New music from Billie Eilish is officially on the way. While her last album, Happier Than Ever, was released in 2021, fans haven’t had too much time to miss her; Eilish remained a staple of the charts and airwaves with her contribution to the Barbie soundtrack, the tender and thoughtful “What Was I Made For?,” which recently earned the Golden Globe for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture and is nominated for an Academy Award.
Now, though, Eilish has confirmed that she’s ready to release music of her own. On February 21st, the singer jumped on Instagram to share one simple sentence: “My album is mastered.”
We’ll be updating this guide as soon as new information becomes available, but here’s what we know about Eilish’s 2024 album so far.

Let’s be honest, we’ve seen the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers go head-to-head at the Super Bowl, but what’s always fresh and new are ads that air during the commercial breaks.
From Michael Cera’s partnership with CeraVe to a “Suits” reunion in Judge Judy’s courtroom, there’s truly nothing you can plan to expect from the lineup of Super Bowl commercials. Well, except for maybe another Ben Affleck-Dunkin’ Donuts collaboration, which is now a fan favorite. And who could blame him, the actor was reportedly paid $10 million for his 30-second spot he’s slated to appear in this year.
When the game isn’t on, the Super Bowl commercials keep you occupied and entertained. While some have already aired, there are many more to come as fans lead up to kickoff off on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Est.

Kangana Ranaut Reacts To Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Praise For Her Work!(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Kangana Ranaut does not mince with her words. She was among the rare Bollywood celebrities who spoke against Ranbir Kapoor led Animal. She accused the creators of stripping off women’s dignity with their violent content. Sandeep Reddy Vanga had recently reacted to her claims, and here’s what the Queen actress has to say about it.
For the unversed, Kangana shared an Instagram story in January allegedly criticizing the content of Animal. She did not take any names but slammed the “latest trends of films” when women are reduced to a flower. She also revealed that she rejected movies with superstars like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ranbir Kapoor while standing against big banners like Dharma Productions and Yrf. And it was all to battle the regressive content around women.

In Entertainment Weekly's 1993 cover story on Moose, the beloved Jack Russell Terrier that played Eddie on "Frasier," the dog was described as "the hottest pooch to be unleashed on the airwaves in years." The story itself was proof of Moose's popularity — what other TV pet was getting an EW cover story? On the show, Eddie belonged to Frasier's dad, Martin (John Mahoney), and was just as beloved by the characters in the series as he was by the audience. The only character that wasn't too fond of Eddie was Dr. Frasier Crane himself.
Moose appeared in 192 episodes of "Fraiser," with his son, Enzo, also standing in as Eddie in the later seasons. As such, he was arguably just as integral a part of the series as any other member of the ensemble cast, and one of the best characters on "Frasier." When we look back on television in 2023, it’s almost certain to stand out as a year of transition.
The cyclical conclusion of what we’ve come to know as Peak TV intersected with an unprecedented, production-halting strike by two key industry guilds wanting proper compensation and protections against whatever is coming next.
None of this meant there was a lack of new programming, mind you, but it led to unusually staggered release windows and more high-profile unscripted and international offerings than ever before. Plus, there was a run of series finales for some of the more acclaimed shows of the past decade, climaxing in that wild week in which Succession, Barry and Ted Lasso all ended.
It’s too soon to necessarily know what TV will look like in 2024 or 2025, but I’m confident the basic answer will be “different,” and not just because so...

Netflix’s Leave the World Behind, starring Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Myha’la Herrold, Mahershala Ali, Kevin Bacon, and others, has been getting appreciated by audiences all over, and it has been produced by former US President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama. But director Sam Esmail reveals the president’s connection was more profound than just being a producer on this Netflix thriller.
The film is based on a novel by Rumaan Alam of the same name. It came out in 2020. Sam Esmail directs the movie about a family’s getaway in a fancy rental house. Things change soon; they face a cyberattack when two strangers knock at their door. The director is known for his work, Mr Robot, which has been widely appreciated and critically acclaimed.

