Exclusive: We can tell you that James Franco and Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones are leading the action thriller The Razor’s Edge from producer Corey Large and filmmaker Demian Lichtenstein (3000 Miles to Graceland).
Red Sea Media is handling international sales and will debut the film for buyers at the upcoming Marche du Film in Cannes. Cameras roll June 25 in Georgia.
Lichenstein is helming off a screenplay he wrote with Vance Duplechin. After a mob hitman vows to leave his deadly past behind, he faces an impossible choice when his daughter is kidnapped and the woman he loves becomes a target of the syndicate. He is forced to undertake one final, perilous mission while being pursued by an assassin even more lethal.
Pic is executive produced by Kirk Shaw. BondIt Media Capital is financing with Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor and Jordan Nott also executive producing.
“I’m excited that we have signed the superbly talented actors James, Suki and Tommy Lee to bring The Razor’s Edge to the big screen. They are perfectly suited to embody the protagonists in director Demian’s script,” said Large. “We cannot wait to begin filming this taut thriller next month with an assist from our seasoned executive producer Kirk,” he added.
“We’ve worked with Corey on over a dozen projects throughout the years and always appreciate his ability to get projects made in many different industry climates. We’re excited for another adventure here with Corey and his team,” commented Bond It Capital co-founder CEO Matthew Helderman.
Large is producing through his 308 Enterprises. His other feature production, Assassination directed by Rain Man Oscar winner Barry Levinson and starring Academy Award-winner Al Pacino and BAFTA winning Shia Labeouf is shooting this fall.
Franco was Oscar nominated for Best Actor for 127 Hours and is a 2x Golden Globe winner for James Dean, in which he played the title role, and took home Best Actor in Miniseries, and for The Disaster Artist which he won Best Actor Feature Comedy/Musical. He starred in Sony’s original Spider-Man trilogy from Sam Rami.
Oscar, Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe, and Palme d’Or winner Jones counts an Oscar and Golden Globe supporting actor win for The Fugitive and starred in Sony’s Men in Black trilogy. Jones won a Lead Actor Emmy for NBC’s The Executioners’ Song, and a Cannes Palme D’Or for Best Actor for Sony Pictures Classics’ The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada which he also directed. He also directed The Homesman which starred Hilary Swank.
Franco is represented by UTA and Anonymous Content, Jones is represented by CAA and Jacobson, Russell, Saltz, Nassim & De La Torre.

Kevin Smith’s new film, The 4:30 Movie, has been shot and has now been snapped up for distribution worldwide: more here.
Rest is not on the agenda for Kevin Smith, who in recent times has invested in the cinema he frequented when he was younger, rebranding it The Smodcastle Cinemas. He co-owns the site, and also shot a film there by the name of The 4:30 Movie.
Starring Austin Zajur, Nicholas Cirillo and Reed Northrup, The 4:30 Movie is described as a 1986-set comedy of age comedy, centred on three 16-year old chums who sneak into the movies every Saturday. What’s this, though? One of them, one day, invites a girl? Honestly. Tsk. Etc. She’s played by Siena Agudong, and also in the cast are Justin Long, Harley Quinn Smith, Keon Jeong and Jason Lee.

From man-eating beds to serial-killing gingerbread cookies, there’s no shortage of absurd premises in the horror genre. However, not all of these weird movies are created equal, and I’d argue that a silly premise is only half the battle when crafting a legitimately entertaining piece of absurdist genre cinema. Personally, I think that the very best of these strange projects succeed because they take an utterly ridiculous concept and play it completely straight, often revealing unexpected terrors as filmmakers show us worlds where tumors can go homicidal and mad scientists can stitch people into human centipedes.
One of my favorite examples of this kind of cinematic absurdity done right is Kevin Smith’s controversial horror-comedy Tusk, a divisive feature that’s almost equally loved and hated by the horror community. And with the flick currently celebrating its 10th anniversary, I thought that this might be a great time...

There was a time when Kevin Smith was regarded as being one of the definitive filmmakers of Generation X. His feature directing debut on the shoestring-budgeted 1994 indie hit "Clerks" suggested Smith not only had a firm understanding of the slacker mentality that afflicted so many people in his age bracket, but he was also shrewd enough to be critical of it. The film centers on disgruntled Quick Stop Groceries clerk Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) and those in his immediate vicinity, including his equally-cynical, unmotivated best friend Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson) and the off-beat drug dealers that loiter outside the store: loud-mouthed horny miscreant Jay (Jason Mewes) and his reserved yet secretly wise companion Silent Bob (Smith). As colorful as these characters were, they also felt like real people you could imagine Smith knew growing up on his home turf of New Jersey.

