A common film based upon a real story
8 April 2009
There are too many World War II films in the cinema history. But it should be differed from the others by the story. Because, most of them are shaped around war tactics, strategies and struggle scenes with blood and gun. Any other facts from this direction are common for me. Directory, Directory of photography, music etc. don't become felt strongly. Characters excluding Tom Cruise don't shine as deserving to Cast's powerful elements. Such an interesting story would be reflected to cinematography according to me. I think, the director and the writer didn't show an amazing effort and they had a simple way to create a film. One important reason to watch it, may be how great organizations contain such great ambitions, fights for the sake of leadership or willing to have decision mechanism.

An extraordinary story about an ordinary man
25 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Umberto Domenico Ferrari. Shortly Umberto D. How can a man put up with loneliness? How can a man live in a pension without tasting the heat of family? The story of this man answers these questions with most emotional scenes. A little sweet dog Flike accompanies him in this story.

Think a man: He goes to a hospital for living there because of poor conditions or he makes his dog beg because he feels ashamed. The begging scene of dog already deserves to take place in film history and I never forget this moment.

After all of that I don't say "this is wonderful" but it is perfect from the point of reflection of a lonely man's spirit.

An ordinary film about nothing
25 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Before I watched the film, I think it had made a splash in its' time because of the staff and the name. But I must frankly say that the film is terrible. I haven't read the book of Hemingway, but I think there is a motto for this condition: A good book doesn't mean a good film.

I have never watched a Humphrey Bogart film, but this handsome man didn't fit in with this role. As an early example of film-noir, this one could be a good example but there isn't reasonable scene that could register itself into cinema history.

The film goes around an American captain's adventures in France. Some men seize his money and he accept the proposal of men who are searched by the agents. The captain carries the searched men for some money.

I don't suggest but you know.

A strange story about construction of a bridge for Japanese army by prisoners
25 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
River Kwai:The whole facts go around this river during the film. British soldiers are taken prisoner by Japanese army and they are wanted to build a bridge on River Kwai. This order includes officers but Colonel Nicholson object this order because of international war rules those say officers can't work like soldiers. Obstinacy of Colonel Saito and Colonel Nicholson finishes with victory of Nicholson. Meanwhile, Major Shears who was previously taken prisoner in Saito's camp, he escapes from this camp but he finds himself willy-nilly in the place where he escapes. Mission is clear: To guide the team and helping to ruin the bridge by laying mines.

The film has too many inqusitions: One of them is the pride of commanders, other is whether building of the bridge perfectly by Nicholson is a kind of collaboration or not, other is Nicholson's answer to doctor for this question(wouldn't you operate Saito if necessary?), other is Major Shears' efforts for escape and return to the camp.

A story about a key related to a murder
25 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Among the Hitchcock films, North by Northwest and Dial M for Murder is similar by more resembling a puzzle. Lots of moments pass examining the details of the murder in this film. Most of us are used to see Hitchcock in a scene of his films but there is an unusual scene in which Hitchcock appears in a photograph that contains graduation ball of the students.

According to the story, Tony is married to a famous writer who is Margot but he thinks she cheats him with another writer Mark who come for her from America regularly so Mark is right about his doubts. Because of all these matters he makes a plan upon murdering Margot by a man. This man is previously convicted and followed by Tony.

Tony explains the plan to the man who should come into the house about at 11:00 PM and he is wanted to wait Mark's telephone from party to Margot. "Dial M" is the sign of this murder trial in which M letter appears in the phone while Tony calls her. As an important part of plan, Mark say the place of the key which is placed under the carpet of the stairs against flat door. But the plan doesn't work and Margot kills his future murderer with a scissors stroke. The key that isn't found in the pocket of the man make the inspectors get confused because how he open the door is a big mystery due to absence of any stroke of windows or door. At that point two possibilities appear. Tony hires an assassin or Margot lays a trap for the man whom she believes the blackmails is made by him. One of the letters that Mark wrote to her was previously captured by Tony but nor Margot neither Mark knows this one was captured by Tony. Tony uses this from one year before to the appearance of the reality.

Hitchcock manages the film very well as usual but there are some important messages that it gave. For example; the conversation between Mark and Tony upon murders that Mark says them as "No murder is perfect practically" and the another is Mark's proposal to Tony is saving her execution saying a scenario that is based upon hiring assassin of Tony and another is contradictions of Marks such that no one could believe anything Mark because of his fame about writings upon crimes.

