King Charles III would probably do things differently if he had a do-over at parenting Prince William and Prince Harry. According to a royal expert, the king likely “regrets” the “freestyle” way the Prince of Wales, 41, and Duke of Sussex, 39, grew up in the British royal family.
Harry and William didn’t have ‘many’ boundaries growing up
As kids growing up at Kensington Palace and Highgrove, the world was, for the most part, William and Harry’s oyster. After all, they were the children of a future king, the then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
As such, the brothers largely had free rein to do “what they wanted.” Sure, they had a nanny not unlike other royal children. The lack of boundaries is what Ingrid Seward, a royal expert and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, thinks King Charles now regrets.

Entertainment One (eOne) is producing and financing a live filming of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Come From Away.
In both recognition of the quality of the show and in support of the currently shuttered theatrical stage production community, the production will take place this May in the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City where the Broadway production is staged. Due to Covid-19, performances of the Broadway production have been suspended since March 12, 2020, the eve of the musical’s third anniversary. eOne acquired the rights to Come From Away in 2017. eOne is eyeing a September 2021 release.
Come From Away tells the true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships. Christopher Ashley, who received the Tony Award for his direction of the Broadway production,...

The curtain’s inching up on the Tony Awards: A ceremony will be held on an as-yet-undetermined date in coordination with Broadway’s eventual reopening, but voters will finally be able to make their selections beginning March 1, Tony organizers tell Deadline.
Nominees for the 74th Annual Tony Awards were announced last October, with the 18 eligible productions reflecting the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season (the count usually numbers in the 30s). The 2020 Tony ceremony and CBS broadcast had originally been set for June 7 at New York’s Radio City Musical Hall, but of course was scuttled due to the Covid shutdown.
The voting period will run from March 1 to March 15. Although Broadway remains officially closed until June, most insiders don’t expect any stagings before fall at the earliest, with timing contingent on widespread Covid-19 vaccinations.

Is it too early to start talking about next years Best Actress race? We got a first look at Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana in Neon’s upcoming biopic “Spencer,” and the role looks just as awards-baity as you’d expect. Will this earn the actress a long-overdue Oscar coronation?
See Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana in ‘Spencer’: Does the American actress have the chops to play British royalty? [Poll]
Directed by “Jackie” helmer Pablo Larrain, the film focuses on one Christmas holiday in the life of Princess Diana, during which she decides to leave Prince Charles and restart her life anew. Larrain, of course, guided Natalie Portman to an Oscar nomination for her performance as former First Lady Jackie Kennedy in that 2016 biographical drama, so he could certainly do for British royalty what he did for America’s Camelot.

Netflix has long since blown past the snooty preconceptions of the Hollywood elite that dubbed them as a mere streaming service, with the company currently churning out some of the most acclaimed shows on television and countless feature-length awards season contenders on an annual basis. The old guard tried to resist the inevitable paradigm shift for as long as possible, but based on both the quantity and quality of the in-house originals, Netflix can now comfortably be viewed as genuine rivals to the traditional major studios.
Of course, that takes a whole lot of investment, with close to $20 billion being funnelled into content last year, and that number only set to rise even higher. The Coronavirus pandemic may have decimated the theatrical industry, but Netflix has seen their subscriber count and viewership numbers continue to grow. Quota
Global platforms facing imminent local production quotas across Europe could be looking at a similar situation in Australia, where new proposed TV reforms could force international streaming services to invest heavily in local content.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, that is just one of two parts of a government plan to level the regulatory playing field between streamers and traditional free-to-air networks in Australia, which are struggling in the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The government is also considering the removal of annual broadcast spectrum taxes for commercial TV networks and replacing them with an entirely new licensing program that could save local broadcasters as much as $12 million Aud ($8.85 million) per year.

The theater industry’s pandemic-shortened season seems to have opened up the Grammy playing field for cast albums, as only two of the six just-announced nominees for the 2021 awards represent the usually-dominant Broadway.
The two Broadway cast albums included in today’s nominations for Best Musical Theater Album are David Byrne’s American Utopia on Broadway and Jagged Little Pill, the musical consisting of Alanis Morissette songs. Two London cast albums were nominated, as were two from Off Broadway.
Last year, all five nominees in the category were Broadway productions (Hadestown won), while the year before Broadway accounted for four of the five nominees, with TV’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert filling out the category (Broadway’s The Band’s Visit won). Previous years show a similar pro-Broadway pattern.

This week on the top 50 most viewed YouTube channels worldwide: A resoundingly dominant Indian record label, a number of kid-friendly channels jockeying for position, and one very cold YouTube star. Read on to see what changes November brought to the most-watched channels in the world.
Chart Toppers
T-Series is still atop our ranking of the most viewed channels of the week on YouTube. The indefatigable Indian entertainment destination, which now has more than 130 billion lifetime views to its name, added 865.3 million weekly views to that tally over our most recent seven-day measurement period. Amazingly, that total was 10% smaller than what T-Series accrued the week before, but it was still sturdy enough for the record label to hold onto the title of "most viewed YouTube channel of the week."
There was a mild surprise behind T-Series at #2, with Kids Diana Show moving up two spots from last week to reach the runner-up spot.

