Helldivers 2 has been one of PlayStation’s biggest successes this year. It is the quintessential live-service title, showcasing the potential success of such games if the developers handle it well. However, like any title before it, Helldivers 2 is now slowly losing popularity, and Arrowhead Studios is currently hard at work to ensure fans stick around for a little longer.
What the studio is missing out on, it seems, is studying the cases of other highly successful titles that came before it and what they did to prolong their life. The biggest example of this is Fortnite, and there’s one very old feature from that game that may just save Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 Should Get an Expanded Super Store With More In-Game Items Helldivers 2‘s community has shown great resilience against all the challenges that came their way.

There's nothing like a good sitcom after a long day of hard work. No matter how tired or upset you are, there are some shows that can make all your worries go away in just a few episodes, and for that they're considered truly iconic. It just so happens that a good portion of them come from NBC.
So, if you thought NBC was only a home for dark and gritty procedural franchises, check out the list of shows below to remind yourself how many other shows the network has released, Law & Order and One Chicago aside.
Cheers (1982-1993)
The classic bar-centric sitcom that followed a bartender and his friends and co-workers could have been canceled in 1982. The show failed to impress viewers from the start, but later redeemed itself to become one of the most popular and highly rated television shows of all time. Thanks to NBC, it survived to air 11 more seasons.

As buyers touch down at Lax for the annual LA Screenings, it will be a case of a return to the norm following the unusual circumstances of last year. The Hollywood labor strikes not only threw confusion on what would be a realistic purchase, but also stopped acquisitions executives getting face time (and a quick selfie) with acting and writing talent — something many value as part of their buying process.
There will be no such issues this year, and the studio sales bosses are relishing a return to the norm. “We’re really excited, it feels like we’re really back after the strikes and firing on all cylinders,” says David Decker, President of Content Sales for Warner Bros. Discovery (Wbd). “We have an abundance of titles that run the gamut of broadcast and streaming in drama and comedy. We’ll be showing the best of what Wbd stands for.

NBC’s schedule for the 2024-25 season doesn’t look that different from its current lineup: The Voice on Monday and Tuesday nights, the three Chicago dramas on Wednesday and Law & Order shows on Thursday.
It’s a business-as-usual lineup — but after last year’s strikes-affected schedule and the numerous disrpuptions of the pandemic year of 2020-21 still relatively fresh, that’s a good thing.
“Basically, it was just where do we put our sophomore shows and our our new shows on schedule?” Steve Kern, senior vp program planning and scheduling at NBC Entertainment, told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview. “Our wish was to have two comedy blocks on the fall schedule, and we were fortunate to have enough comedies to do it this year.”

He’s not the first former journalist to take a job in corporate PR, but he may be first former “fake” journalist to do so.
Chicago law film Edelson PC announced earlier this week that Bob Wiltfong has joined the company as its new Director of Communication & Impact.
Wiltfong served as a Daily Show correspondent from 2004-2005. Prior to that, he worked as a real-life newcaster for ten years. He’s also made appearances on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Superstore and Jimmy Kimmel Live!
More recently, he wrote a book titled “The Bs Dictionary: Uncovering the Origins and True Meanings of Business Speak,” which was adapted into a popular 2022 Ted Talk.
In his new role at Edelson PC, the firm says Wiltfong will supply content to the firm’s creative wing, as well as directing public relations.
What exactly does a law firm’s “creative wing” do, you ask?...

Faithful Peter’s set quite the trap, but will he catch any traitors?
In last week’s episode of The Traitors, the former bachelor slipped some incorrect info to Ct, Dan and Parvati — three people he suspected were traitors — by telling them that he and Janelle were the recipients of the shields. The goal: To lure a traitor into murdering Bergie or Trishelle, the true shield holders, thereby cancelling the murder. And if the murder was cancelled, then one of Peter’s suspects was surely a traitor.

America Ferrera has made a career of playing real women, ranging from portraits of historical figures (such as political activist Helen Chávez in “Cesar Chavez”) to portrayals of the relatable plights faced by everyday girls everywhere (as embodied by the actress’ viral speech in “Barbie.”)
Ferrera’s selection of roles have seeming all lead to her turn in Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” which landed Ferrera a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2024 Oscars. But the former teen star was already an icon to fans of the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” franchise, “Ugly Betty,” and “Superstore.” “Barbie” was just a nice reminder that maybe we’ve all been taking Ferrera’s talents for granted too long.
Let’s not forget that Ferrera made history by winning the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for “Ugly Betty,” becoming the first Latina woman to take home the prize in the category.