How could a small key change the flow of whole film? I think this question can be answered only in a Hitchcock film.

The Sting (1973)

Contains a lot of "Carlito's Way" trick methods
7 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
If there was a chance to back to the past, an alternative name would be Gondorff's Way. In some definite movies, couples complete the role of each other perfectly. This is also one great example of them. On the other hand, this doesn't mean famous couples have to create a good energy in enormous projects. For example, I haven't admired the combination of Paul Newman and Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid.

First of all, In my opinion George Roy Hill made history with this film. The technics, directing methods, effects shortly all details for a director made him deserve all praises and let us watch a wonderful movie. I should admit that I am regretful for postponing to watch this film a considerable time.

Newman as Gondorff, Redford as Hooker and Robert Shaw as Doyle Lonnegan are respectable in their roles and present an amazing watching enjoyment fluently during the film.

Hooker's incredible advance from a simple vagrancy to an first-class trickings, Gandorff's tactics upon cheats for gamble and fake organizations upon deceiving Lonnegan and of course Lonnegan's self-confidence are all admirable. I couldn't find a point that may be criticized but as usual Paul Newman dominates Robert Redford even if the due to needed role. But, if necessary to be honest, Redford shows one of the best-second man role in the film.

When I saw Carlito's Way, I was very happy to see it, but this film contains a lot of "Carlito's Way". Furthermore, some predictable twist and turns reminded me Hitchcock's North by Northwest.

Ask for The Sting? When we watch the Academy Awards, there aren't too many respectable films. Shortly, IMDb 250 list has proved itself and The Sting made an impression on me. I absolutely suggest the people who are curious about it.

Modern Times (1936)

Similar to Lang's Metropolis
11 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't look the history of Metropolis but Modern Times is very similar to Metropolis. Only one difference is that Modern Times isn't just a musical, there are some speeches.

A cruel boss about working conditions of workers, a poor girl and the other factors. But there are some scenes that make you watch. For example; the machine that feeds workers without giving a break or the song which Chaplin said are unforgettable.

After watching this film, there are no top 250 film that I haven't seen. All these films are product of Chaplin's smart intelligence.

Chaplin deserve all praisal words...

We think too much and feel too little...
11 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
The last sentence which will save me from doing too much comments.

"We think too much and feel too little.

More than machinery we need humanity.

More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness."

Chaplin is as usual and shows his talent in most moments. For example, the country names Tomainia and Bacteria, the dictator names Hynkel and Napaloni are so original. Gestures and mimics make you laugh while thinking the tragedy of war at the same time.

The words which I start to my comment are quotations when he and Officer Schultz are together in Österlich border talking to the crowd. They meet at World War while Officer Schultz running away from enemy. Jewish Barber saves him and they meet by chance when Hynkel govern the Tomainia before the World War II.

Shortly Chaplin ridicules with the tragedic face of the War with bombasts.

I can't cook. I need a rat:D
11 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
A funny rat who devote himself to cooking let you laugh during the whole film. He drives our hero Liguini as if he drive motorbike in Liguini's chief cap. I specially enjoy the final scene in which the rat directs the whole kitchen and whole rats like a conductor.

Of course this is the funniest animation that I have watched in recent times but I don't exaggerate my comments. By the way this isn't a masterpiece and doesn't deserve too many ratings.

But I definitely suggest the film who wants to pass a good weekend.

Lastly, there is a big logical error that is the most delicious meals of the world aren't cooked in France, they are completely cooked and eaten in Turkey.

A rare film explaining the World War I
11 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
There are lots of film which explain the realities of World War II and it's not common for me to read comments of top class films before watching them and so I thought it was a World War II film at the first moments of it. But I enjoyed for this fact because there are rare films about War I.

There are too many scenes like the conversation of two enemies in a hole and the final scene all of which leaves a mark in cinema history. I especially won't forget Corporal Stanislaus Katczinsky who adapt young soldiers for army. According to the story, young men who study in schools are encouraged by their teachers to fight for Germany.

Explaining the spiritual and physical conditions of soldiers, this film is a masterpiece for me. I had watched lots of film, but none of them could make such great effect in my mind. As the introduction paragraph said, "it will try simply to tell of a generation of men who, even though they may have escaped its shells, were destroyed by the war."