(Welcome to Scariest Scene Ever, a column dedicated to the most pulse-pounding moments in horror with your tour guides, horror experts Chris Evangelista and Matt Donato. In this edition, Matt has a close encounter of "The Fourth Kind.")
With the release of Brian Duffield's "No One Will Save You" on Hulu this week, I wanted to revisit a freaky alien abduction flick that doesn't get enough attention. Olatunde Osunsanmi's faux documentary thriller "The Fourth Kind" approaches extraterrestrial horror from both an inquisitive and frightening angle by treating the story as real. Osunsanmi uses Alaskian isolation as a backdrop for otherworldly horror, preying on our fears of little green men who the government just confessed do exist. I can't even say aliens tie into fears of the unknown anymore. What a world!

Kenneth Branagh's new mystery "A Haunting in Venice" is the third film he has made based on the Hercule Poirot novels by Agatha Christie. His first was "Murder on the Orient Express" in 2017, and his second with "Death on the Nile" in 2022. Branagh also played Poirot in all three of these movies, giving the filmmaker an organic excuse to paste the world's most ridiculous mustaches on his face. In the former, in particular, he seems to sport two whole mustaches, one on each cheek.
The Poirot mysteries are well-fitted to Branagh's sensibilities. He has long been comfortable with outside productions, lavish visuals, and theatrical storytelling. He also often tells stories that require large ensembles, and Branagh has always had a talent for attracting some of the world's biggest movie stars and most prestigious actors to appear in his movies. His 1996 version of "Hamlet" may be the ur-example, as Branagh...

Much of the discussion about 1999 on the internet revolves around it being landmark year for cinema. As someone who grew up in Orlando, Florida and went to Universal Studios nearly every weekend, the biggest pop culture event of 1999 was the opening of the theme park Islands of Adventure and Universal CityWalk. While the park rightfully gets all the attention, the opening of CityWalk was just as big of a deal, giving us regular parkgoers a plethora of new dining options and ways to blow our money. Granted, it was a lot of big chain restaurants, but compared to theme park food, that can be a step up.
Consequently, a place I became all too familiar with was Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, the restaurant chain empire started by the recently departed musician whose hit song the business takes its name from. Margaritaville is a staple of the Universal theme park experience...

A legend is no longer with us, for Arleen Sorkin has died at the age of 67. The news was first reported by voice actor Neil Kaplan and later confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. She is survived by her husband and their two sons. DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn shared a tribute to Sorkin on Instagram, and her old friend and co-star Mark Hamill wrote: "Not just a wonderful talent, but a truly wonderful person. I'm grateful not only to have worked with her, but to have been her friend."
Mrs. Sorkin is most remembered for being the original voice of the DC Comics character Harley Quinn. She played the part across 17 years, beginning in "Batman: The Animated Series" in 1992 and for the last time in the 2009 video game, "Batman: Arkham Asylum." We'll talk about this part of her legacy soon, but first, let's be clear — Sorkin was not a one-trick pony.

Let's hope they have Plinko in the afterlife because the longest-running "The Price is Right" host, Bob Barker, has died at the age of 99. The news was first reported by ABC7. Barker hosted "The Price is Right" for over three decades -- from 1972 to 2007 -- asking contestants to come on down and try to guess the correct prices of items, ranging from groceries to huge prize packages like a cruise, a set of luggage, and a brand new car. On his watch, "The Price is Right" became the longest-running game show in North American history. And with its success, Barker became a household name, a comforting face, and a voice that was regularly on TV every weekday morning.
Barker began his career in radio before moving to the NBC television series "Truth or Consequences" as host in 1956, where he stayed for nearly 20 years. In 1972, after "The Price is Right" was...

