The therapist says to Magnum, "You can't even look me square in the eye." Magnum disagrees, closes his left eye and looks at him. This is repeated in a later scene with Carol. Tom Selleck's left eye is slightly lazy so that it doesn't always appear that both eyes are looking at the same thing.
As part of Magnum's role-swapping with Higgins, he doesn't drive the Ferrari and is thinking about buying Carol's VW Golf Cabriolet. Beyond the contrast with the Ferrari, VW is manufactured by the same company as Audi, which is the brand of car Higgins drives. Interestingly, Tom Selleck is too tall to drive the Ferrari with the top up (except when contorting for the rare top-up shots), and when the top is down his eyes are level with the visors, but John Hillerman is the perfect size for the car.
Led by Gloria Estefan, "Conga" (1985) was the first hit single released by the Cuban-American band Miami Sound Machine.
This is the first time that a scene takes place in Higgins' bedroom, which is actually smaller than Magnum's.