The film also says the main themes in it from a soldier to another: "The War don't ask the thoughts of tramps like you". In fact, who the real tramps are, a man easily understand by watching it. In other words, is a man tramp for killing one or some men in the battlefield or is an emperor tramp to give a nonsense decision for killing lots of nations and together with hopes.

One more comment that I admire from a critic: Year:2008 All Quiet On The World Front...

Lynch's most comprehensible film that I have ever seen
11 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
A man who has a terrible defect on his face from birth, John Merrick lives in bad conditions and far from people. A well-known surgeon who is Frederick Treves discovers him and wants to take him under his protection. Just for protection, because there is no possibility to cure and improve shape of his face.

Lynch teaches the subject that people could be mentally ill in comparison with people who are really have an excuse or defective. The behaviours which people show to "The Elephant Man" is proof of this reality.

Hopkins' appearance does remember Edward Norton. As if Norton acted in that role. Hopkins' role in this film touched my feelings and I prevented to cry with great difficulty.

As an interesting point, I watched a Lynch film with contentment.

Finally, the final scene in the theatre is wonderful. The announcement that the famous actress Mrs. Kendal made to Merrick who show her, is a good final for this film.

A little disappointment...
11 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Psycho, Vertigo, North by Northwest and the others. Who can interrogate the quality of these films because of the ability of The Master? But, if I have a chance to criticize one of them as a fan of Hitchcock, it must be a comparison with other Hitchcock films. Otherwise it is a big injustice to Hitchcock. As a summary of this paragraph, whenever I watch a Hitchcock film, I immediately criticize or praise it because of previously watched film or films.

After all, In my opinion, mystery isn't in the most important place as an element. For a watcher, a breathtaking tag continues during the whole film more than mystery. Mystery is common for Alexander Sebastian who controls the German mechanizm of War in Brasil.

To the story, Mr. J. Huberman is sentenced for the crime of betrayal to USA against Germany. His daughter Alicia Huberman is wanted to find the people who are related to his father in Brasil. Agent Devlin is charged for this mission by USA and in this way the story turns to a romance story between Devlin and Huberman.

There aren't too much twist or turns, but there is a similarity with Psycho because of pre-final scene. The blackmail that Devlin did to Sebastian in Sebastian's house while saving poisoned Alicia is a fine light that squirts from Hitchcock's brain.

Please don't misunderstand me. I don't say "I didn't admire it", I only say that it is so smooth in comparison with usual Hitchcock films.

A man who dies for the sake of his principles
11 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, I must say that this film disappointed me because of the tempo. Because the places where the fact take progress are the mirror of classical Kingdom living style and very boring. But this isn't an obstacle to say important points in it.

Thomas More is the hero of the story and I think this name will occupy an unforgettable place like Roger Thornhill, Charles Foster Kane or Alfred Borden in our film memory. As I said in introduction sentence, he died for the sake of his principle. For the people who intend to read a writing that contains spoiler, there is no inconvenience to explain it: If a man believes that his feelings are right, any factor can't prevent him including the orders of king.

Order of the king is related to his new marriage which he think to do.The king wants approval from Thomas More who are too honest as he leave the most important position in the palace.

One more paranthesis for Orson Welles who turn over his position to Thomas More as counsellor Kardinal Wolsey. The second trial for watching him after Citizen Kane is very excellent.

Mimics of Cary Grant is just a reason to watch it
11 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
One of the most indispensable face of Hitchcock films is of course Cary Grant and lots of Hitchcock movies are placed in my cinema archive. I haven't seen Grant in such a funny role neither in Hitchcock films nor other films. Some of people may be right in saying that Grant doesn't fit in with such an interesting role but this condition shows how he is a great actor so as to play every kind of difficult roles.

Arsenic and Old Lace : ... is a documentary about funny and maniac people. According to the story, Mortimer Brewster, who is a famous theatre critic, flirts with a girl contradicting with his history in which girls were bombed by him. So he wants to keep away from press and he settles down in his aunts' house. Aunt Abby, Aunt Martha and uncle Teddy are very pleased to see him near them. But Brewster doesn't know two realities which his aunts are so maniac as to poison lonely people. Teddy supposes himself as president Roosevelt.

In fact his relatives aren't his relatives and his mother was a cook nearby them. More tragedic from all of them is Mortimer's lunatic and murderer brother Johnny. His plastic surgeon changes his face constantly to prevent that police arrests him.

