Next week, Anderson Cooper joins the ranks of celebs who have taken on the role of “Jeopardy!” guest host following Alex Trebek’s passing. And to make sure Cooper, who previously competed on four games of “Jeopardy! Power Players Week,” is actually ready for his two-week turn behind the host podium, Jimmy Kimmel thought he’d make Cooper re-answer the questions he previously got wrong when he stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday.
And, as you’ll see the segment above, he gets two out of three correct this time around, which is good, because Kimmel says the “Jeopardy” producers were not going to let him host otherwise.
“I crushed it the first time,” Cooper told Kimmel of his “Jeopardy!” days, detailing how he crammed the night before his initial round on “Power Players.” “The second time, I was playing against Cheech Marin, and I was like, oh my God,...

For the first time in a while, Netflix is adding no new titles today, so let’s instead take the opportunity to recap what’s gone up on the streaming site over the past week, from Saturday, August 1st to Saturday, August 8th. As that encompasses the first day of the month, there was a huge amount of fresh content added to Netflix’s library over this period. To be exact, there were 49 movies and 24 TV shows.
On the film side of things, this haul includes many an acclaimed or cult favorite flick from across the decades in all kinds of genres. The highlight is probably the entire Jurassic Park trilogy, which has proved popular with Netflix users as the first two entries have been hanging around the top 10 most-watched movies list almost ever since arriving. 80s classic fantasy flick The NeverEnding Story and its sequel were added on the 1st as well,...

Spain-based leading European kids producer Planeta Junior has acquired a stake in Zag Entertainment, the banner behind the popular “Miraculous” franchise.
The deal, which marks a new step in the long-lasting relationship between both companies, is estimated at €300 million ($353 million), according to a source close to the pact. The amount of the stake acquired by the Spanish group was not disclosed, but the source said the pact gives Planeta Junior the possibility of increasing its stake progressively over the next four years for up to 49% of Zag Entertainment.
The two companies will also be joining forces on the production of TV content and films, kicking off with a $70 million budget animated feature based on “Miraculous” which was previously set up at Skydance Media. A global hit franchise boasting one of the only major girls-skewing superhero figures, “Miraculous” just lured Disney Plus and Disney Channel, which have boarded two mini-movies based on the IP.

Now that we’re two thirds of the way through July, we’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s coming to Netflix next month. New titles are being added all the time and while some days remain lacking in content at present, on the whole we know what to expect on the streaming service in August. As always, there’s a huge variety, too, from foreign titles to documentaries to new TV series to much-anticipated Netflix originals.
Some of the more notable additions to the line-up that have been added since it was first announced last week include 2003’s Seabiscuit, the jockey drama starring Tobey Maguire, and the next season of Transformers Rescue Bots Academy, both coming on the first day of the month. And remember, this is far from the full list of new arrivals for August, as it only encompasses what’s been announced so far,...

We’re only halfway through July, but we already know much of what’s coming to Netflix in August. Obviously, plenty more titles will be announced as the month draws nearer, but there’s still a bunch of highly anticipated movies and TV shows already on the schedule.
Just today, we got our first trailer for one of them – the streaming giant’s new superhero action flick, Project Power, starring Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, that’s based around a mysterious pill that imbues whoever takes it with superpowers for a total of five minutes. That’s dropping on August 14th.
Before that, however, the first day of the month brings Killing Hasselhoff, Netflix’s new comedy movie starring David Hasselhoff himself and Ken Jeong as a nightclub owner who has to resort to desperate measures to pay off a loan shark. It was originally supposed to land on July...