Last month, Kevin Smith revealed that he “lost a bet” to his frequent collaborator Jason Mewes and as a result had started writing the script for a third Jay and Silent Bob movie (following Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot) – but while Reboot was very similar to Strike Back, this time he’s working to keep the sequel unpredictable. So we won’t be seeing Jay and Silent Bob hitting the road to stop the production of a Bluntman and Chronic movie again. This one will have a different set-up – and Smith has given an idea of what the plot will be in a new social media post! He also promised that, unlike Clerks III, this movie won’t be killing off any beloved characters.
Smith wrote, “2024 marks the 30th anniversary of my first film Clerks – which means that it’s also the 30th...

A24 has a reputation as one of the coolest indie movie “brands” today.
Through dozens of films, they have established themselves as arbiters of extremely good taste, maintaining relationships with their favorite filmmakers while taking big swings on new talent. They have also shown themselves to be crack marketers of their own product (how many boutique film studios inspire young fans to sweat sweatshirts emblazoned with their logo?)
This brand awareness is quite powerful. Younger filmgoers know an A24 movie when they see them; and they go see movies because the studio is behind them. This knowingness, a contract between the studio and the audience, extends to A24’s horror output, which is even more easily identifiable. “It’s an A24 horror movie,” you’ll say. And whoever you’re talking to will know exactly what you mean. Maybe it’s a little folksy, maybe it’s a little techy,...

Four years after the characters headlined Jay & Silent Bob: Reboot, Kevin Smith is plotting the next chapter for the stoner duo.
Filmmaker Kevin Smith has revealed that he’s working on another film featuring the characters Jay & Silent Bob, the latter of which he also plays onscreen.
The two lovable stoners have featured in Smith’s films ever since the director made his filmmaking debut with Clerks in 1994. The duo’s most recent headlining film came four years ago in the form of Jay & Silent Bob: Reboot.
He did a podcast special with us about that very film, here.
Smith has made a habit in recent years of returning to his stable of ‘View Askewniverse’ characters.

Ready to relive all the best moments from that nostalgic Quick Stop convenience store? We can pretty much guarantee that there won't be a better way to watch the entire "Clerks" trilogy, short of marathoning them with Kevin Smith himself. Incredibly enough, the beloved franchise was capped by last year's extremely meta "Clerks III." Following the exploits of Randal (Jeff Anderson) and Dante (Brian O'Halloran), the threequel completes the story of the two best friends and their attempts to basically make the first "Clerks" movie, based on their own experiences in the "Clerks" universe. It's hilarious, heart-warming, and oh-so-personal, as /Film's Danielle Ryan reviewed at the time.

Last year, Kevin Smith brought us a new installment in the "Clerks" film series, the comedy franchise that began with a black-and-white indie gem at the Sundance Film Festival back in 1994. "Clerks III" was the filmmaker's most meta chapter of the View Askewniverse yet, and after "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back," that's saying something. The film follows Randal (Jeff Anderson) wanting to do something more significant with his life, which leads him to write and direct a movie about the time he's spent with his best friend Dante (Brian O'Halloran) as a clerk at both the Quick Stop convenience store and the Mooby's fast food restaurant. Basically, it's a movie about Kevin Smith making the original "Clerks" but set within the "Clerks" cinematic universe.

"Tusk" was a theatrical experience that I will never forget. The trailer did not give much away, and it was difficult to tell whether Kevin Smith was aiming for parody or serious horror. Was this really about someone being held captive by a seaman with an affinity for walruses? The idea for "Tusk" began with a SModcast episode where Smith and his friend/producer Scott Mosier poked fun at a classified advertisement made by a homeowner who offered free lodging to someone if they dressed as a walrus for two hours a day. The strange, real-life story inspired a brainstorming session about how they might bring the story to life on film.
"I could have easily just been like, 'Oh, that was a stupid stoner idea that I won't follow through on,' but, I don't know, there seemed to be a lot of nobility in taking a stoner idea...