Peter Lorre plays the role of plastic surgeon and I must say that it made the greatest impact after Fritz Lang's "M". Raymond Massey is successful playing in Jonathan Brewster with a great similarity to Boris Karloff who is the horror film's hero of those days. This similarity results from the last operation of surgeon and Jonathan gets annoyed for this after hearing this imitation.

13 funeral in the pantry of the house by aunts and 13 murder committed maniacally by Jonathan. This numeral similarity intersects at an interesting point.

Big mistake not to watch it.Thanks to Frank Capra.

Important for the messages that it gives
27 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I haven't read the novel that it is inspired from, but I think the film isn't as good as the book. Because long interrogation scenes in law court make you get asleep. Most remarkable thing that we can observe is that the film turns around Gregory Peck and two little stars.

A widower lawyer Atticus Finch has got two little children who are Jem and Scout seeming like a boy. Atticus has to do his job in the town and also he takes cares of his little two children. The children are so naughty and disturb their mysterious neighbour Radley. At that point, name of the film appears with the words which spilled from Atticus' mouth. However much a mockingbird doesn't harm to nothing or nobody, there is no objection to shout it because of doing nothing from warbling. But at the end of the film, while Radley saves his children from Bob Ewell's attack because of Ewell's grudge for his defence of Tom Robinson, Radley becomes a mockingbird and Atticus feel a great regret.

Examining the scenes partly, a man's payment to Atticus with crops because of his misery and children's efforts for defense their father who guard for his client Tom Robinson are so amazing.

One criticize for the Robert Mulligan is the length of lawcourt scene and of course it deserves to be in 250's by the message that it gives.

The best film that I have ever seen including thoses to Hitchcock films
27 December 2007
I have completed almost % 60 of IMDb's top 250 list and it may be big talk but as I said above this is the best film that I have ever seen. I read lots of comments related to it, but almost nobody emphasizes the conversations that psychiatrist made. This is why I praise as it is in title. Most people say that the scenes like that bathtub hole or murderer with knife make it enormous. I agree with the people who think like that but in fact there is a more important scene that you watch breathless. These scenes are that the psychiatrist made inferences from Norman Bates' view and words. I will never forget these scenes.

According to the story, Marion Crane works in an estate agent and she is wanted to deposit 40.000 $. Crane doesn't return to the agent. Everybody believe that Crane runs away with his friend Sam Loomis but the truth isn't like that. Crane starts to stay in Bates Hotel that takes part in the way that goes to his friend's town. Afher even her sister lost the connection with her, a detective starts to search for her but he disappears like her, too.

A man who has two personality that he switch one of them spontaneously. This man is Norman Bates that makes history in cinema by Hitchcock. If your list lacks this masterpiece like me, complete it the shortest time as you can.

Quite impressive tension scenes and of course together with sounds, inferences made by the psychiatrist, scenes that make you ask Bates' mother all these are unforgettable about Psycho.

My admiration to Hitchcock increases step by step. Thanks a lot for all of them.

As real as life, as fascinating as fairy tale
12 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Describing the World War II's Spain condition, El Laberinto del Fauno is a great story for adults, a reality for children. I have never watched a Guillermo Del Toro film and it was the first trial. I have newly learned that he is a Mexican, but if I didn't know that information there would be no doubt for that he is a Spanish. Only one point that I can criticize is that praise of illegal organization's struggle against a legal state. I don't want to talk about it too much because I don't have too much information of Civil War in Spain.

According to the story cruel Capitan vidal gets married to a woman whose husband priorly sews for also Capitan's uniforms. After her husband had died, she has got married to him and while reaching the last stage of pregnancy, he calls for her with her daughter Ofelia. Ofelia lives in dreamworld and now she finds a labyrinth in their new accommodation. Living in this labyrinth, the life continues with the whole cruelty. Capitan Vidal's assistant Mercedes and Dr. Ferreiro help people who fight against Vidal's union. After Vidal learnt this reality, he wants to torture Mercedes like the other people etc.

Synchronization of Ofelia's dreamworld and real life is very impressive. If you ask me a scene that I could never forget is the Mercedes's attack to Vidal's mouth. I have never thought a person's mouth in such a bad condition.

Don't wait a simple fairy tale story for this film. Too much violence that we used to see in Tarantino's actions and fareast films wait for you. Of course the most important point is that intersection of a little girl's dreamworld and painful truths of life.

