"Ninja Melk" is an American 26-minute short film from 2009, so already 7 years old now. It was written and directed by Ryan Higa and he also stars in here. Actually, I am not too sure if you can call it a film because it really is a Youtube video that has racked up almost 8 millions views (as of today) since it was uploaded. I personally cannot see the appeal at all and you can certainly talk about appeal looking at the IMDb rating here. In my opinion, it looks very amateurish, be it in terms of acting, costumes, image quality or most of all the plot. Here on IMDb, it calls the two protagonists (including Higa) "lovable goof balls", but I myself can just say there is very little charm to this project. It's a duo of Asian-American buddies joking around in front of the camera. That's perfectly fine, but it gets unappealing the moment they get this one out to the masses, simply because I cannot see any real cinematic quality in here at all. From start to finish. Major thumbs-down from me. Not recommended. But hey, at least the success of videos like this shows that everybody (no matter how much/little talent they have) can become a Youtube star today. Your pick whether that's a good thing or not.