There’s a load of great content coming to Netflix in November, but just as is always the case, there are also a bunch of titles being removed from the streaming service at the same time. Next month, the platform is losing 53 movies and TV shows. There are some classics amongst them, too, unfortunately, so you might want to fit in a last minute rewatch before they vanish from Netflix’s library.
On the first day of November, four titles are being removed, including horror remake Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, children’s animated sequel Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil and Gerard Butler action movie Olympus Has Fallen. 2017 horror Death House is also leaving on the 4th, while drama Into the Forest departs Netflix on the 6th and Jamie Foxx vehicle Sleepless is among those disappearing the following day.

Leaders of SAG-AFTRA are in a bitter jurisdictional battle with Actors Equity over which union should cover the taping of live events.
The dispute went public Wednesday, when SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris and National Executive Director David White delivered a message to members that they are willing to offer a waiver in order to create more work opportunities for Aea members — but that it must contain an acknowledgment of SAG-AFTRA’s jurisdiction
“That waiver contains a very clear statement of our jurisdiction,” Carteris and White said. “Regrettably, Aea has not agreed to the waiver.”
The message also raised the possibility that Actors Equity may be attempting to poach jurisdiction from SAG-AFTRA.
“Our discussions with Aea’s leadership about these waivers have surfaced very real concerns on the part of their leadership over the long-term viability of the live theater business model,” the duo said. “In these conversations, it has become clear that,...

“Our discussions with Aea’s leadership about these waivers have surfaced very real concerns on the part of their leadership over the long-term viability of the live theater business model,” the duo said. “In these conversations, it has become clear that,...

Updated with Actors’ Equity response: SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity Association are locked in a jurisdictional dispute over the taping of live theatrical presentations. SAG-AFTRA has long held that jurisdiction, but says that it’s offered Aea a waiver to help out their fellow actors during the coronavirus shutdown of live theaters across the country. According to SAG-AFTRA, Actors’ Equity has rejected the terms of the waiver.
“SAG-AFTRA is looking to use a pandemic to claim jurisdiction in Equity workplaces now and into the future in a way they haven’t had before,” said Mary McColl, executive director of Actors’ Equity. “At a time when solidarity is required, SAG-AFTRA has chosen to disrupt the relationship between employers and actors that has existed for years, if not decades. Ultimately, the workers are the ones who are left behind.”

When Sam Bloom (Naomi Watts) fell from the balcony of her family’s holiday home in Thailand, leaving her paralysed, the successful mother-of-three thought she would never get her life back. Penguin Bloom is the story of Sam’s arduous road to recovery and the magpie which became an unlikely, but much-needed, companion.
If that premise sounds a little formulaic, Penguin Bloom never transcends the modest ambitions it sets for itself. Despite stellar work from Watts that has come to be an expectation, director Glendyn Ivin is unable to lift the rest of his film above just okay. File it under “Naomi Watts Outdoes All Others”, an increasingly substantial list which also includes King Kong, J Edgar, The Impossible, Diana, The Book of Henry and too many more.

Diana Rigg, best known for her iconic turn on The Avengers, and memorable roles on Game of Thrones and Theatre of Blood, died Sept. 10, at home with her family at the age of 82, according to Variety. “It is with tremendous sadness that we announce that Dame Diana Rigg died peacefully early this morning. She was at home with her family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time,” her agent Simon Beresford said in a statement. “Dame Diana was an icon of theatre, film, and television. She was the recipient of BAFTA, Emmy, Tony and Evening Standard Awards for her work on stage and screen. Dame Diana was a much loved and admired member of her profession, a force of nature who loved her work and her fellow actors. She will be greatly missed.”

Diana Rigg, the Tony and Emmy winner who splashed into the world of television with her commanding turn as intelligence agent Emma Peel on “The Avengers” in the 1960s and played Lady Olenna Tyrell on “Game of Thrones” decades later, died Thursday at her home in England. She was 82.
Rigg was a venerable figure in Britain’s entertainment industry who worked incessantly on stage, TV and film. She famously thumbed her nose at convention in her private life and in later years seemed to enjoy her status as a grande dame.
“She was a beautiful kind and generous human being that enhanced the lives of all that knew her as well as a great actress. She leaves a great void in my heart,” said Lionel Larner, Rigg’s longtime friend and talent agent.
Having a key role in the biggest TV series of the past decade was a fitting career capper for Rigg.