Duck Dynasty and the Metropolitan Opera are two very different cultural phenomena, but they have at least one thing in common: Fathom Events, the unique and prolific theatrical distributor based in Denver.
Over the past 20 years, Fathom has mastered the art of finding audiences for one-off cinematic events, from live broadcasts of opera, stage plays and live concert pics to anniversary rereleases of classic Hollywood films. A groundbreaking partnership with The Metropolitan Opera put Fathom on the map. Launched in 2006, The Met: Live in HD program, which sees about 10 operas a year beamed into theaters on Saturdays and Wednesdays, has generated more than $205 million in box office sales and consistently lands on a weekend’s top 10 list.
The company has also made a big impression in the faith-based and anime spaces (again, two disparate genres). Fathom ranked No. 9 on the list of top distributors at the 2022 domestic box office, with...

Actors and writers are the ones walking picket lines, but the dual-strikes’ collateral damage can be felt all the way to the sound booths. Without actors, the Adr mixing that can work magic in the editing room is D.O.A.
Adr, which stands for automated dialogue replacement, is the process by which actors re-record dialogue after production. If done properly, the new audio can be seamlessly spliced into the movie as though it was the track from the original on-set take. Though it’s sometimes a last resort in the interest of preserving a performance, Adr is a common means of replacing a “dirty line,” or one corrupted by unwanted background noise. It also helps to fill in the gaps if a story needs to be tweaked without dramatic edits — or God forbid, reshoots.
But with performers on strike, sound engineers and mixers also find themselves on the sidelines.

Kevin Smith returned to Quick Stop Groceries with Clerks III last year, which brought back a lot of characters from the View Askewniverse. Rosario Dawson returned as Becky Scott, but a tragic twist meant that her character died in between the two Clerks movies. It is often said that the secret to becoming a successful entrepreneur is finding a need and filling it. When Santa Monica-based BondIt Media Capital launched in 2013, it zeroed in on the deposits productions must leave with SAG-AFTRA, DGA, IATSE and other guilds to ensure that their members get paid in a timely fashion.
The company co-founders — CEO Matthew Helderman and COO Luke Taylor — knew from their experience working in the production trenches that these deposits, which sometimes take up to six months to be returned, can create a significant cash flow problem for low-budget projects during principal photography.
So they decided to offer a deal: producers would pay the unions, then BondIt would reimburse their cash outlay, minus a fee (typically 12%-15%), and collect the deposits when they were returned.
It wasn’t exciting, it wasn’t big-time, but it was a foot in the door.

Kevin Smith has revealed that he took a monthlong break last January to get treatment for his mental health. After recognizing that he was dealing with trauma stemming from childhood sexual abuse and body dysmorphia, which spurred what he described to People as a “complete break from reality,” the filmmaker checked into Arizona’s Sierra Tucson treatment center. Smith said he felt suicidal and asked a friend to help him get treatment.
Smith told the magazine that when he was 6, an older boy forced him into sex acts with a young girl.

Kevin Smith has revealed that he went through a “complete break from reality” back in January that led to him seeking mental health treatment.
The filmmaker and actor opened up about the experience in a new interview with People, during which Smith also spoke about the childhood traumas that led to him overcompensating with a “larger than life” public persona he describes as “the other guy.”
“At that moment, I wouldn’t have been averse to not being around any longer,” Smith said about the mental health break. “I called a friend and said, ‘I’m in a weird, dark place. I need to go somewhere and get help.'” That somewhere was the Sierra Tucson treatment center in Arizona, where he spent the next month.

Lionsgate is by no means the biggest studio in Hollywood. The house of the "John Wick," "Saw" and "Hunger Games" franchises is what is known in the industry is a mini-major, meaning it's not as big as Disney or Warner Bros., but not as small as Neon or STX. It's somewhere in the middle. Be that as it may, as the industry continues to emerge from the pandemic, Lionsgate is putting together a winning strategy, as evidenced by the company's most recent quarterly earnings report. In short, it's because they're not playing the same, big streaming game that everyone else is playing.
For the company's third quarter of its current fiscal year, revenue hit 1 billion, absolutely smashing Wall Street expectations. Part of that has to do with Starz, which Lionsgate owns (we'll get to that), but what's most interesting is what wasn't on the sheet driving that revenue. For one,...

