A romantic trip to Capri
Norinella22 August 2007
This comment applies to Capri 1, the first season. The second season is MARKEDLY different and introduces new characters.: A glorious, long visit to Capri, full of funny, warm characters, nasty, sneaky schemers, gorgeous men and women, and fabulous clothes and food. The story involves a young woman from Milan, Vittoria Mari, who, one month before she is to be married, discovers she has been named as a beneficiary in the will of a woman she has never met. She travels to the island to find out why, becomes entwined in the lives of the people she meets, and learns something shocking about her past. It's funny and sensual, sometimes heartbreaking. I'm still sighing over the deliciousness of it, after watching all 12 episodes (each one is about 1 1/2 hours) on RaiClick. NOBODY does romantic tension like the Italians. Each episode furthers the main story, but there are all sorts of romantic subplots that usually get wrapped up within one or two episodes. Some actors are better than others, but it will take me a LONG time to get Kaspar Capparoni out of my head. Let's just call him the Italian Mr. Darcy and be done with it. It's all in Italian, with no subtitles. The second season is darker and less joyous, and the character of Daiana is beefed up and, strangely, played by a different person. The story line has quite a different feel and so far (I'm only halfway through the episodes), it can't hold a candle to the first.

past, present, love affairs , meetings and disputes.and interesting characters. friendship and romanticism, slices of soup opera and a not bad script. that could be a drawing of series. but the important detail remains its virtue to be an Italian series. and the identity change all. not only for performance or the director solutions but for a special spirits who gives to story a personal flavor. a series about dramatic decisions and not wise options in a splendid place. a lot of characters and Lucia Bose performance as Dona Isabella. not different by many other Italian series, it has the rare gift to be a precise web for viewer who explores details and opportunities to present a touching drama who transforms an isle in large scene for searches of a young woman in clothes of important change of her life.that is all. short - a seductive series.
