When the duo fly from Paris to Mexico an Aero Mexico DC-10 is shown, but when the plane is takes off a view from the ground shows an Airbus and later when landing a Boeing 737.
In the scene where Campana and Perrin are eating breakfast at the airport, after Perrin puts salt on his meal he lights a cigarette. As the shots switch from facing Perrin and facing Campana, the cigarette switches hands (from Perrin's right to his left respectively).
As Campana (Depardieu) and Perrin (Richard) drive away in a rental car (a Chrysler Lebaron), the right front wheel is missing a wheel cover. Perrin yells to stop the car, both characters get into an argument, and when they're done the car drives away with the right front wheel cover in place.
When the head of the company wants to take the elevator to go to his office, from the ground, he pushes the Down button, then, inside the elevator, he pushes the 13th floor (Up).
On the title screen, the title is written with a spelling mistake: "La chêvre", with a circumflex accent instead of a grave accent.
The music isn't typical nor resembles the typical music of Mexico. It sounds like the music of the Andes, with a quena or another Andean wind instrument.
There are no gorillas in South America.
At one point in the movie, Perrin gets kidnapped by a gorilla in spite of the fact that such animals do not live in the Americas.