America Ferrera is reflecting on the success of Barbie — and why she thinks the race of her character in the film helped her land the part. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Friday, the actress opened up about the fact that she hadn’t always been considered for non-Latina roles until recently in her career.
“To be frank: For the majority of my career, I have not been considered for roles that weren’t written specifically Latina,” Ferrera said. “And so that, in and of itself, limits what people...

In the aftermath of Must-See TV, there was a stretch of time when it seemed like NBC was doing comedy outreach for TV critics, constantly renewing shows like Parks and Recreation and The Good Place and Superstore not because they had huge audiences, but because the audiences they possessed were fervent and vocal.
With the initial success of the Night Court reboot and the cancelation of the ostensibly edgier or more niche — some, like me, might say “better,” but to each their own — American Auto and Grand Crew, it wouldn’t be unreasonable for NBC to think that the way forward is broader and more traditional comedies.
If NBC’s new Extended Family is an example of that way forward, there are, at least, worse fates. This is a multi-camera family sitcom of the most traditional type, with a premise so thin it’s barely a premise at all. In...

It’s that time of year again for tricks, treats and spooks. Halloween is such a fun time when we can all be kids again and get into the spirit of make-believe, and many TV shows over the years have partaken in that fun.
Several programs have given us an annual Halloween episode to look forward to, with “Superstore” and “Black-ish” offering some of the most creative costumes and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Roseanne” and “Home Improvement” coming up with hysterical pranks. Surprisingly, supernatural shows like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Charmed” have only one or two Halloween-themed episodes, but as creepy storylines are their specialties, they are some of the best. It’s also fun to go way back, and visit “The Addams Family” or “Bewitched” to see what tricks kooky and spooky families and witches got up to years ago.

Exclusive: Max Hollman, a rising star drama executive at HBO, has left the premium cable network to join Middle Child Pictures, the film and TV company launched recently by David Bernad. Hollman will continue to work with HBO as he sets off to run television for Middle Child Pictures as Producer/Executive through a first-look TV deal the company has signed with HBO and A24.
Under that pact, HBO will get first crack at Middle Child Pictures’ TV development, with A24 serving as the studio on projects that the network takes in. For shows that don’t go to HBO, A24 can come on board and sell them elsewhere.
Hollman, who started his career as an assistant in the television department at CAA, had been at HBO for almost eight years, rising from assistant to coordinator, manager, director and, most recently, VP, drama programming. During his tenure,...

This past spring, social media lit up around a very new kind of American Sweetheart: 30-year-old Ronald Gladden, a solar contractor who believed he was signing up for a documentary on the jury system and instead ended up being the adored lead presence of Amazon Freevee’s fish-out-of-water comedy “Jury Duty.” Gladden answered a Craigslist ad, the producers took a shine to him, and history was made.
“So, I wasn’t part of the Ronald process,” Emmy-nominated casting director Susie Farris told TheWrap. “Ronald is a real person, and I don’t cast reality. [Laughs] But you know, obviously, the crazy part about the show is that every single person except for one is an actor.”
And that’s what made “Jury Duty” one of the year’s most singular TV challenges: casting buoyant, quick-witted, versatile actors that the general public would not recognize to improvise against Gladden as his fellow jurors,...

Barbie star America Ferrera is no stranger to big franchises. Before appearing in Greta Gerwig’s ode to womanhood and in NBC’s beloved sitcom Superstore, Ferrera got her start on a very relatable ABC primetime soap Ugly Betty.
First premiering in 2006, Ugly Betty ran for four season on network television and built up a devoted fanbase. The series, which is now streaming on Netflix, starred Ferrera as the titular “Ugly” Betty Suarez, a braces-wearing 22-year-old fashion neophyte from Queens. The show follows the awkward Betty as she lands a job at high fashion magazine Mode in Manhattan wear she works as a personal assistant under failson editor-in-chief Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius).
Ugly Betty was a lovely little series chock full of both drama and thoughtful commentary on how young women are expected to navigate their personal and professional lives. If that sounds like the kind of thing that would...