Taking a cue from video games, Jpegmafia and Danny Brown have expanded their collaborative album, Scaring The Hoes, with a new four-track EP they’re calling Dlc Pack. Stream the project via Apple Music or Spotify below.
Like the original album, Scaring the Hoes: Dlc Pack was produced entirely by Jpegmafia. The opening track, “Guess What Bitch, We Back Hoe!” features uptempo, club-influenced production, while “Hermanos” features a gorgeous vocal sample that contrasts with the duo’s sharp flows, and “Tell Me Where to Go” is surprisingly laidback with a soul flip of its own.

Ok, we’re already past the halfway mark of 2023, so it’s time for a Best-Of-Year, So Far list, cool? As usual, our mid-year list contains films released right up until, well, yesterday, basically. Our “rules,” insofar as we stick to them, is that films on this should have had a U.S. theatrical release and not just show up at a film festival, but as you might remember from the past, we bend those rules a little here and there.

To the surprise of some and the delight of many, the late Taiwanese director Edward Yang’s drama Yi Yi (2000) has topped the The Hollywood Reporter critics’ list of the “Best 50 Films of the 21st Century (So Far).” Helping put the film in context, Japanese director Ryusuke Hamaguchi, 44, whose 2021 film Drive My Car won the best international film Oscar (and also lands at #19 on THR‘s list), offers a personal statement on what Yang’s masterpiece has meant to him and a generation of Asian filmmakers.
Urban life in Asia, especially in the wake of World War II, has become markedly Westernized. For the post-war generation, to which Edward Yang and my parents belonged, the richness of material and spiritual gains that came from this process must have felt like a stroke of luck. HBO Max’s “Dune” prequel series, currently known as “Dune: The Sisterhood” is undergoing further “creative changes” as director Johan Renck and star Shirley Henderson have departed the project, TheWrap has learned. The overhaul comes months after creator Diane Ademu-John’s exit as co-showrunner last November.
“As ‘Dune: The Sisterhood (wt)’ has entered a pre-scheduled hiatus, there are some creative changes being made to the production in an effort to create the best series possible and stay true to the source material,” an HBO Max spokesperson told TheWrap. “Johan Renck has completed his work on the series and a new director will be brought on; through mutual agreement, Johan is moving on to pursue other projects. Additionally, Shirley Henderson will be exiting the series and will no longer be playing Tula Harkonnen.” The aforementioned hiatus had been pre-planned to avoid filming during the winter.

‘A Little Prayer’ Review: David Strathairn Shines as Conflicted Patriarch in Thoughtful Family Drama
In the right role, David Straithairn is one of those actors as inescapably real as your morning bedhead, the creak in your floorboards and the seasoning of a thousand meals coating your cast-iron skillet.
In the right role, he’s almost a centralizing force of authenticity, which is certainly the case with writer-director Angus MacLachalan’s wonderful, heartfelt “A Little Prayer,” a small-scale family drama about the anxiety that arises when children aren’t children anymore and parenting becomes a consciously risky meddling.
MacLachalan, best known for writing the lived-in Southern charmer “Junebug,” is on his third go-round directing one of his unflashy, breezily thorny character studies built on details of sincerity, agitation and humor in families. The weekend box office has been a bust for the past few weeks, even with the boost of the newly-named National Cinema Day on September 3. This weekend is looking a bit better, thanks mostly to one movie: "The Woman King." Based on a true story, the film stars Viola Davis as a general of the Agojie, an all-female military that protects the West African kingdom of Dahomey.
"The Woman King" was described by /Film's Chris Evangelista as a "rousing historical epic" and has earned mostly positive critical reviews, but unless movies have Tom Cruise hanging off an aircraft in them, people just haven't been willing to spend the last few weeks of decent weather sitting in a theater.
According to Variety, "The Woman King" is going to be the winner this weekend, taking the crown from last week's surprise horror champion, "Barbarian." Though dedicated horror fans are still turning out...

