Superman: The Animated Series was the second show that aired in the Dcau, but remains one of the best adaptations of the Man of Steel. Bruce Timm can arguably be called the architect of the Dcau. Superman was voiced by Tim Daly of The Sopranos fame, who might not have been as excited for the animated series as fans.

Tim Daly talked to Flickering Myth about his involvement with Superman: The Animated Series, and how he played the role at a time when the Dcau had just kicked off. While actors like Kevin Conroy approached the role with a passion for the characters that they played, it seemed the case was completely different for Tim Daly.

When Gunn & Safran assumed leadership roles as co-chairmen and co-CEOs of DC Studio, they revealed plans for a comprehensive revamp of the old Dceu, unveiling a plethora of projects spanning live-action films, TV series, and animated shows. Among these, ‘Superman’ is currently in production and slated for a 2025 release, while ‘Creature Commandos’ marks the inaugural project under the newly established Dcu label.
However, one project that receives relatively little attention within the Dcu lineup is the forthcoming ‘Booster Gold’ TV Show, centered around the titular hero.
James Gunn recently disclosed that the show is in active development but won’t enter production in the near future. However, industry insider Daniel Richtman now divulges that the show is on the verge of securing a showrunner, and the lead character has already been cast. These developments confirm suspicions stemming from recent social media remarks.

When Gunn & Safran took over DC Studio as co-chairmen and co-CEOs, they announced a complete overhaul of the old Dceu and announced a large number of projects ranging from live-action movies to live-action TV shows and animated series. We know that several projects are currently in production such as ‘Superman’ bound to be released in 2025 and ‘Creature Commandos’ the first project to be released under the newly coined Dcu label.
One project that is rarely talked about when it comes to the Dcu is the upcoming ‘Booster Gold’ TV Show, focusing on the hero of the same name.
Recently, James Gunn revealed that the show is being actively worked on but it’s not going to go into production anytime soon. Now industry insider, Daniel Richtman reveals that the show is getting a showrunner soon, and the titular character has already been cast, something we already suspected based on recent comments made on social media.

As filming continues on James Gunn's Dcu Superman reboot, the Guardians of the Galaxy director has shared an update on the progress of the production.
Responding to a fan on social media who asked when we can expect a first trailer, Gunn revealed that we're going to be waiting another while, as the movie is now "just over halfway through" shooting.
Production recently moved to Macon, Georgia, and a photo was shared to X/Twitter of a heavily tarped-up set. Cameras are not expected to start rolling until early next month, but Gunn and co. definitely seem to be taking every precaution to ensure that spy shots don't leak online.

Last week, Amazon made its first-ever pitch to advertisers at the annual upfronts in New York; for Netflix, it was the first it’s done in person. The streamers also pitched a whole new kind of TV show: movies.
When ad-supported tiers came to platforms like Netflix and Disney+ last year, streamers joined the annual network ritual of presenting their slates to media buyers. However, this was the first time that films entered the spotlight.
Budget-minded streaming subscribers are familar with film and TV pre-rolls as well as the ads that may drop between or during TV episodes. So far, movies and movie lovers have been spared the dreaded mid-roll — the advertisement that shows up during a movie, where it was never meant to be.
That doesn’t mean it can’t be. Brad Adgate, a media consultant and the former research director at Horizon Media, believes advertisers would jump...

According to rumors, James Gunn will make Green Arrow a part of his Justice League team in the Dcu. The character has a decent fanbase, thanks to Stephen Amell’s eight-season run as Oliver Queen in The CW show, Arrow. Interestingly, rumors also suggest that Dcu will make Black Canary his partner.

DC’s My Adventures With Superman is returning for a second season and the makers seemed to have pulled all the stops to make it a bigger and better follow-up to the hit show. The animated series stars Jack Quaid as Superman and Alice Lee voicing Lois Lane. The show also sees Jimmy Olsen as a significant part of the trio.
While the show has references to multiple other DC characters and artifacts, it has yet to feature one of the IP’s most popular characters Batman. While the show had a reference to Gotham in the first season, producer Jack Wyatt seemed to have a disappointing update about the Caped Crusader’s presence in the second season of the show.