In collaboration with “Clerks” mastermind Kevin Smith, Logic’s newest music video for his stoner anthem “Highlife” reunites the film’s cast. The video features Logic as the star at the original New Jersey Quick Stop set.
“Clerks” (1994) follows clerks Dante and Randal’s daily debauchery at a New Jersey convenience store. “Clerks II” premiered in 2006 and “Clerks III” in 2022. All of the “Clerks” films, along with Smith’s other works such as “Mallrats” (1995), “Chasing Amy” (1997) and “Dogma” (1999), are part of his fictional universe, referred to as “View Askewniverse.”
The music video’s cast includes Smith as Silent Bob, Brian O’Halloran as Dante, Jeff Anderson as Randal, Jason Mewes as Jay, Matt Ranieri as Mooby and Ernie O’Donnell as Trainer.
Logic has long admired Kevin Smith’s work. Smith direct messaged the rapper on Instagram to join “Clerks III,” but the rapper missed the alert. Once the creators did connect,...

Well Schmoes, as 2022 finally draws to a close we reflect on a year unlike any other in our lifetimes. We finally got back to a pretty normal theatrical schedule from the studios, but streaming still had a lot t offer as well. If there is one thing for sure, there are always movies that are highly overrated and underrated by critics and fans alike. As the UnPopular Opinion Guy, I felt it was only fitting to issue my list of the movies I felt that the masses got wrong. Some of these may shock you and some may just piss you off, but these are my honest-to-goodness perspective of the movies of 2022. If you disagree with any of the choices, please voice your own opinion in the comments below. After all, the only opinion that really matters is yours, and I am just here to share mine.

The killer moose movie Moose Jaws has been brewing in the mind of Kevin Smith for several years now. The project, which has always been described as simply “Jaws with a moose“, was meant to wrap up Smith’s True North Trilogy, which began with Tusk and continued with Yoga Hosers… but for some reason, it has proven to be more difficult to get Moose Jaws into production than its predecessors. The Moose Jaws problem may have been solved, as during a recent convention appearance Smith gave a positive update on the long-awaited horror film.
Speaking at GalaxyCon in Columbus, Ohio, Smith revealed that Moose Jaws is expected to be one of the next five movies he makes and will be a continuation of the working relationship he has established with Lionsgate. As he explained, “(Moose Jaws) is a movie I’ve been threatening to make for a long time,...

“Bros” (Universal Pictures Home Entertainment): The comedy that carried the weight of so many competing expectations that it’s a miracle it exists at all, “Bros” is the queer zeitgeist moment that gave away a few too many gay secrets to the straight audiences who saw it, but for better or worse, those secrets were delightfully funny. Co-writer Billy Eichner stars as a gay man indifferent to love but still open to possibilities when a traditional handsome jock (Luke Macfarlane) enters the picture. It turns out both of them have been traumatized by the homophobic world around them, but they figure it out in “When Harry Met Sally…” style by the end. That’s not a spoiler; all rom-coms end that way.

A big chunk of the magic of the "Clerks" franchise is the back-and-forth between its titular clerks, Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson). The two can bicker about almost anything, from independent contractors working on the Death Star in "Star Wars" to the logic of going to a video rental store when you work in one, and their banter is always a lot of fun. The two characters have grown over the years, but they're still arguing the day away in the trilogy-ending "Clerks III," now available to buy or rent on home video. Not only have the dorky duo starred in three "Clerks" films and a cartoon series, but they were also the stars of a short film called "The Flying Car" that debuted on Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show" back in 2002.

Clerks Star Jeff Anderson Has An Idea For Randal To Make The Perfect Cameo In Mallrats 2 [Exclusive]
Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson have been in plenty of films over the years, but most people know them best as Dante Hicks and Randal Graves in Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse films, in particular, his "Clerks" trilogy. Smith skyrocketed to superstardom after his 1994 breakout hit, "Clerks," which perfectly encapsulated the budding Gen X slacker culture of the 1990s. Dante is dragged into covering a shift at the Quick Stop mini-mart on his day off, putting up with the hijinks of customers, friends, random degenerates in the neighborhood, and ultra-slacker Randal, who doesn't even make an attempt to actually work at the Rst Video rental store next door. The film was a massive success, spawning two sequels, an animated series, a live-action TV pilot, and a making-of documentary.