No comparison with The Prestige
10 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
After I had watched "The Prestige" in recent times, finally I had a chance to watch The "Illusionist". But I am now disappointed after seeing it because of recommendations of my friends. At that point, Christopher Nolan's difference appears. I think most of you, who watch The Illusionist after The Prestige, share the same feelings with me because there is no creativity, or kind of tricks or any other things which could put it into the top list. A simple story starts and continues during the whole film.

According to story, Illusionist Eisenheim falls in love with Duchess of Teschen in the childhood. After that they have to leave each other and after years they come together by chance in his theatre. Their plan based upon deceiving the inspector and public appears at the end of the film. To this plan, everyone is believed that Duchess is killed by the prince and Eisenheim calls the spirit of Duchess in his shows. Revenge of The Illusionist is very deep but he has to do that if he wants to regain her.

Anyway, I can't find remarkable scenes to comment on them. It's not fluent and playing performance aren't so good.

A story about a shy man
10 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
A man whose house is used as bachelor's flat by his managers in insurance company, falls in love with elevator operator Ms. Kubelik in same company. This man is C.C.Baxter who is an employee and can't resist threats of his managers. His popularity is heart by a high level manager Mr. Sheldrake and Mr. Sheldrake wants the key of his apartment as other managers did. As different from others, this one is directly related to Baxter's life because of Mrs.Kubelik, but he doesn't know anything about this fact. He learns the reality in a office party after he had been promotioned and lastly he finds Kubelik unconscious in his house. Kubelik had committed suicide with sleeping tablets before he got arrived home and after this point Sheldrake gives a promotion to him for the things that he did to Kubelik and wants for the key one more. Baxter is ready to lose salary, career and all other things not to do this.

Jack Lemmon and Shirley Maclaine did a good job in "The Apartment". A simple story belonging to real life could be just amazing and I had a good time while watching. Of course, it is necessary not to forget Baxter's work friends and neighbours' performance, especially Dr. Dreyfuss. The director Billy Wilder reflects his feelings related to routine facts which could be in life of most of us. The time of film can be supposed as long, but I never got bored.

I haven't watched such an interesting subjected film that had been screened in 60's. Thanks to people who contributed efforts.

Most fascinating musical figures that I have ever seen, and dialogs as spices
10 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I have heart lots of eulogies about this film till now, but I could just find DVD. Before I started to watch it, I had had a thought that this was a ordinary musical like other films, but I was completely wrong. Don Lockwood, Lina Lamont, Cosmo Brown and Kathy Selden. All these characters deserve to take place in cinema history. The figures which trio (Don, Cosmo and Kathy) displayed are so amazing and also their transforming ability ordinary sentences to lyrics are also brilliant. For example, when studying diction technics they transform a sentence to a lyric.

Story basically takes progress around the four characters that I said above. Don and Lina are known as darlings by public, but Don always says this relationship is just for advertisement. Only his near friend Cosmo know this. One day Don meets with Kathy who also knows dancing in the parties. After that Don's life changes.

You can perceive this story very simple, but it isn't absolutely so.

I store this for my boring times...

Totally boring, good for just last three minutes
10 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
A writer(cinema or any other subjects) who has to live with bad economical conditions is wanted to pay 300 $ that corresponds to last instalment of his car or to give back his car. He never finds the money that he needs and while one day driving in road he sees the men who ask for payment priorly. Running away from those men, tyre of Joe Gillis' tyre goes off and he has to drive in a old large estate where an old film star accommodate. This star is Norma Desmond and she shares the big house with his servant Max who is her first husband. Desmond wants to patronize Gillis and he is wanted to edit Desmond's story. Gillis is obliged to accept this proposal but by the time he follows other jobs and Desmont believes lots of people are still fan of her, but she doesn't know the reality that Max writes those letters to her.

Anyway,Desmont goes to an old director for a new film but she doesn't know that she is called for her old car upon using in a film. Desmont also envies Gillis and she disturbs his partner for a project by calling her.

Till this point, the film is very boring so that I can play Solitaire in a small window at the same time. But the last three minutes are very creative in which Joe invites her friend and partner Betty to face up with reality. He rejects Betty and after that also Norma. Norma shoots him while leaving the house and he falls down to the pool.