With the Riverdale finale in August 2023, The CW officially entered what seemed to be a new era of content. While some other series were still wrapping up, network executives shared ambitious plans to finally switch audiences, make the network profitable, and join ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox as a major network.
Whether The CW has achieved the financial goals it set for itself remains to be seen. What is obvious is the change in the series lineup for the 2024/2025 season, with many TV series either left out as there was no confirmation of their renewal, or very different from what the channel used to show.
Is Walker Renewed for Season 5?
Now it seems that The CW is about to cut all ties with the star of one of the most popular shows the network has ever produced, Supernatural. Season 4 of Jared Padalecki's Walker will be the last to be produced by the network.

Starring as one of the first proper live-action feature-length leads of a Superman movie, Christopher Reeve left behind an unmatched legacy. A role that he held onto for nine years saw his popularity sky-rocket and his persona greatly amplified. Additionally, his off-screen life also largely mirrored his on-screen role as every day brought with it new adventures and the fearless star had no hesitation in trying out exploring something he had never done before, almost on a daily basis.

When My Adventures With Superman debuted last year, it felt like a breath of fresh air amidst a sea of overly dark and dreary takes on the character and on the DC Universe in general. Here was a show that allowed Superman to be a symbol of hope, that allowed Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen to be three-dimensional characters with depth and charm, and allowed the larger DC Universe to be vibrant, bombastic, and centered on literally anyone not named Batman.
Now, the newly minted fan-favorite has returned to screens for its second season. With the origin out of the way and the stakes higher than ever, can the show keep the momentum going and deliver an animated DC show on par with the beloved Animated Universe of old? The DC Universe is home to some of the strongest and most iconic superhero characters of all time. With the likes of Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Green Arrow, and many more. However, one character is more popular than the lot— The Flash. Over the years, the Speedster has gained immense popularity as he has been part of different narrative elements in the Dcu, including a standalone film and being part of the Arrowverse.

Super/Man, the Christopher Reeve documentary focusing on the actor’s brilliant contribution to cinema and fight to find a cure for spinal cord injuries, is leaping tall buildings in a single bound for a two-day theatrical engagement. The powerful doc comes to theaters on September 21, followed by an encore presentation on Reeve’s birthday, September 25. DC Studios and Fathom Events are joining forces for the occasion. The studio has not announced if Super/Man will receive a broader release.
“On behalf of not only Warner Bros., but also my colleagues at DC, HBO and CNN, it’s an honor to be a part of bringing Christopher Reeve and his singular legacy to audiences again,” Jeff Goldstein, president of domestic distribution, said. “It was at this very studio where he made us all believe a man could fly, and this documentary reveals what made him a true hero, on- and off-screen.

Simone Hicks plans to “dominate this season” when All American: Homecoming returns — but fresh footage from the upcoming episodes has us thinking the season might dominate her.
In the exclusive Season 3 trailer embedded above, Simone’s renewed determination on the tennis court quickly gives way to a potential injury (“Something’s off with my swing,” she worries aloud) and a seemingly formidable opponent from another university. ‘Waller’ was confirmed to be in development back in 2022 as a spinoff of ‘Peacemaker’, with Viola Davis reprising her role as the titular character, recently it’s been confirmed that the show will not be comedy-oriented as ‘Peacemaker’ as Waller is much more serious character, and the show will try to reflect that tone.
The show was supposed to be released in 2024, but the fact that Gunn is now focusing on the rest of the Dcu projects, the best-case scenario is that the show gets released in 2025, even though the 2024 release date is still present in some sources.

There have been some rumored projects that seem to be on the horizon for James Gunn’s Dcu, according to the internet. There are some IPs that are said to be working their way towards the Dcu’s official lineup, and it includes teams like Justice League International, The Terrifics, and Justice League Dark.

The Terrifics is a team that was created more recently in the comics, specifically to explore the Dark Multiverse that was introduced in the Dark Nights: Metal crossover event in the DC Universe. James Gunn and his rebooted Dcu is the talk of the Hollywood town. And he found his Supergirl in House of the Dragon fame Milly Alcock. She played young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the HBO prequel show with a fierce tenacity that felt like a breath of fresh air.
Now, it seems like Alcock is making a mark on the industry and taking on more diverse roles to showcase her range. However, being an Australian actress, it wasn’t so easy for her to land the iconic DC role.

