Ryan Reynolds’ career before Deadpool was that of a talented actor, but he hadn’t yet achieved Hollywood A-list status. That turning point came with Deadpool. Iron Man with its debut in 2008 had already shown the industry the immense potential of a superhero franchise, and Reynolds understood that he needed to secure such a role to elevate his career to that level.

When Logan came out in 2017, James Mangold had to age up Hugh Jackman to play an old man Wolverine. Seven years later, Jackman breaks his rule of returning to a character for a special case, but he would only be older. The Aussie had occupied the character since the genesis of the modern run of superhero movies at the turn of the millennium. Deadpool & Wolverine is a welcomed return for Jackman to the X-Men world, and it amazingly still makes sense despite the fandom already saying goodbye to him as the character years ago.
However, playing an intensely feral character for 24 years has made this last go much more difficult for Jackman. Especially with his older age. Deadline reports on an interview People Magazine had with Deadpool & Wolverine stars, Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. Jackman admits, “When I came back to it, it was really fun and I was thrilled.

What connects the daughter of a pastor, a resistance leader, and a vampire hunter? They're all the same person.
From a 90's tween star to a full-blown worldwide movie star, Jessica Biel has paved her way through the entertainment industry for thirty years.
The actress has been known for a variety of roles in various genres, making her a household name with both small and big screen appearances.
It's no wonder Jessica Biel has amassed six award wins and nineteen nominations, including the Critic's Choice, Golden Globes, and the Emmys.
She's dipped her toes in comedy, action, and, most significantly, drama, making a name for herself as a versatile actress who fully embodies her characters.
While not every role Jessica Biel takes turns into a smash hit, they're still each great in their own way, whether it's laughing out loud or moments that make you shout and scream.

Pure intentions never come a long way when it comes to achieving stardom in Hollywood. John Wick star John Leguizamo seems to understand that but while the actor may hold a cynical view of the industry due to time spent behind the curtains, there exist some things (perhaps a movie role or odd jobs to pay oneʼs way through surviving as a struggling artist) that he imagines as simply being too awkward to be uttered in public.
John Leguizamo in To Wong Foo [Credit: Amblin/Universal Pictures]Now, sufficient time has passed in the life and career of Leguizamo to serve as a cushion for his criticism, whenever or wherever it may apply. Such a protective cushion frequently comes into use when the actor brings up his fellow co-stars in the industry and serves to spill some tea about their roles that some still view as divisive beyond reproach.

Marvel Studios has made yet another impressive addition to The Fantastic Four's cast, with Orange is the New Black and Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne set to play a mystery character according to Deadline.
Yes, like Paul Walter-Hauser and John Malkovich before her, there's no word on who the actress will play in the MCU. Regardless, this is a huge get for Marvel Studios and, while there's no official word on Lyonne's role, we'd love to hear your suggestions in the comments section.
Lyonne landed an Emmy nomination for starring in Rian Johnson's Power Face and she's attacked to produce, write, and direct episodes of the upcoming second season.
Other credits include Taika Waititi's next movie, Klara and the Sun, as well as His Three Daughters alongside Elizabeth Olsen and the next Smurfs movie. Lyonne is also no stranger to superhero movies after previously playing Sommerfield, a member of the Nightstalkers,...

Ryan Reynolds is probably one of the few actors out there with zero haters. From his onscreen characters to his banter with his wife Blake Lively, there is absolutely nothing we don’t love about him. His performance as Deadpool, though, will always hold a special place in our hearts. All in all, Ryan Reynolds clearly deserves all the appreciation he gets.

We've been hearing rumours for months that Wesley Snipes will return as Blade, and it was earlier this week that we learned the actor has indeed signed up for a future MCU appearance.
While X-Men and Spider-Man typically get the lion's share of credit for bringing superheroes back to theaters, Blade and Blade II arguably kickstarted the genre's return to prominence in the early 2000s. With that in mind, we find it easy to imagine Marvel Studios being keen to give Snipes the chance to bid farewell to the Daywalker after the disaster that was Blade: Trinity.
According to a rumour shared by scooper @MyTimeToShineH, Snipes has agreed to reprise his role as Blade in Deadpool & Wolverine.
This makes more sense than the next Avengers movies as Mahershala Ali should have appeared in the Blade reboot by then. It's also worth remembering that Snipes and Ryan Reynolds have a history on screen.

