Xbox had seen a drop in fans after leaks and rumors about Xbox going third-party. But in the latest Xbox Direct, Phil Spencer made it clear that Xbox is not leaving the console business. It is just branching out into the multi-platform video game publishing business as well.
This has been met with manifold angry fan reactions that flooded the gaming communities on X, Reddit, etc. A large part of that anger was however not directed at Xbox or Microsoft Gaming. Instead the apparent ‘leakers’ got most of the blame for turning the Xbox community inside out for the sake of clicks and user engagement.
Fan reactions to the Xbox Direct just went on to show, that fans are starting to come to the conclusion that no leak should be trusted until official confirmation, yet again.
Xbox Direct Puts an End To Fan Speculation
The recently concluded Xbox Direct made one thing certain.

Norman Reedus returns as Sam in the gameplay trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
During last night’s State Of Play, one of the biggest surprises was the gameplay trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2. And blimey, what a trailer that is.
Firstly, the game is now called Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Secondly, it looks freaky as heck.
Take a look at 9-minute gameplay trailer for Death Stranding 2:
Is that a baby… in a body cavity? Well, that’s me sold on the game.
Death Stranding 2 was initially announced at the 2022 Game Awards, but it’s been a long road to get here. Kojima reportedly rewrote the entire game at one point after the pandemic.
The trailer finds Sam working for a mysterious civilian outfit called the Drawbridge and being shown around by Léa Seydoux’s Fragile. As Sam heads out into the world,...

A New Year means lots of removals from Netflix and January 1st is looking busy, with over 100 movies set to leave the service already. Below, we’ll be keeping track of all the Netflix departures for the first month of 2024.
First, a few housekeeping notes as to how Netflix removals work before we dive in. Due to licensing agreements, shows and movies added to Netflix aren’t added forever. Instead, they’re essentially rented for a fixed period. All the shows below have their current window on Netflix ending and will likely be bound for a rival streaming service.
We list titles slightly differently from other outlets, with our listings being the actual day of removal. If you want to watch any titles scheduled to expire on January 1st, for example, you’ll need to watch by the end of December 31st.

And you thought you couldn’t keep up with streaming in the summer of 2021.
Over the past two years, the number of titles (movies and TV series) available across streaming services in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Germany, and Mexico has grown by about 40 percent, from roughly 1.7 million to nearly 2.4 million, according to Nielsen and Gracenote’s new “State of Play” study. The tally of titles on linear television — broadcast and cable — have actually more than doubled, though the overwhelming majority (almost 87 percent) of total unique titles reside on streaming services.
In July 2021, broadcast, cable, and streaming combined for almost 1.9 million unique titles. As of June 2023, per the new study, there were a bit more than 2.7 million across all of the major delivery systems. This has created an even greater analysis paralysis: 20 percent of respondents reported not knowing what to watch on streaming and an inability to find something...

In 1973, the killer of Welsh teenagers Sandra Newton, Pauline Flynn and Gwendoline Hughes was not caught, despite a high-profile and widespread investigation by South Wales Police. The girls’ families spent the next three decades not knowing who was responsible for brutally taking the lives of their loved ones, or whether he still lived alongside them in the local Neath and Port Talbot communities.
In 2002, a development in forensics changed everything. The cold case was reopened with much pared-down resources, and crime scene DNA was successfully used to identify Wales’ first recorded serial killer. Steeltown Murders is the story of the loss, guilt and suspicion that followed the 1970s murders, and of the perseverance of the officers who were eventually able to provide the victims’ families with the answers they’d been denied years before.
Here are the actors making up the cast behind Steeltown Murders‘ dramatisation of real-life figures and events.

Rachel McAdams had been anointed Hollywood's latest "It Girl" when she was tapped to grace the cover of Vanity Fair's 2006 Oscar issue alongside Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson. She was coming off a string of critical and commercial successes in "Mean Girls," "The Notebook," "Red Eye" and "The Family Stone," and appeared to be on the cusp of superstardom. But when McAdams learned, upon arriving at the Tom Ford photoshoot, that she was expected to pose nude, she walked, promptly fired her publicist (who'd failed to inform her of the shoot's parameters), and pressed the pause button on her film career.
Prior to the #MeToo revolution, firing up double rockets at the exploitative Hollywood movie star machine was considered career suicide. This was how women got smeared with the "difficult" label. McAdams, however, persevered and has established herself as one of the most brilliantly unpredictable actors of her generation. She's...