Zack Snyder had so many plans for Henry Cavill’s Superman during the reign of the DC Extended Universe, but unfortunate circumstances led to the downfall of the franchise. Now, with James Gunn already rebuilding the new era of heroes and villains under DC Universe, can his version live up to the game?

Zack Snyder spoke with GQ and extensively discussed Superman’s narrative in the once-promising Dceu franchise.
It’s birth, deaths, and resurrection, really is what the first three movies are. In the end, they’re Superman stories. I think the people get sidetracked by Batman a little bit.

Superman may be colloquially known as "The Big Blue Boy Scout," but sometimes, he can be straight up villainous. Sure, he's saved Metropolis (and the world) more times than any individual can count, however, that doesn't excuse his moments of cruelty and authoritarian-brand of justice.
The most interesting aspect of Superman as a character derives from his immortality on Earth. Short of using Kryptonite, our measly human-made weapons never account for much damage against the Man of Steel. The only thing stopping Clark Kent/Superman from taking over the world or causing serious harm is his sense of righteousness.
While Supes, for the most part, doesn't allow his ego or greed to corrupt him, he's certainly made some questionable decisions across his nearly-90 year history. As we prepare for the cinematic return of Superman with James Gunn's "Superman: Legacy," let's remind ourselves that even our most morally straight hero falters.

While we'd expected James Gunn to cast a couple of big names as Superman's Ma and Pa Kent, the filmmaker instead chose to find two actors he felt embody the characters, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell.
There's still no word on who, if anyone, will play Jor-El (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star Kurt Russell remains the rumoured fan favourite) but we're expecting Jonathan and Martha to be a huge part of Clark Kent's story. Here's hoping neither of them meets a tragic end, anyway!

The Dcu is bustling with various projects underway, from the animated ‘Creature Commandos’ to the highly anticipated ‘Superman’ slated for a 2025 release, and the recently updated release date for ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.’
Among these, the upcoming ‘Booster Gold’ TV show, centered around the titular hero, often flies under the radar.
A recent production listing indicated that ‘Booster Gold’ was set to begin filming on July 8th. James Gunn and Peter Safran were listed as producers, and John Papsidera as casting director. However, this raised eyebrows considering this year was earmarked for ‘Superman,’ ‘Waller,’ and ‘Peacemaker’ season 2. James Gunn himself addressed the speculation on his Threads account, confirming that ‘Booster Gold’ is indeed in development but production is not imminent.
It’s logical to assume that if production were truly imminent, we’d already be inundated with leaks and rumors about casting, costumes, and the overall plot of the show.

Dcu has plenty of projects in the works, starting with the animated ‘Creature Commandos’ to ‘Superman’ bound to be released in 2025, and ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ which recently got a release date update.
One project that is rarely talked about when it comes to the Dcu is the upcoming ‘Booster Gold’ TV Show, focusing on the hero of the same name.
Recently, a production listing stated that ‘Booster Gold’ is entering production on July 8th. James Gunn was listed as producer along with Peter Safran, with John Papsidera being credited as casting director. Barbra Fuller, who starred as the daughter Claudia on the long-running radio soap opera One Man’s Family, all while appearing in films for Republic Pictures and such TV shows as Adventures of Superman, has died. She was 102.
Fuller, who lived in the Los Angeles area, died Wednesday, her godson J.P. Sloane announced.
On the San Francisco-set One Man’s Family, created by Carlton E. Morse, Fuller played one of the Barbour family’s five kids from 1945 until the NBC Radio drama completed its 27-year run in 1959. Bruce Timm is widely regarded as one of the most important figures when it comes to the overall DC Animated franchise, and is the face behind several highly-praised projects. From his work on Batman, which includes Batman: The Animated Series, to the various iterations of Superman, and Justice League, the DC animated franchise would have looked starkly different had it not been for Timm.

However, even a creator as gifted and celebrated as Bruce Timm has his fair share of regrets, when it comes to his career. Speaking in an interview back in 2017, the 63-year-old had revealed how he regrets the fact that the 2008-released Justice League: Frontier did not get a second part.
This led to Timm and his team failing to inculcate the entire story from the DC comics, leading to them picking and choosing what they could include in New Frontier.

Now after several months of filming the last season of ‘Superman & Lois’ has wrapped filming, ready for the Fall 2024 release date.
Now a few months before the show is about to air, The CW’s President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz has nothing but words of praise for the final season of the popular superhero show.