A decade on from its fateful leak, a look at how a two-minute Deadpool test reel has led to Deadpool & Wolverine – a film that is about to change the MCU.
The general public was never even meant to see it, and yet the test footage for Deadpool has made more of a dent on pop culture than some multi-million dollar films with huge marketing departments behind them.
To this day, nobody has publicly admitted to leaking that footage in 2014. Some have pointed the finger at director Tim Miller; franchise star Ryan Reynolds has playfully hinted that he might have uploaded it to the internet that July. There are theories that the studio that commissioned it, 20th Century Fox, may have leaked it deliberately as part of an elaborate publicity campaign.

Celebrities are often put on a pedestal by fans for a number of reasons, that vary from talent to their influence. However, many possess their little quirks, and while most of the time they are endearing, sometimes they are straight-up weird.
As public figures, celebrities are very conscious of their appearances, and diet plays a big part in their lives. Unsurprisingly, a lot of stars are very conscious of the food they consume, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Ryan Reynolds has shown his tremendous worth time and time again by doing things that others presumed to be rather impossible. Like getting an R-rated Deadpool movie full of savagery, profanity, and Nsfw references greenlit from the MCU — something that many thought they could never get. Or like convincing Hugh Jackman to return to his fan-favorite role of Wolverine.

But if there is, indeed, an impossible mission for Reynolds, then it is none other than bringing one Marvel actor back to the franchise: Wesley Snipes. Rather, it is because he himself wouldn’t want to do it, thanks to Snipes being quite infamous for all the notoriety he showed on the sets of his Blade trilogy.

Denzel Washington is one of the most prolific actors who changed the way African American characters were portrayed in mainstream cinema. The actor has starred in landmark films such as Training Day, Glory, Philadelphia, Malcolm X, and Cry Freedom. He has also been nominated for the Oscars multiple times and has won the award twice.
Washington was reportedly always interested in playing Black Panther in a film adaptation. While the actor became too old to play the iconic superhero by the time the character made his cinematic debut with Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal, Washington reportedly had his eyes on another superhero. Deadpool 3 has its official title: Deadpool & Wolverine. The first teaser trailer for the movie hit the internet during Super Bowl Lviii, giving superhero film fans their first glimpse at the wackiness it will offer.
One of the biggest reveals from the trailer was confirmation of the longstanding rumor that the Time Variance Authority would appear in the movie. The Time Variance Authority (or Tva for short) is the temporal enforcement organization seen in the Disney+ Loki series, which ensures time flows as it should in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The release date for Marvel’s upcoming Blade reboot has shifted several times already – at one point, it was scheduled to release in 2024 – and we’ve got another new date today.
Most recently slated for release on February 14, 2025, Blade will now daywalk into movie theaters on November 7, 2025. It’ll be the first time the vampire-slaying Marvel Comics character has been seen on the big screen since Blade: Trinity, released back in 2004.
Yann Demange (“Lovecraft Country”) will sit in the director’s chair for Blade’s big screen return in late 2025. Mahershala Ali is starring alongside Mia Goth (X, Pearl).
According to Demange, the upcoming movie will definitely be rated “R.”
Michael Starrbury (When They See Us) wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay, and we recently learned that Nic Pizzolatto (“True Detective”) is now working on the script.

Marvel has apparently been having a very, very hard time rebooting Blade into the MCU, which is kind of strange when you think about it. I mean, how hard is it to crack Blade? The character is pretty simple! He looks cool, he has cool weapons, and he kills vampires. That's it, really. It's not that complicated. And yet, Kevin Feige and company continue to struggle with the project, which is set to star Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali in the lead role of the Daywalker. The project, along with Ali's casting, was first announced in 2019, and it's apparently been all downhill since then.

Streaming services are now trying to ration their upcoming original content due to the ongoing actors strike and the only recently-resolved writers’ strike, so we’re going to see a thinning-down of new releases across the board over the next six months at least. Hulu will be adding a lot of library TV shows and movies in November, but there are only a few new major original projects hitting the streamer this month.
Hulu’s spotlight streaming series in November is Black Cake, which is based on the bestselling book by Charmaine Wilkerson. Part family drama, part murder mystery, the show features a globetrotting story that will cover decades of events after a bereaved family find a flash drive that contains some shocking secrets about the hidden history of their late matriarch.

