After 27 years, 26 seasons, and 325 episodes of television, South Park could be forgiven for wanting to try something new. So that’s exactly what creators, showrunners, and stars Trey Parker and Matt Stone are doing with their crass, yet beloved animated franchise.
When the duo reached a $900 million deal with MTV Entertainment Studios to produce new episodes of South Park through season 30, they also locked themselves in to creating 14 South Park movies for streaming service Paramount+. The first of these near feature-length specials, “South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid” premiered at the end of 2021 and has since been followed by many more.
Of course, South Park has never been afraid of extended running times. Recent seasons have experimented with serialization and the series even received its own theatrically-released film with South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut in 1999. But the consistent rate in which fans will now get supersized installments of Stan,...

In “The End of Obesity,” weight loss drugs take the quiet mountain town of South Park by storm. When the overweight, foul-mouthed Eric Cartman is denied access to the medicine, he recruits Kyle, Stan, Butters and Kenny for help.
In the teaser trailer, Cartman laments his size in the mirror while his friends run lab experiments in lab coats and goggles, preparing him to take the drugs. “We’ve been out navigating the American healthcare system,” says Butters. “I almost died!”

A brand new “South Park” special has dropped on Paramount+ on Wednesday and is now available to stream in the U.S. and Canada.
“South Park: Not Suitable for Children” spoofs OnlyFans, the popular adult content creation platform. In the new trailer, Mr. Mackey bursts into his classroom and exclaims they have a problem. The parents of South Park then assemble for a meeting. They shout out, “We’re talking about someone who influences our children!” and “This isn’t just softcore porn we’re talking about here!”
The official logline reads, “After it’s discovered that a teacher at South Park Elementary has an OnlyFans page, Randy is compelled to take a closer look at the seedy underbelly of the world of on-line influencers.”
This marks the sixth “South Park” special to stream on Paramount+, following “South Park: Post Covid,” “South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid,” “South Park: The Streaming Wars,...

Charter Communications CEO Chris Winfrey recently encountered a TV ad that conjured memories of his company’s carriage battle with Disney last September. This commercial message, however, came from a different legacy media company pushing into subscription streaming.
“Not to pick on anybody, but everybody’s been watching football,” Winfrey said, “I saw Paramount+ advertising South Park — exclusive on Paramount+. I said, ‘Oh my goodness, what’s left on Comedy Central that we’re still paying for?!’ If customers paid for it already, they need access to it. They need to get it.”
While he didn’t offer specifics, it appeared the CEO of the No. 2 U.S. cable operator was referring to South Park: Joining the Panderverse, which premiered last month as one of several “exclusive events” on Paramount+. Comedy Central continues to air the main series, many of whose seasons are also available for streaming subscribers.

This article contains spoilers for South Park: Joining the Panderverse.
It’s about that time of year again for Matt Stone and Trey Parker to continue their $900 million 14 TV movie Paramount+ contract promise and drop another near-hour-long South Park special.
At this point, it’s expected that these specials are the central platform for Stone and Parker to satirize recent social events but in the most outrageous South Park possible, as they do with the mainline show. Like its recent seasons, the specials have had a scattershot quality — usually plentiful in gags that are funny until tired or decent commentary on the rollercoaster years we’ve endured recently.
Nevertheless, it’s continually enticing to see which corner of American culture the creators will aim their tomatoes at and how ridiculously they will depict a central topic. In their latest special, South Park: Joining the Panderverse, the creators target the cycle...

Paramount+ has released a first-look clip of the event special “South Park: Joining the Panderverse.”
The opening of the clip (which can be seen below) sees Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny being played by a group of diverse women. As it turns out, the whole sequence is a nightmare of Cartman’s. His mother tries to comfort him, but he insists she check under the bed to make sure “there’s no Disney executives under there,” namely Kathleen Kennedy.
“Joining the Panderverse” is available now on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada. It will premiere on Oct. 28 in the U.K. and Australia and other international markets afterwards. The official logline states, “Cartman’s deeply disturbing dreams portend the end of the life he knows and loves.