"Clerks III" arrives on 4K Uhd, Blu-ray, and DVD today, bringing the emotionally charged comedy sequel home so you can enjoy a laugh and shed a tear over and over again. Inspired by writer/director Kevin Smith's real-life brush with death, the movie may be more intimate and personal than any other film in the director's career. But even beyond that, "Clerks III" acts a nostalgic reflection upon the franchise that gave Smith the legacy in pop culture that he continues to this day. Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson have been there since Day 1 playing the titular workers Dante and Randal, and now they're here at what may or may not be the end for these characters.
In honor of the home video release of "Clerks III," we had a spoiler-filled discussion with the franchise's stars to find out as much as we could about making this emotional chapter in Kevin Smith's filmography.

In Kevin Smith's 1994 breakout comedy hit "Clerks," Gen X slacker and Quick Stop employee Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) and his friend Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson) — who works at Rst Video, the video rental store next door — spend most of their days playing hockey on the Quick Stop rooftop, shooting the s*** about the pop culture they love, and, every so often, actually doing their jobs. By the time we catch up with the pair 28 years later in "Clerks III," not much has changed until, naturally, everything does.
Where 2006's "Clerks II" saw Smith turn the irreverent lens of his View Askewniverse onto the fast food industry, "Clerks III" finds him looking inward. Its story begins with Randal suffering a near-fatal heart attack, an event that inspires him to make a movie about his and Dante's lives at the Quick Stop. Dante (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson), the reluctant leaders of the slacker generation are back with "Clerks III," a surprisingly personal film from Kevin Smith to cap off his Quick Stop trilogy. Shot on a shoestring budget in stark black and white, the original "Clerks" was part of the new school of American indie cinema during the '90s, a fully self-aware decade that wasn't afraid to hold up a pop culture mirror to comment on a new breed of kids that had zero motivation and A Lot of attitude. Smith's conversational style made "Clerks" feel like we were hanging out with our deadbeat friends, somehow having the time of our lives having deathly serious conversations about the innocent deaths of independent contractors aboard the Death Star. The sequel, aptly named "Clerks II," showed how the corporatization of America helped to destroy the rebellious spirits of Dante and Randal,...

A couple months ago, Kevin Smith announced that he will be making a sequel 2014 horror film Tusk (watch it Here) for the film’s tenth anniversary, a sequel that he’s planning to call Tusk. And that’s not the only horror sequel he has in the works. A Sunday evening in 2018: Kevin Smith was sweating profusely. The director had been feeling nauseous, too, but he’d put that down to the fact he was in the middle of filming two stand-up sets for a special. And then, in his dressing room at the Alex Theater in Glendale, California, he collapsed on the floor and vomited all over the tiles. At Glendale Memorial Hospital, Smith learnt he’d suffered a massive heart attack known as the “widow-maker”. Smith’s doctor put his chances of survival at 17 per cent. “I know I’m lucky,” says the 52-year-old director, down the line from Chicago. “For the last five years I’ve been meeting people who’ll say: ‘Oh, my brother had your widow-maker.’ ‘How’s he doing?’ ‘He’s dead.’ It really just comes down to chance.”
In fact, as heart attacks go, Smith’s didn’t turn out so bad.

Happy Halloween, fellow box office aficionados. Famously, Halloween weekend has not been a huge one for the movie business, but a horror movie or two can slip in and make some solid dough. This past weekend, Lionsgate tried to slip the exorcism flick "Prey for the Devil" through the cracks as the spooky season offering. It didn't exactly pan out, as Warner Bros.' superhero movie "Black Adam" easily topped the charts again in its second weekend. Though, even that movie's earnings up to this point leaves room for discussion. Let's dig into the numbers, shall we?
"Black Adam" reigned supreme in the #1 spot for the second week in a row domestically, taking in 27.7 million, according to Box Office Mojo. That represents a pretty steep 58.7 drop from week-to-week, which is a whole lot more than Warner Bros. would have liked for the long-awaited Dwayne Johnson DC Comics adaptation. Tony Stark in “Captain America” asked, “Can you help a brother out?” For “Bros,” it turns out that, as was hoped, the help came from PVOD rentals.
The groundbreaking studio gay rom-com failed to gross 12 million in U.S./Canada results. Its failure generated much social media chit-chat, making it one of the best-known recent flops.
But it is the kind of release that benefits from Universal’s PVOD release policy (at 19.99) for most films after the third weekend: strong niche appeal, older audience, decent reviews, with an interest that might have been heightened by post-opening negative media about its performance.
“Bros” is either No. 2 or No. 3. That’s not sensational, but actually quite good for a studio release that fared this poorly in theaters. Whether the studio erred financially by not skipping theaters and the high marketing cost is uncertain. But to make a dent in their investment (22 million...