Police, journalists and Paramount pictures immediately come to the event place and an artificial film is made in event place as she wanted. Of course all those occur when Norma is in shock.

I apologize for the lots of spoilers that I wrote above but if one day I want to remember the film, it is really necessary because the rest of film is really very boring except for last three minutes.

I don't comment for any technical details or performances of actors or directing. It's understood just watching it.

Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum all are the same
10 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
After the last part of trio had been screened in Turkey, I was disappointed as I supposed. I hasn't commented for others so I try to summarize in last part. It'd be better this trio could be screened in one part. Because all of them have great effects, but and furthermore they don't contain any other amazing scenes. Just the people who chase Jason Bourne are different.

Of course, there are too many things that I can admire. One of them is Bourne's fighting scenes with the agents, one is Bourne's speaking abilities of foreign languages. I don't know they are prepared or spontaneous(sound man's dictations) but the hard languages like arabic, Spanish and the others are pronounced very well by Bourne.

One point that I perceive as nonsense is Bourne's passports which CIA can't prevent Bourne's movement ability.

Anyway, it can't be said Bourne Ultimatum is a good final for totally, but it should be watched while looking at unproductiveness of Hollywood in recent times.

Kill Will, of course if you can
10 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Will Kane is a marshal who has a discipline to prevent the wildest guilties in the town. Even Frank Miller is captured and imprisoned by him. But the court forgives him after some years and Frank Miller makes preparations to turn the town. This isn't an innocent return plan, this plan also includes to kill Will Kane. Meanwhile the town is ready to welcome new marshal and Kane gets married to Amy Fowler. In normal conditions, Kane and his wife would leave the town after the marriage ceremony. After taking the telegraph, Kane thinks the town will stay defenceless until the new marshal arrives tomorrow.

At that point, the director runs the story very well till the train arrives the station and Miller gets off. The story is full of such amazing warnings. For example the dialog between Mart and Will contains lot of warnings. One of them is "If you devote yourself to justice, you will be hungry during the lifetime.

The director occasionally shows the scenes in which Miller's brother and his friends wait for train, consequently for him. In this scenes, the tension rises.

One affecting subject is that nobody believes Kane will defeat Millers' even his wife Amy. So the sentence that Mrs. Ramirez said to Amy summarizes all the thoughts of town inhabitants : "How could you leave him in this case?" Disappointed Kane may have defeated Millers' but no longer he couldn't live with people who believes this fight is between Kane and Miller. So he throws away his tinstar that means nothing for him.

Gary Cooper plays his role properly and of course the director forces the story into such a short time. Just a little critique about the final fighting scene: I think it could be more sophisticated.

This is my second Fritz Lang film that I have ever watched. First one is "M" who made me curious other Lang pictures. Of course, it becomes to overstep the limit to criticize for Lang's these works but I do comment as I can. After I had watched "M" I was shocked because of the screening date. This film also got me shockedone more time. In 1927, how a glorious mind could realize such an amazing film? Firstly, it was a big misfortune to miss some parts of film that corresponds to 25 %. Anyway, this is a big work to unite available parts. All the staff exposed a professional work like they earn million dollars from box-offices. As different from M, this was a silent film but thought most talking in this sector couldn't do this effect.

The story is roughly founded upon differences between people who live and work in a Metropolis, but the film shows, if wanted it could be possible to connect indifferent people from different public forms. To teach this subject, a motto is used during the film : "The heart must be peacemaker between hands and head".

According to the story, a metropolis is controlled a powerful man who is Joh Fredersen. He and his relatives live in wealth because lots of people work in bad conditions. At last, Maria who works to show right ways to workers, enters to Freder's life(Fredersen's son). A crazy man(Rotwang) is wanted to do a copy of Maria to dominate workers by Fredersen. "Rotwang effected Maria" wants people to destroy the machines that work for Metropolis. In this case, Metropolis workers would die. Finally, they destroy the machines and underground is effected by flood and the workers is stuck in it. Freder does all the things to save workers and of course Maria.

Fritz Lang is a real master that his just two pieces effected me so much. I especially admired the harmonious movements of workers while shift changing and walking to the place of boss. As swinging to one left and one right. Furthermore, the messages that Lang gave is also marvellous. Theses are about the conflicts between different classes of society, poor conditions for workers, happenings in a big city and the others.

Lots of thanks to Lang and of course Thea von Harbou...
