Reprise is based on a script written over a five-year period by Danish-born Norwegian-raised director Joachim Trier and screenwriter Eskil Vogt.
A "reprise" is a repetition, a re-run, or a return to an earlier event, so the best guess is that this movie is about trying to return to something that happened in the past. Erik [Espen Klouman Høiner] tries to encourage Phillip [Anders Danielsen Lie], who once was a successful writer, to write again. Meanwhile, Phillip is trying to get his ruined relationship with Kari [Viktoria Winge] to start from the beginning again.