They say "blood is thicker than water," but for many, this isn't true — the strongest bonds are with those we love, who may or may not be blood relatives. This is the basic premise explored in "Rosie," a Canadian indie film about found families, accepting queer identities, and overcoming trauma. It's a thoroughly charming little film, and while it has flaws, it's a promising project from some emerging faces in the industry.
"Rosie" is the debut feature film from Métis writer-director-actor Gail Maurice. Maurice identifies as LGBTQ+; at the Toronto International Film Festival, she stated that she chose a soundtrack and setting for "Rosie" to coincide with roughly the same time period as her own queer awakening. This makes sense. There's a strong queer undercurrent in "Rosie," and although the film deals with a lot of themes, the ones that resonate the loudest are those relating to two-spirit characters Flo...

Don't break out your Party Boy panties and your camcorders just yet, "Jackass" fans — the beloved series is not getting a revival as previously reported. There is still some great new content headed our way from the crew behind the franchise, but it's not going to be more "Jackass." In a soon-to-be published interview with /Film's Ethan Anderton to promote his upcoming Hulu series, "Reboot," "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville explained that there have been some misunderstandings with regards to the future of all things "Jackass." Indeed, "Jackass Forever" was likely the nail in the coffin for that particular brand of humorous hijinks.
With the guys getting older and recovery from injuries taking longer (and far more dangerous), it's really not a huge shock that "Jackass" isn't coming back. For those of us who love the guys and don't want to see them disappear completely, however, the good news is that...

A memory, even a very happy one, can be tinged with sadness after the fact — especially when viewed in a new light. This is the underlying spirit of "Aftersun," the debut feature film from Scottish writer-director Charlotte Wells. The project is clearly a very personal one; the film drifts along at a dreamy, quiet pace, slowly unraveling its story about an unforgettable vacation, framed like a collection of memories held together by home movies, photographs, and souvenirs.
The bulk of Wells' film focuses on young father Calum (Paul Mescal) and his 11-year-old daughter Sophie (Frankie Corio). Calum and Sophie's mother have long since broken up; he isn't in his daughter's life as much as he'd like to be, so he treats their alone time together vacationing at a Turkish resort as a precious — if fleeting — opportunity. Sophie is the typical, precocious kid on the cusp of puberty. She's mildly embarrassed by Calum,...

It happens every year. Festival season rolls around, and the standing ovation timing begins. This isn't a new phenomenon, but it seems to be spreading further and wider than ever before, and I'd like it to stop, please. Traditionally, these timed standing ovations seem to be in the domain of the Cannes Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival. When Baz Luhrmann's wonderfully bonkers "Elvis" premiered at Cannes earlier this year, trades were quick to breathlessly report that flick earned a 12-minute standing ovation. The Ana de Armas Marilyn Monroe movie "Blonde" recently earned itself a 14-minute standing ovation at Venice.
These absurdly lengthy ovations are meant to highlight how successful a movie went over with an audience, but sometimes, the standing o's can also be used negatively. For example: when Noah Baumbach's "White Noise" debuted at Venice, Variety practically broke their legs running to report the flick...

Why Making ‘Dalíland’ Was a Dream Come True for ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Star Christopher Briney
Though his face is now associated with Amazon Prime Video’s show of the summer, “The Summer I Turned Pretty”, actor Christopher Briney will also appear in TIFF’s closing night film “Dalíland” alongside Sir Ben Kingsley, Barbara Sukowa, Ezra Miller, Suki Waterhouse and more. Directed by Mary Harron, from a screenplay by John C. Walsh, the film was shot in the spring of 2021 in the UK, before Briney worked on the eventual hit Prime Video series. In fact, “Dalíland” was his first acting role ever.
“Independent film is where my heart has always been, and it’s always been my dream to do that as much as I can in my life,” Briney said in an interview with TheWrap. “Whether it’s acting or directing down the line, it’s a world that’s inspired me a lot and a world that’s a big reason why I love acting.

