- The continuation of the life of Archie Bunker. For the past 2 years, he's been a successful owner of the former Kelsey's Bar that is now a restaurant. But he continues to live in the same humble home he lived in the original series.
During the 3 year run of the series, his daughter and her family had a visit at their house after her husband lost his job in a protest, his beloved wife Edith died in her sleep at the age of 53, hired a black housekeeper, reunited with Sammy Davis Jr., fought for custody of his preteen niece Stephanie, helped his chef Veronica battle alcoholism, have a chance of selling his house and moving into a high rise apartment with no soul or character, and took in his teenage niece, Billie to raise, as well.
Archie's bigotry has toned down and he has softened up, due to the multicultural influence of the staff at his bar and the difficulty of raising a preteen and teenage girl
