expectations of alien movies. This is one film that you can watch while at the dentist becuase it will definitely bore you.

6 April 2023
I was looking forward to seeing Mario again on the big screen but this movie can't seem to find the direction it wants to go in. Save your money and send it to the makers of this film because they're going to need it after this. Seems like that movie lacks cohesiveness as they tend to throw everything at you in hopes of having something stick on. Take your kids or your friends out for a meal instead of this mess. Mario will alwaya be a great game even if Hollywood manages to butcher the movie. We can't all be winners but in this case they only winners are the people that don't watch Mario in theaters.

A well made horror
18 November 2022
After seeing the trailer I thought this concept was new and gave the movie a try in theatres. Smile was almost perfect. I still think it's the best horror movie ever made. You can decide for yourself what you thought would have worked better but in the end, this was a perfectly entertaining and refreshing take on horror. This 2 hour movie will leave you glued to the screen and I'm sure you will enjoy it. There's no need for a 2nd movie as everything was wrapped up. I hope this movie becomes appreciated because everyone that worked on making this movie was outstanding. I will surely rewatch this movie again.