Actor-turned-director Olivia Wilde's second feature film, "Don't Worry Darling," is heading to cinemas this month after a string of controversies. For the most part, the juicy details of the film's story have been a tightlipped secret, though its mysterious psychological thriller tone is a strong right turn from Wilde's confident and slick comedic solo debut, "Booksmart." Set in a 1950's inspired suburb, Florence Pugh plays Alice, who lives a dreamy, idyllic life with her husband Jack, played by Harry Styles. Alice's perception of reality falls apart as she slowly realizes her sunny town is not what it seems.
Amongst the supporting cast of this film is Chris Pine's character and main antagonist, Frank, the founder of this retro community he dubs the "Victory Project." In a conversation with Maggie Gyllenhaal for Interview Magazine, Wilde revealed that a source of inspiration for Pine's menacing character is Jordan Peterson,...

Based on the 1994 A.S. Byatt short story "The Djinn in the Nightingale's Eye," George Miller's new film "Three Thousand Years of Longing" -- in theaters on August 26 in the United States -- stars Idris Elba as Byatt's titular djinn who appears to a human scholar named Alithea (Tilda Swinton) to grant her wishes in exchange for his freedom. "The Djinn in the Nightingale's Eye" appeared in a collection of similar short stories that draw heavily from ancient texts and folk tales, linking up themes and characters from works such as the "Epic of Gilgamesh," "One Thousand and One Nights," and "The Canterbury Tales," as well as the works of William Shakespeare, and the myth of Cybele. Miller seemingly matched Byatt's thematic links by including multiple flashback scenes wherein the djinn interacts with figures of the distant past.

When actor-turned-director Olivia Wilde debuted with the exceedingly well-received "Booksmart" in 2019, the sky seemed to be the limit. Not only was the film a pleasant surprise and a thoroughly confident first feature, but Wilde quickly gained a reputation as a filmmaker who prioritized drama-free sets and a professional working environment for all. She put her money where her mouth is during production of her follow-up, the highly-anticipated "Don't Worry Darling."

One of the ways "Mad Men" makes its many dour moments more palatable is through music, from impromptu musical numbers to dinner party concerts. Who can forget Bert Cooper's song-and-dance number, or Megan Draper's French serenade of "Zou Bisou Bisou." In another memorable musical moment from the show, Joan Holloway sings in French while also wielding an accordion with uncanny skill.
It's a moment that comes as a light shock, one of the many reminders that the characters in "Mad Men" carry with them pasts we know nothing about. But actor Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan, really only needed to learn French for the scene, since she was already an adept accordion player before "Mad Men." Initially, an accordion wasn't the instrument the writers intended Joan to play, but that all changed when they found out about Hendricks' skill.

Paul Dano has been a professional actor since age 12 when he appeared in a 1996 Broadway revival of "Inherit the Wind" with Charles Durning and George C. Scott. In film, Dano broke out in 2001 playing the lead role in Michael Cuesta's hard-hitting sexual drama "L.I.E." opposite Brian Cox in a career-best performance. Since then, Dano has made a career playing intense outsiders and occasional weirdos in a long string of highly acclaimed dramas. His appearance as a mute, Nietzsche-obsessed teen in 2006's "Little Miss Sunshine" was a highlight in a film full of them, and his oddball turn as a not-so-timid preacher in Paul Thomas Anderson's "There Will Be Blood" was gloriously off-center. As an actor, he has worked with Ang Lee, Spike Jonze, Kelly Reichardt, Paolo Sorrentino, Denis Villeneuve, Steve McQueen, and Bong Joon-ho.

Like its titular monster, the "Predator" movie franchise has proven very hard to kill, even after multiple sequels and crossovers that've seen wildly varying results when it comes to their financial success and, most importantly, their actual quality. Look, thanks to that godforsaken pandemic, which messed up the Oscars and the entire calendar year, it’s kind of hard to make the Best Films Of The Year, So Far feature because so many films were kind of released in 2020 — to qualify early for the Oscars — and or many were just released in a quiet limited release in December 2020. So, there is a tiny bit of crossover on our Best Films of 2020 list, but some films, “Nomadland” and “Minari” — which were essentially seen early last year at festivals — are not on this list and some films on the edge, like “Pieces of A Woman,” are okay?
