Deutsche Grammophon released all 22 Mozart operas in 2006 (Mozart's 250 birthyear) on dvd. (The M22 project)
Also this seldom performed "La Finta Semplice".
It is a sparse production; that takes it cues however from the movies of Quentin Tarantino.
To enliven the production the lenghty recitatives were replaced by narration by a character dressed as Uma Thurman in "Kill Bill part 1.
The production also features a stand-off scene as seen in "Reservoir Dogs" and a radiant brief-case scene as featured in "Pulp Fiction".
All in all, this dvd is a great introduction to this opera. In 2020, it is still the only "Finta Semplice" on dvd; so love or meh it; it's all we got...