Diana Kennedy has been described as “the Mick Jagger” of Mexican food. Director Elizabeth Carroll makes her feature documentary debut with “Diana Kennedy: Nothing Fancy” (available on-demand) following the 97-year-old author, teacher and chef around Mexico, where Kennedy lives off the grid near Michoacan.
The documentary opens with Kennedy telling Carroll and her Dp Paul Mailman that she has “cooked my way through 80, 90 years of my life.” Viewers immediately get a sense of her feisty side before she starts to reminisce and tell her story. We see footage from renowned chefs such as Alice Waters and Rick Bayless who describe how this British woman became an influence on the way they cook Mexican food.
Dp Mailman tells Variety about traveling to Mexico to follow Kennedy on her hiking trails and how he captured the essence of what makes her Diana Kennedy, nothing fancy.
Did you know who Diana Kennedy was before this?...

Twilight and Charlie’s Angels star Kristen Stewart is set to get regal. She’ll be playing Princess Diana in new indie drama Spencer, written by Steven Knight and directed by Jackie‘s Pablo Larrain. This won’t be a traditional biopic though, instead zeroing in on three key days in the early 90s. These come at the height of Diana’s marital difficulties with Prince Charles and will see her figuring out whether to divorce the future King of England.
Deadline broke the news of the project, quoting Larrain who revealed his take on her tragic story:
“We all grew up, at least I did in my generation, reading and understanding what a fairy tale is. Usually, the prince comes and finds the princess, invites her to become his wife and eventually she becomes queen. That is the fairy tale. When someone decides not to be the queen, and says,...

Diana Kennedy has spent six decades writing about the traditions of Mexican cooking. But despite her James Beard awards and other honors, the British author’s legacy has become more complicated now that Mexican chefs and writers are telling their own stories.
The feisty woman who set out to chronicle the country’s regional cooking was influential particularly for English-speaking readers and cooks, so documentary filmmaker Elizabeth Carroll wanted to document the fascinating life of the now-97 year old author.
In “Diana Kennedy: Nothing Fancy,” now in virtual cinemas and coming June 19 to VOD, Kennedy recalls arriving in Mexico in 1957 and traveling around the country in her truck learning local traditions.
Aside from a long-ago cooking series for the Learning Channel, Kennedy isn’t a familiar face on TV like Julia Child, but her nine books and her cooking workshops were influential in bringing a deeper understanding Mexican cuisine to the attention of English-speaking chefs.

Diana Kennedy: Nothing Fancy (Elizabeth Carroll)
If certain reality shows and Netflix series focused on cooking don’t exactly give a strong sense of the person behind the culinary prowess, a new documentary satisfies that aspect. Diana Kennedy, the U.K.-born, Mexico-based chef, is an expert in the cooking culture of where she has made her life, and this new documentary captures her irascible spirit. With a genuine desire to know the people around her and the ingredients that go into their meals, the 97-year-old also freely speakers her mind, to say the least. She’s been called “the Indiana Jones of food,” “the Mick Jagger of Mexico,” and “the grand dame of Mexican cooking.” Observing the fervor with which chef Diana Kennedy barrels down the dirt roads of Michoacán in her white Nissan pickup truck, it’s not hard to see why the sprightly 95-year-old has earned such esteemed admirers, from the likes of Alice Waters, José Andrés, and Craig Claiborne. Kennedy’s no-nonsense attitude, passionate takes on everything from sex to sustainability, and encyclopedic knowledge of regional Mexican cuisine make her a perfect documentary subject. With director Elizabeth Carroll as skilled sous-chef, “Diana Kennedy: Nothing Fancy”
Borrowing its title from one of her nine classic cookbooks, “Nothing Fancy” presents Kennedy’s life at an engaging but thorough pace. Born in England in 1923, Kennedy moved to Mexico in 1957 after meeting her late husband, New York Times Latin America correspondent Paul Kennedy, during a military coup in Port-au-Prince.

In the latest edition of our Us-only Tubefilter top 50, there was only one newcomer to the top five, but an historic concert left an imprint further down the list. Meanwhile, the chart is still topped by a major producer of content for children, and it doesn't seem as if it will relinquish that hold anytime soon.
Chart Toppers
Cocomelon - Nursery Rhymes crossed the 900 million view threshold this week, picking up 905.6 million hits across a span of just seven days. The family-friendly destination has been the most-viewed American YouTube channel throughout the entire month of April, and no other contender is particularly close to ending that run of dominance. Kids Diana Show, the #2 finisher in this week's Us chart, received 583.5 million views, less than two-thirds of Cocomelon's seven-day total.
Last week's starred-and-striped runner-up, Like Nastya, dropped to #3; the vlog, which is aimed at young children, scored 574.9 million views over the measured period.

The top 50 most viewed YouTube channels of the week still include more hubs from India than from any other country, but for the fifth week in a row, it is an American channel that has claimed the top spot in our chart. Led by a Californian children's studio, the upper echelon of our ranking was mostly unchanged, with only two channels flip-flopping their positions in the top five.
Chart Toppers
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes received nearly three million more views this week than it did last week. While that would represent a massive upward trend for most channels on YouTube, it is just a drop in the bucket for the children's animation juggernaut.