“Clerks III” (Lionsgate/14.99) is the only major new entry in a week dominated by lower-priced non-pvod films. And its trajectory here tells a tale of how things have changed since Kevin Smith broke out in 1994 with the original “Clerks.”
The new film was released October 14 for home viewing. That accounts for it missing out as No. 1 on Vudu, which ranks by revenue and includes four days before its release, as well as its absence on Google Play, which lags a few days behind other charts.
The original film 28 years ago celebrated video store culture at a time not only before streaming or video on demand unknown but prior to even DVDs. Fifteen years into video store culture, it conveyed an acceptance of a natural order of things — movies play theaters, then half a year later VHS rentals start, and they move to premium cable more than a year later.

Kevin Smith is an incredibly busy guy. In addition to recording his plethora of podcasts, writing stories for his new comic book imprint, and appearing at conventions and pop-ups around the world, he's still making movies and touring with them, which is what he's currently doing with "Clerks III." On top of all that, he also owns an excellent comic book store in Red Bank, New Jersey. Although, that isn't the only business that the acclaimed filmmaker is running these days.
Earlier this year, Smith became a co-owner of the Atlantic Moviehouse in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. This was the theater that the filmmaker frequented with his family as a child while he was growing up in the Garden State. Now rebranded as Smodcastle Cinemas, the theater is set to include a View Askew merch store in the lobby, a "film school camp" for young people with movie-making aspirations, and...

Back in the heady days of the second wave of superhero movies, after Batman & Robin but before the MCU, the biggest nerd in Hollywood wasn’t Kevin Feige, nor even producer Avi Arad. No, it was Kevin Smith, who filled laid-back and dialogue-heavy movies such as Clerks and Dogma with pontifications about wage-earners on the Death Star and the sexual habits of the Fantastic Four. Smith even gave Stan Lee a cameo in 1995’s Mallrats, before X-Men and Spider-Man put the head of the Merry Marvel Marching Society in a movie.
Over the years, Smith has been connected to superhero properties in one way or another, whether it’s writing a script for the ill-fated Superman Lives (leading to this legendary story about Jon Peters) or writing Daredevil, Green Arrow, and Batman comics. More recently, Smith has directed a few superheroes, filming several episodes of The Flash and Supergirl.

Across its 48-season runtime, "Saturday Night Live" has had at least as many bad sketches as it has great ones. For every "More Cowboy" or "Debbie Downer," there's something equally forgettable or mediocre. Sometimes, sketches that are done in bad taste reach their own level of infamy, like the pedophile joke-riddled "Canteen Boy" or the wildly racist one-off "The History of Vaudeville." Rarely, the worst sketches don't make it to air at all, nixed sometime during the week when it becomes clear that they just aren't going to land right with audiences.
According to former assistant costume designer Allison Pearce, at least one such "Saturday Night Live" sketch almost happened in the 2010s, and it's a concept that will probably stay locked in the vault forever. /Film writer Jack Giroux recently spoke with Pearce about her work as a costume designer on "Clerks III," and the conversation ended up steering...

With the recent release of “Clerks III,” Kevin Smith finally saw one of his longest-gestating passion projects come to fruition. But the director still has plenty of other films on his bucket list and he appears to be focused on completing them. He recently expressed hope that he can make sequels to “Mallrats” and “Tusk” in the near future, and it appears that fans might get to see his long-scrapped Prince documentary soon.
In his 2002 special “An Evening with Kevin Smith,” the filmmaker revealed that he had spent a week interviewing the “Purple Rain” singer for a potential documentary. While the planned concert film the two men were working on never materialized, Smith hopes the footage may soon be repurposed.
“Very high,” Smith told The Guardian when asked about the likelihood of his documentary footage seeing the light of day. “The director of ‘Oj: Made in America’ is making a...