“Air,” which opened in wide theatrical release on Wednesday and stars Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Viola Davis, Chris Tucker and Jason Bateman, details how a then-underdog Nike bet its footwear future on then-rookie Michael Jordan. The film dramatizes boardroom pitches and frantic business phone calls into a tale of how capitalism was pretzeled into supplying fortune and glory to members of a demographic rarely on the receiving end.
So it makes sense that the Skydance and Mandalay-produced film is the first from Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity. One of the selling points of the venture is a promise of profit participation for both above-the-line stars and below-the-line artists. The Hollywood titans dipped into their own fees, along with money saved during production via artist-driven efficiency, to create a discretionary bonus system, insiders told TheWrap.

Rashaad Ernesto Green will direct “’68,” a biopic about the careers and lives of Olympic runners and activists Tommie Smith and John Carlos for MGM, Participant and MacRo.
MGM announced news of the project Thursday, which tells the story of Smith and Carlos from their first meeting on the track team at San Jose State to the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. As the two received medals for the 200 meter race, they raised their fists in salute and silent protest during the American national anthem. The event caused widespread controversy at the time, and is still regarded as one of the most political moments in the history of the Olympics.
“Still incredibly powerful and relevant, I’m honored for the opportunity to bring Tommie and John’s riveting story to life; to portray the weight of the world these two giants had on their shoulders and the self-determination, courage and sacrifice...

Premature filmmaker Rashaad Ernesto Green is set to helm Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), Participant and MacRo’s feature movie ’68 inspired by the true story of Olympians Tommie Smith and John Carlos. The track athletes from San Jose State rose to become Olympic medalists and activists at the 1968 Games in Mexico City. That’s where they both raised their fists in solidarity and in support of human rights.
The screenplay is by Oscar nominated scribe Billy Ray. Participant and MacRo will produce the project, along with Stacy Sherman.
Participant will be incorporating ’68 into its ongoing impact work dedicated to civil rights and social justice. Carlos’ nephews, Airrion and Shaun McCoy, and DeLois Smith, the wife of Tommie Smith, are co-producing.
Bronx-born filmmaker Green received the Independent Spirit Someone to Watch Award in 2020 for his second feature directorial, Premature, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews. Shot in Harlem, New York entirely on 16mm film,...

Rashaad Ernesto Green will direct the feature film “68,” inspired by the true story of the Olympians who gave the black power salute on the podium, MGM, Participant and MacRo announced on Thursday.
Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Billy Ray wrote the script that centers on sprinters Tommie Smith and John Carlos and chronicles their lives from track athletes at San Jose State to Olympic medalists and activists at the 1968 Games in Mexico City, where Smith and Carlos both raised their fists in solidarity and in support of human rights.
“Still incredibly powerful and relevant, I’m honored for the opportunity to bring Tommie and John’s riveting story to life; to portray the weight of the world these two giants had on their shoulders and the self-determination, courage and sacrifice it took for them to stand up for all of us,” Green said in a statement.

Filmmaker Theo Love is directing “Treasure Hunters,” a documentary feature based on the New York Magazine article “The Great 21st-Century Treasure Hunt.”
Netflix will distribute the documentary, with Vox Media Studios and Nomadica Films set to produce.
Benjamin Wallace wrote the article that inspired the non-fiction film, which was published in November of 2020. The lengthy read captures an epic 10-year “sometimes maddening, occasionally deadly, brainscrambling” search for gold in the Rockies.
The documentary’s official logline reads: “‘Treasure Hunters’ follows the true story of Forrest Fenn, an art collector, who buried a $2 million treasure in 2010 filled with rare gold coins in an unknown location with 24 cryptic verses offering the only hint to its whereabouts. More than 400,000 searched for it, including five people who died. Finally, this past June, a former journalist named Jack Stuef came forward claiming to have found it. So why does no one believe him? Is the treasure still out there somewhere?...