Though Huluween is almost officially over, Hulu is not slowing down at all as the new month approaches! The streamer will head into November with plenty of new additions to un-spook yourself and keep warm, including the new Awkwafina and Sandra Oh-led “Quiz Lady”; Christmas classics like “National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation” and “The Polar Express,” and much more.
On the TV side, Hulu will have the exclusive two-episode premiere of FX’s limited murder mystery series “A Murder at the End of the World” starring Emma Corrin. “Fargo” fans can also catch the next-day streaming premiere of Season/Year 5, which will star Jon Hamm, Juno Temple, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Plus, in comes more of the debut season of “Spellbound,” a serialized re-cut of Baz Luhrmann’s “Australia,” and several original series premieres, including “Black Cake” on Nov. 1.

Ryan Reynolds was born in Canada and started acting at a young age, landing a role on a teenage soap opera. He then proceeded to work in both Canadian and American television, ultimately finding minor fame on the moderately successful ABC sitcom “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place.”
Movies followed with the low end of “Buying the Cow,” then a remake of “The In-Laws” and into bigger successes in “Blade: Trinity,” “Definitely Maybe,” and “Adventureland.” His career went into high gear by being cast as “Green Lantern” and starring opposite Sandra Bullock in “The Proposal.”
Reynolds managed to pull off the unthinkable in 2016 when he managed to get a Golden Globe nomination for Best Comedy/Musical Actor for “Deadpool.” The film had incredible box office returns, but it’s a rare achievement for a superhero role to bring major awards attention.

Oh, the annals of movies that were made by one guy who is kind of cool that were almost made by another guy who is way cooler. Did you know John Frankenheimer almost directed "Breakfast at Tiffany's?" That would have been ... intense. What about the fact that Danny Boyle almost directed Joss Whedon's script for "Alien: Resurrection?" Or that David Lynch, on the heels of the movie he went on to hate having made, "Dune," almost made "Return of the Jedi" instead?

In a career-spanning interview on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, “Man of Steel” writer David S. Goyer agreed with host Joshua Horowitz that Warner Bros. should’ve developed a standalone Superman sequel with Henry Cavill instead of attempting to mount a cinematic universe with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” The studio did so in order to compete with Marvel.
“I know the pressure we were getting from Warner Bros., which was, ‘We need our MCU! We need our MCU!’ And I was like let’s not run before we walk,” Goyer said. “The other thing that was difficult at the time was there was this revolving door of executives at Warner Bros. and DC. Every 18 months someone new would come in. We were just getting whiplash. Every new person was like, ‘We’re going to go bigger!'”

Long before I discovered the joys of horror movies, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a formative obsession of mine. I often wonder if Tmnt and its variety of imaginative creatures served as a gateway to the genre of sorts. Living up to its title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has the potential to do the same for a new generation.
Whether you’re a genre veteran interested in revisiting thematically similar offerings or a newcomer looking to branch out into some of Tmnt’s inspirations, here are six horror movies to watch after you see Mutant Mayhem.
1. The Fly
Mutant Mayhem villain Superfly is a fresh spin on the classic Tmnt character Baxter Stockman, who debuted in the original Mirage comics and has appeared in many other iterations since, from animated to live action. As a brilliant but mad scientist turned mutant human-fly hybrid, the character was clearly inspired by The Fly.

Bringing Blade back into the fold of the MCU isn’t a bad idea originally. Marvel has grown into a massive empire that has generated over five billion at the box office. Blade Trinity – the final film featuring the Marvel vampire – left the brand on a sour note. It saw the comic book anti-hero take a break from the mainstream media for a good period of time. There was a live-action adaptation of the popular character, but that immediately floundered following a strong debut on the then-named Spike TV. It’s understandable why Marvel wants to put the character within...

Ryan Reynolds put in a lot of work to get physically ready for his role as Green Lantern in the titular superhero movie. But his current wife Lively quipped that she attempted to make sure she was the better-looking actor in the film.

