I need to start by stating that I'm not Turkish, but I'm a history nerd, and have read all about Ottoman History, especially about Sultan Murad II and his son, Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror.
From the very first minutes of the first episode, the inaccuracies are evident. HOW in the world can a 12-year old CHILD Sultan go in the midst of battle and fight against the enemy like a common soldier against prince Orhan?! Oh, by the way, how did this battle even come to be you'd ask? WELL, it's FICTION, not historical dear reader. Mehmed the Conqueror at this time, NEVER fought against prince Orhan (the Byzantines set him free, but never could afford to give him an army). What's more, the actor used for Mehmed at the time, doesn't even make sense, since he looks here as if he is 16 years old instead of 12 (who falls in love with a peasant doctor's daughter😂), so that's another nonsense element to this whole thing, including the supposed way, Sultan Murad II was reinstated as Sultan, but I won't go into it much more. Watch and laugh by yourself for entertainment😂
The sole reason why I gave it an additional star, is the AMAZING cast of actors, especially the one playing Sultan Mehmed and Grand Vizier Candarli Pasha. At least they managed to portray their characters as the great politicans and statemen they were.
I sincerely hope people only watch this for entertainment, not hoping to learn anything historical, otherwise it's just a big waste of time, considering also who the "historical" (more like drama fiction) consultants for this series is...