It wasn’t easy for Reynolds to get into superhero shape to play the intergalactic superhero Green Lantern. But doing so also wasn’t new territory for him at the time. Reynolds remarked that he was already accustomed to morphing his body for superhero films like Blade: Trinity and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Green Lantern just meant he had to revisit a very familiar physical routine and training regiment.
“It was a strange sort of sleight-of-hand trick I learned,” Reynolds once told GQ about obtaining his superhero physique.

Whether it’s the questionable FX, the lead star’s very controversial dalliances, or just audiences being burned one too many times by Comic Book Films, there’s one movie that is all anyone can talk about. And look, I get it. There was a lot of craziness that went on during this production and had more people come and go due to creative differences than any movie we’ve covered on the show.

Warner Brothers tried getting a Flash movie off the ground in the late 80’s with comic writer Jeph Loeb being brought in to write the screenplay. Unfortunately nothing ever came of the property until 2004 when David S Goyer signed on to write, direct and produce a new Flash.

Jessica Biel rose to stardom in the early 2000s-era of movies, starring in films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Stealth, Blade: Trinity, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, not to mention her time on hit series 7th Heaven. Natasha Lyonne has been in Hollywood for years and is now a total boss on screen. She’s got that raspy voice, brassy New York accent, and sarcastic attitude that we all love. But the 44-year-old is not just an actor – she’s got a ton of skills up her sleeve, including writing, producing, and directing, among others.
Lyonne has appeared in several iconic movies. But it wasn’t until she starred in Netflix’s Russian Doll that she truly captured the public’s attention. Unfortunately, the actor struggled to find her next big role since the show’s second season wrapped in 2021.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe really gives us a novelty that took forever for comic book movies to fully embrace. The idea of superhero properties crossing over and building to a much wider world is something that’s in the DNA of the source material. Outside of the Lou Ferrigno Hulk rubbing elbows with half-realized versions of Thor and Daredevil, it’s something that we never truly got to see until Nick Fury stopped by Tony Stark’s house after the Iron Man credits. Before that, the closest thing we had was J. Jonah Jameson referencing the existence of Doctor Strange. Even their rivals at DC Comics couldn’t give us more than a Superman reference in Batman and Robin or a Batman and Robin reference in Steel.
But we did have some close calls over the decades. Some closer than others. Movies and sequels that would have brought together various...

Michael Starrbury, who has penned episodes of Netflix and Ava DuVernay’s “When They See Us” and “Colin in Black and White,” wrote the previous draft of the screenplay.
Two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali will star in the feature, following in the footsteps of Wesley Snipes, who portrayed the half-human vampire hunter in the original “Blade” trilogy. That hit comic book series kicked off in 1998 with “Blade,” followed by “Blade II” in 2002 and “Blade: Trinity” in 2004.

Jessica Biel (“The Sinner,” The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) has been set to star alongside Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Ursa Major, Deadline reports today.
The thriller hails from twin brother directors Jonathan and Josh Baker (Kin) and is scheduled to head into production this fall.
Ursa Major takes place “on an Earth-like planet, where a mother (Biel) and daughter (Gomez) fight for survival while hiding from a group of relentless hunters. With the added threat of an imminent and deadly storm, Natalie — now a teenager — begins questioning her mother, Charlie, about who they really are, how they got here, and what they need to do to survive.”
Based on that premise and the team behind it, it feels safe to assume there will be surprises and potential twists in store for the mother and daughter as they attempt to evade their pursuers.

“Infinity Pool” actress Mia Goth has joined the cast of Mahershala Ali’s “Blade,” according to an insider with knowledge of the project.
Yann Demange, a French-Algerian filmmaker whose previous credits include Jack O’Connell’s “71” and Matthew McConaughey’s “White Boy Rick,” is attached to direct the vampire-killing actioner.
Michael Starrbury, who has penned episodes of Netflix and Ava DuVernay’s “When They See Us” and “Colin in Black and White,” wrote the latest draft of the screenplay.
Assuming all goes well from here, production will begin in Atlanta in early 2023. While the film will reportedly be darker than a stereotypical Marvel romp, the extent this film will straddle the line between the safely PG-13 MCU entries and New Line Cinema’s original hard-r trilogy with Wesley Snipes remains to be seen.
